In this interview we discuss his early years, from his time at Lincoln High School in Tacoma to his time at the University of Oregon running under the legendary coaches Bill Bowerman and Bill Dellinger. We also discuss his relationship with Steve Prefontaine. In the next episode we will focus on his coaching career.
