Molly Sims spent nearly six years modeling in Europe, graced the cover of Sports Illustrated, and starred in Las Vegas and The Carrie Diaries—then quietly spent three years and over $2 million of her own money developing a skincare brand nobody asked for. When she launched YSE Beauty on April 24, 2023, she had no idea if it would work. It did. The brand hit close to $30 million in revenue, is growing nearly 100% year-on-year, landed an exclusive partnership with Sephora, and closed a $15 million Series A with Silas Capital—all in under three years. In this interview, Molly breaks down why she launched DTC before she was ready, how she turned her podcast into a brand-building machine two years before she had a product to sell, and the hard-won lessons on ops, retail margins, and building a team that can survive when things go wrong. What you'll learn in this interview: • Why Molly self-funded over $2 million of her own money into product development—and the Christmas moment she nearly didn't • How three years of testing 100+ formulas to solve her own melasma led to genuine product-market fit in a crowded category • Why she launched DTC-first and treated social media as her brick-and-mortar before ever approaching a retailer • How starting her podcast Lipstick on the Rim two years before launch built the community and credibility that made YSE possible • The ops reality nobody tells you: being sold out on five products isn't a good problem—it's a sign of broken demand planning • Why she sold the Home Edit show to Netflix in 2015—and how producing taught her to spot talent and build content that converts • The exact mindset she brings to Sephora: be raggedy, negotiate your margins, and never just take what the retailer gives you • How she chose Silas Capital over larger funds—and why alignment on the customer is more important than the size of the check • Why the third year of a brand is "disciplined growth"—and how she's shifting from whack-a-mole survival mode to a three-year roadmap • The hiring mistake most fast-growth founders make: assuming who got you here will get you there If you're building a DTC beauty or lifestyle brand, trying to navigate the leap from direct-to-consumer into retail, or looking for the no-BS truth about what founder-led growth actually looks like in year one, two, and three, this conversation will fundamentally change how you think about product, community, and when to jump off the cliff. Do you feel like your eating habits are solid, but your unpredictable schedule is what's holding you back from fat loss? If that sounds familiar, you're not alone. In today's episode, I'm answering a question from Jenni – a listener from this show who is a nurse navigating long, busy, and often unpredictable shifts. We're diving into how to structure your day when your schedule isn't consistent, and why your approach to eating needs to be flexible, not perfect. Because even if your work hours are set… when (and how) you eat can vary a lot. This is something I see all the time with my clients, and in real life with my husband's career too. Inside the episode, I'm breaking down simple, realistic strategies to help you create more consistency in your day, support your fat loss goals, and know exactly what to do in those moments when you're not hungry, but also don't know when you'll be able to eat next. No matter what your schedule looks like, you'll walk away knowing how to stay on track with fat loss even when your day doesn't go as planned. 1:1 Coaching with Lauren and Our Team of Dietitians: HERE To connect with Lauren, click HERE Submit your question for advice from Lauren on the show HERE Take the free Weight Loss Personality Quiz HERE Shop Our Meal Plans HERE Get Support & Personally Work With Us HERE Related Episodes:
Most people don't have a motivation problem — they have a comfort zone problem. In this episode, Ray Higdon delivers a no-filter breakdown of the single biggest reason your results haven't changed: you're waiting to feel like taking action before you actually take it. And according to neuroscience, that feeling will never come. Your comfort zone isn't just a mindset issue — it's a chemical addiction wired into your brain, and it's producing your current results with stunning precision. Ray walks through the science behind why motivation always follows action and never precedes it. Drawing on how the neocortex and limbic brain interact to create the chemicals of emotion, he explains why you'll never crave going to the gym, prospecting, or building your business until you've already started doing it. More importantly, he gives you a clear, practical framework: stop waiting, start with small actions that break your pattern, and let inertia do the heavy lifting — because after 21 days of consistent movement, you'll be neurologically rewired. You'll also learn the second critical mistake most people make after getting inspired — going too hard, burning out in three days, and quitting entirely. Ray unpacks how to use inertia correctly: stop at a coffee shop instead of going straight home, commit to just showing up at the gym without a workout plan, and give yourself permission to start small. Two focused hours a day done consistently beats four burned-out hours every single time. If you're serious about getting different results, this episode is where the shift begins. —

Most founders get the order wrong. They build for two years, then ask a marketer how to sell it. Connie Lund flipped the script. She started Zaboom with no dev team, no code background, and no VC funding. What she had was 50+ years of combined marketing and product experience, a GoHighLevel account, and a willingness to break things at 2 a.m. on a Sunday. In this episode, Connie walks Matt through how she built a working voice AI product for insurance agencies—using N8N, GoHighLevel, and Claude as her "CTO." Then landed paying customers in under 90 days. She also gets honest about what AI can't do for you: use good judgment, know when to stop, and figure out if what you're building actually matters to anyone. They cover the difference between outputs and outcomes, why talking to customers beats building in isolation every time, and how the traditional "raise VC, hire devs, ship product" playbook is getting replaced by something scrappier and faster. If you're a founder who's been waiting until the product is perfect to talk to people, this episode will make you uncomfortable. Good. Welcome to the Purple Patch Podcast! On this episode, IRONMAN Master Coach Matt Dixon and Fuelin's Megan Foley discuss nutrition strategies for endurance athletes as race season approaches. Megan emphasizes the importance of periodizing nutrition to match training intensity, highlighting the need for adequate carbohydrate intake. She warns against focusing solely on race weight, as it can compromise performance. Megan advises athletes to practice race-day fueling gradually, starting with shorter sessions and gradually increasing intake. She also stresses the importance of rest, sleep, and a balanced diet. For race week, she recommends maintaining usual eating habits, planning carbohydrate loading, and ensuring access to nutritious food at the race location. He watched a high-level career disappear overnight—and realized his entire plan had no backup. That moment changed how he thought about income, risk, and what it actually means to be “secure.” What started as accidental live-in flips turned into a bigger realization: trading time for money—even at a high level—comes with a ceiling and a risk most people ignore until it's too late. This conversation breaks down the shift from hands-on real estate to scalable multifamily—and why most people get stuck before they ever get momentum. If you're still relying on a single income stream, this episode will force you to rethink the plan.

https://www.thechampionshipcoach.com/ Finding the "correct" coaching job is rarely about the prestige of the name on the jersey; it's about the alignment between the program's DNA and your personal "Why." Too many coaches chase the "biggest" job only to find themselves in a culture that suffocates their philosophy. To find the right fit, you have to treat the job search like a scouting report—looking past the surface-level wins and losses to see the structural reality of the organization. Before looking at job boards, you must define your non-negotiables. A "correct" job exists at the intersection of three specific pillars: Tactical Philosophy: Does the school or club value the style of play you specialize in? If you are a "Dribble Drive" coach but the administration is obsessed with a slow-paced, traditional post-up system, you are setting yourself up for friction. Lifestyle Logistics: Every job has a "cost of entry." This includes commute times, off-season expectations, and administrative duties. A job that looks great on paper but destroys your work-life balance will eventually lead to burnout. Organizational Support: Does the Athletic Director or General Manager have your back? You need to know if the "Standard" you set in the locker room will be supported when you have to make a difficult decision regarding a player or a parent. Every opening tells a story. You need to identify which chapter of that story you are entering: The interview process isn't just about them liking you; it's about you "vetting" them. Ask the questions that reveal the true culture: "How does the administration handle parent complaints regarding playing time?" "What is the budget for player development and assistant coaches?" "What does 'success' look like to you three years from now, regardless of the scoreboard?" In the modern landscape, the "correct" coaching job might not be at a traditional school. Consulting & Digital Coaching: If you have spent decades mastering a system, the "correct" move might be coaching other coaches. Platforms that offer "Scalable Mentorship" allow you to impact thousands of players without the 80-hour work week. Club/AAU Director: Transitioning from the sidelines to a "Director of Coaching" role allows you to shape the fundamentals of an entire region rather than just one roster. To objectively measure a potential job, use this simple calculation for each offer: Where: $A$ (Alignment): How well their vision matches your philosophy (1–10). $L$ (Logistics): How the job fits your daily life and family (1–10). $S$ (Support): The quality of the administration and resources (1–10). A score above 8.5 is a "Must Take." A score below 6.0 is a "Hard Pass," no matter how big the school is. In this solo episode, I break down why social might feel heavier right now and more importantly, how to respond. We have to be willing to treat social like a skill we can actually master instead of a mystery you're either "good at" or not. In this episode, you'll hear: • How this impacts you no matter your stage of business • My own experience with social feeling "harder" and what that's looked like for me • The thing that makes content creation dramatically easier • Why focusing on the right metrics changes everything • What happens when you actually study your best-performing content • Something you already have that will make your growth so much faster Episode Links Join my Facebook group Connect with Sari on Instagram Learn more about Sari on her website If you're enjoying the coaching you're hearing, check out my Ultimate Mini Course to Maximizing Results in 1:1 Coaching to learn the proven strategies & foundational tools for creating an in-demand container that gets your clients real results
In this throwback episode, I'm taking you behind the scenes of my own journey from restriction, binge eating, and food guilt to true food freedom and sustainable fat loss. I share how years of under-eating and chasing quick-fix weight loss actually slowed my metabolism health, created a fat loss plateau, and kept me stuck in the exact cycle I was trying to escape. If you feel like you've tried "EVERY diet under the sun" and still can't lose weight, this episode will help you understand why dieting harder is not the answer. We're talking about metabolic adaptation, why tracking macros changed everything for me, and how a reverse diet can be the step that finally moves you toward sustainable weight loss without giving up the food you love.

If debt is draining your finances, your relationships, and your peace of mind, this episode is for you. Ray Higdon sits down with debt relief expert Josh Valentine — a 14-year consumer finance veteran who has helped over 30,000 people resolve more than $1 billion in debt — for a no-fluff conversation about unsecured debt, why the banking system is designed to keep you in bondage, and what you can actually do about it. You'll hear a real client story from Jack, who lowered his monthly payment below what he was originally paying before enrolling in the program. This week, learn why waiting until you feel ready to raise capital is the exact mindset keeping you on the sideline. John Casmon makes the case that you will never feel fully ready, and that confidence comes from preparation. In this episode, John breaks down three practical steps to start raising capital today: building your reps, assembling the right team, and shifting your focus from yourself to the people you are trying to serve. Make sure to download our free guide, 7 Questions Every Passive Investor Should Ask, here. Key Takeaways Confidence comes from preparation. Act first, and the feeling of readiness develops from there Analyze deals, talk to people in the marketplace, and find mentors or coaches to build your reps Build a team that offsets your experience gaps so you do not have to be the expert on everything yourself Overcome imposter syndrome by being resourceful and knowing where to find solutions Raise capital when you are not under pressure, before you have a live deal or after you have already closed Shift your focus from your own fear of rejection to educating and serving potential investors Topics Why Waiting Until You're Ready Is a Mistake John opens by challenging the belief that you need more experience before raising capital He argues directly that you are never going to feel ready, and that continuing to wait only delays progress The gap is rooted in preparation and reps, and those are things you can act on today Building Confidence Through Reps Confidence comes from putting in the work: analyzing deals, talking to people in the marketplace, and working with mentors or coaches John uses an NFL draft analogy: rookies have never played a professional game, but they draw on their football experience and translate it to the next level Transferable skills count. Experience managing a budget, running a business, or investing in smaller residential properties can all translate meaningfully to multifamily The benchmark is doing enough preparation that you know what you are talking about, and you can build toward that starting today Aligning Yourself with the Right Team Whatever you lack in experience, offset it with team members who have it: property managers, partners, analysts, brokers, coaches John revisits the rookie analogy: no team drafts a first-year player and hands them the franchise. They pair them with veterans who complement their skill set Building a credible, well-rounded team is how you present a compelling picture to potential investors regardless of where you are in your career Coaching and mentoring adds direct value here. Having experienced people on your side removes the pressure of carrying all the expertise yourself Overcoming Imposter Syndrome Imposter syndrome is rooted in being too focused on yourself: your gaps, your fears, and your ego Investors want you to know more than they do and to be resourceful enough to find solutions. That is the standard, and it is achievable John shares a personal story: a former colleague unsubscribed from his investor newsletter early in his capital-raising journey, and he initially took it personally He later recognized the real lesson. He had not conveyed the right message to the right audience. The feedback was about positioning, and it had nothing to do with him personally The practical response to imposter syndrome is sharing your journey openly, letting people learn about you over time, and focusing on being of service Raising Capital When You Don't Need the Money The best time to raise capital is when there is no live deal pressure, either before you have identified a deal or after you have already closed and can share openly what you are working through When you are communicating without a funding deadline looming, you come across with authentic confidence Pressure is detectable. Potential investors will sense desperation, and it undermines trust The goal is to present opportunities and let people decide if it is the right fit Shifting Focus from Yourself to Serving Others John frames the entire challenge of capital raising as a mindset problem. You are too focused on your own feelings and your own fear of rejection When someone does not invest, it is rarely personal. It is usually a messaging or fit issue, and it is feedback worth learning from Your job is to get in front of the right people with the right message and the right opportunity. Finding those people is where your energy belongs When you focus on how you can serve and educate potential investors, the conversation changes entirely

We also dive into: – Why fear and pressure are part of elite environments – How mindset impacts decision-making and execution – The difference between performance and mentality – Practical ways to coach psychology during sessions – Why engagement is the starting point for everything This is a conversation for coaches who want to move beyond just tactics and start developing players who can truly compete.

Most founders can tell you their follower count, their reach, their impressions. But ask them which channel is actually driving revenue — not likes, not email subscribers, actual revenue — and most of them can't answer that confidently. Here's the problem: we've been told to be everywhere. More platforms, more visibility. But being everywhere without knowing what's working means you're spending more time creating than building — and quietly holding your business back. In this episode, I break down the channel clarity framework I've been applying at Foundr, including why we nearly broke the business by over-indexing on one channel that was spending close to $1M a month in Facebook ads — and what I'd do differently. Here's what you'll take away: • Why platform-reported data lies to you — and how every channel claims credit for the same sale • How to audit your channels properly: what to measure beyond views, reach, and vanity metrics • The real reason this podcast drives Foundr's best and most engaged customers — and what that means for your long-form strategy • Why doubling down on what's working is almost always the move — and the one risk that can make it backfire • How to treat your marketing as an ecosystem, not a collection of separate channels competing for budget • The difference between a content problem and a clarity problem — and which one you're actually solving If you're spreading yourself across five platforms without a clear signal on what's converting, this episode will show you how to cut through the noise, find your best channel, and build from there instead of starting over. If you're loving this solo series, I'd love to hear your feedback. Email me directly at nathan@foundr.com — I read every reply. Hope you enjoy it. WANT TO GROW YOUR BRAND WITH META ADS? Super shoes, extreme in race carb consumption, and doping was a big topic in the running news the past week. We saw both Sebastian Sawe and Yomif Kejelcha go under 2 hours for the first time in a sanctioned event. Much of the conversation around these performances were centered around innovations in shoe technology, carbohydrate fueling strategies, and doping suspicion. Delight Your Marriage | Relationship Advice, Christianity, & Sexual Intimacy
From Tolerating to Delighting: Marriage Transformation Is Possible (feat. Gary Thomas & Belah Rose) Imagine this: Your husband is working nights and you are cleaning houses during the day. When you find out you are pregnant, you pursue a dream of writing a book. Every morning you walk to the coffee shop just down the street to write. One of your favorite things to do is listen to books about marriage. One of your favorite books on the topic is written by Gary Thomas. In his book, Sacred Marriage, he asks, "What if marriage is meant to make us holy instead of happy?" Now, fast forward just a few years. You are having a conversation with that author, and he tells you he is a fan of your work. Fast forward a couple more years, and you get to be mentored by this same author. Eventually, it becomes evident that he and I can help more couples by joining forces and creating a collaboration where he shares his wisdom through books and speaking, and you are able to provide coaching and accountability for people after they read the books or attend the conferences. That is the story I am sharing with you today as I announce a collaboration with Gary Thomas, bestselling author and speaker. In this episode, we share how God truly has a plan for your marriage. He is the one who changes lives, and we have been able to see that in both of our work. I want to encourage you that God can take your loaves and fishes and do something amazing. He can take your willingness. He can take your bit of faith, and He can make a marvelous tapestry for His glory. Just yesterday, we had two amazing graduations. Both individuals were changed themselves. And their spouse changed in response, though their spouses did not do the work. That can be your story, too. We would love to witness God perform that miracle through biblical principles made practical on the inside. Listen to today's podcast to understand Gary's heart and mine regarding the work we do, and now do together. Thank you, Gary, for the honor! And thank you, listener, for your love, support, and prayers. I am honored to be able to serve in this way and am trusting God for more healed hearts. God bless you, Belah PS - Marriage Transformation is real. Schedule a free Clarity Call and start your journey to a playful, peaceful, purposeful marriage. PPS - Here is a quote from a recent Coaching program graduate: My wife and I struggled to get along...We were so intimately disconnected that it led to months of no sexual intimacy...it was so painful. We constantly fought about any and everything...I had gone into various counseling programs, spiritual formations, soul care, discipleship...But nothing was really changing our relationship... [Now,] God is answering my prayers and faith is becoming a reality. She is opening up, sharing her thoughts and feeling safe and connected...She is trusting me again...[We] have been having sex again...I am in such a better place and praise God for leading me to Belah and DYM. Here is an AI-generated summary of today's episode: A New Christ-Centered Partnership for Marriage Transformation Gary Thomas and Belah Rose announce a meaningful new collaboration between Gary's marriage ministry work and Belah's ministry, Delight Your Marriage. Their shared desire is to help marriages be healed, strengthened, and transformed for the glory of God. Belah Rose's Story: From Brokenness to Marriage Ministry Belah shares how her own painful first marriage, divorce, and season away from Jesus shaped her calling. After experiencing healing through Christ and through the love of her husband, Darrow, she became passionate about helping others avoid the pain she had walked through. Her heart for Delight Your Marriage was born from the realization that marriage can either deeply wound or deeply heal—and that intimacy is often a powerful catalyst in that process. Why One Spouse Can Still Make a Difference A major theme of the conversation is that transformation can begin with just one spouse doing the work. Gary and Belah emphasize that this is not about blame or manipulation. Instead, it is about reclaiming God-given influence, loving your spouse as an act of obedience to Christ, and allowing God to change the atmosphere of the marriage. Understanding How Men and Women Receive Love Differently Belah explains the Delight Your Marriage framework for helping spouses love each other well. For wives, the focus is often helping them feel: Safe Known Wholeheartedly cherished For husbands, the focus is often helping them feel: Respected Admired Wholeheartedly intimate Gary affirms that while every person is unique, there are real patterns in how men and women often experience love, safety, respect, and intimacy. Rebuilding Intimacy Without Pressure or Manipulation Gary and Belah address the pain of sexless, disconnected, or emotionally distant marriages. They explain that true intimacy is not about obligation or pressure, but mutual joy, desire, safety, and love. Belah shares that many spouses come into the program wanting change in intimacy, but through the process, their motivation becomes deeper: loving their spouse well because they love God. Real Stories of Marriages Being Restored Belah shares several powerful examples of transformation, including: A couple who had gone 10 years without intimacy and experienced renewed connection after three months of doing the work. A wife whose husband had been checked out through video games, but who became more engaged, responsible, and affectionate after she changed her approach. A husband whose wife had been emotionally cold and distant, but who later began coming toward him with affection, conversation, and intimacy. Hope for Marriages That Feel Dead and Buried Gary and Belah are honest that not every marriage has a guaranteed outcome, especially when divorce, abuse, abandonment, or unsafe dynamics are involved. But they also emphasize that God can resurrect marriages that seem completely hopeless. Through Christ, practical tools, humility, and accountability, many couples have experienced healing they never thought possible. What Happens on a Clarity Call Belah explains that the first step is a free Clarity Call. During the call, a trained advisor listens deeply to the person's story, prays for them, and helps identify what may be at the root of the marital struggle. From there, some people are invited to a Program Discovery Call to discern whether coaching is the right next step. Why Accountability Matters in Marriage Growth Gary explains that books, conferences, and resources can be helpful, but many people need someone to walk with them personally. Belah shares that Delight Your Marriage offers coaching, structure, small-group support, prayer, and accountability so participants are not trying to change alone. Help for Good Marriages That Want to Become Great The program is not only for marriages in crisis. Belah explains that even strong marriages can have hidden "leaks"—small areas where connection, intimacy, communication, or delight could become stronger. Sometimes a marriage that seems good can become far better than either spouse knew was possible. Support for Pastors, Missionaries, and Ministry Marriages Belah and Gary also discuss the importance of supporting pastors, missionaries, and ministry couples. Many leaders feel isolated in their marriage struggles, and Delight Your Marriage offers a private, Christ-centered place to receive help. Belah shares that scholarships are available for some full-time ministers. Special Invitation for Gary Thomas's Audience To celebrate the partnership, Belah shares a special offer for Gary Thomas's audience. Those who sign up and share that they were referred by Gary Thomas can receive $500 or more in savings if they sign up for a Clarity Call and coaching before May 15. Final Encouragement: There Is Real Hope for Your Marriage Gary and Belah close with a message of hope. A painful marriage does not have to stay the same. A distant marriage can become connected again. A marriage that feels dead can be revived by the power of Jesus. The invitation is simple: take the next step, begin with a Clarity Call, and discover what God may want to heal.

These two brothers sold a profitable airsoft business to bet everything on a sport most people had never heard of. In 2014, Rob and Mike Barnes founded Selkirk Sport in the pickleball space—back when the sport was small, the products were cheap, and the category felt entirely mom and pop. Eleven years later, the company is valued at over $200 million with revenue up 1,900% since 2019, and pickleball is closing in on tennis as America's most-played racket sport. In this interview, the co-founders of Selkirk Sport break down how they built the premium brand in an emerging category—from serializing their first 360 paddles expecting mistakes, to investing $1 million into a dedicated R&D lab, to their contrarian take on athlete sponsorships and why signing a pro is only 30% of the work. What you'll learn in this interview: • Why they sold a profitable business to go all-in on a sport nobody had heard of • How serializing their first 360 paddles shaped Selkirk's premium quality obsession from day one • Why they invested $1 million in an in-house R&D lab instead of white-labeling cheap product like everyone suggested • The four P framework (Product, People, Process, Promotion) that's driven Selkirk's growth from day one • How they built an in-house marketing agency and cut all external agencies to move faster at lower cost • Why athlete sponsorships are only 30% of the work—and why investing in promotion is what actually builds brand equity • Their counterintuitive COVID strategy: reduce hours, keep every employee, and bet on the rebound • Why they launched SLK by Selkirk as a separate sub-brand to compete at lower price points without destroying the premium brand • How Selkirk Labs—a members-only experimental product program—created a real-time consumer feedback loop • When and why they moved away from digital advertising and became one of the only pickleball brands buying linear TV • How they identified the coming consolidation in pickleball and why they took on strategic investment from Bluestone Equity Partners to be part of it If you're building a brand in an emerging category, navigating the tension between premium positioning and mass-market growth, or trying to turn a niche obsession into a category-defining company, this conversation will fundamentally change how you think about brand building, product strategy, and timing your bets. "Cold outreach is a great way to start — but it's not how you scale."Welcome back to The Speaker Lab Podcast! In this solo episode, host Dan Irvin makes the case that the most efficient gig you'll ever book is the one you just finished. The problem? Most speakers walk off stage, shake a few hands, grab a photo, and move on — completely missing the two, three, maybe five opportunities that were already sitting in that room.Dan breaks down the exact post-event process he uses to turn every speaking gig into referrals, rebookings, and long-term relationships — including the story of a low-fee local event that turned into over $50,000 in workshops with a client he's still working with today. This isn't about doing more work. It's about doing the right work after the work most people think is the finish line. You'll learn:Why the stage is just the beginning — and what your job actually looks like in the 48 hours after you leave itHow Dan's post-event process generates referrals, repeat bookings, and long-term clients on autopilotThe handwritten thank you note habit Dan swears by (and why it still works in 2025)Why post-event calls are non-negotiable — and exactly what Dan covers in every single oneThe performance review section: how to ask for honest feedback without making it awkwardThe one question Dan always asks to surface referrals — and who you should (and shouldn't) be asking it toWhy most event planners won't bring the same speaker back year over year — and why that's actually great news for your businessHow to stay top of mind without forcing the relationshipThe $50,000 follow-up: what happened when Dan showed up to a packed standing-room event he almost didn't takeWhy your next 10–15 gigs are probably already sitting in rooms you've spoken inAnd much, much more! "Your next gigs are already sitting in the rooms you've spoken in — but only if you treat the relationship that way."Want help building a post-event system that actually works?Grab a free 15-minute Speaker Business Assessment at thespeakerlab.com/SBA — Dan and the team will look at your audience, pipeline, and revenue model and help you figure out exactly what to do next.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Most network marketers have been taught that building relationships before pitching is the golden rule of sales — but what if that advice is actually costing you recruits, commissions, and credibility? In this episode, Ray Higdon delivers an unpopular but powerful truth: when it comes to reaching out to strangers on social media, "build relationships first" is not just ineffective — it's dishonest. Ray breaks down why people universally prefer you get straight to the point, why problem-solving is the real engine behind every sale, and exactly what two things you must communicate when reaching out to cold market prospects online. He also shares how this approach helped one client become the #1 recruiter in her company and helped another generate $100,000 in personal commissions in under 90 days. If you're waiting for your attraction marketing to kick in while your pipeline sits dry, this episode is your wake-up call. Ray gives you a clear, actionable framework — including the three targeting methods of occupation, location, and intelligent comment — so you can stop beating around the bush and start converting cold market conversations into real income. —

Eric Thompson interviews Tammi Winbauer, a Bismarck, North Dakota Ninja, who shares how she turned her business around after a difficult stretch. At the start of 2025, Tammi was in a slump, dealing with personal challenges, low production, and a mindset focused on simply getting by. By the end of the year, she had dramatically reversed course, earning over $220,000 in the second half of the year and building strong momentum into 2026. Tammi credits her transformation to recommitting to the fundamentals of Ninja Selling, especially her morning routine, mindset work, and consistent execution of the Ninja Nine. With her coach's support, she shifted from reactive behavior to a highly intentional, structured approach. Her daily routine now includes gratitude, affirmations, note writing, planning, reviewing her hot and warm lists, and proactively matching clients with opportunities. A key theme is moving from "going through the motions" to deeper, more meaningful execution. Tammi emphasizes writing intentional notes, adding real estate reviews, and staying focused on abundance rather than scarcity. She also implemented clear boundaries in her schedule, which improved both her productivity and her quality of life. Her story demonstrates that even after a downturn, a business can be rebuilt with purpose, discipline, and consistency. The shift from survival mode to intentional action created both stronger results and a more fulfilling life. Key Takeaways Turning a business around starts with shifting from reactive behavior to intentional daily structure A consistent morning routine built on gratitude, affirmations, and planning creates a strong mindset foundation Meaningful execution of the Ninja Nine drives results, not just going through the motions Focusing on hot and warm lists daily creates proactive opportunities and strengthens relationships Setting boundaries improves both business performance and personal well-being Coaching provides clarity, perspective, and accountability that accelerates growth Memorable Quotes "I was trying to survive." This week on the Modern Soccer Coach Podcast, Gary Curneen is joined by Glenn Crooks. A former Division 1 college coach, MLS commentator for New York City FC, and host of the Coaching Academy on SiriusXM, Glenn brings a unique perspective shaped by years inside the game. His new book, Put It on Frame, draws from conversations with some of the top coaching minds and forms the foundation for a discussion that goes well beyond tactics. This episode gets into the reality of coaching at a deeper level — what actually separates top coaches, how they think, and how they lead. It's a conversation about clarity, personality, and managing people in environments that are constantly evolving. Gary and Glenn also explore the current state of US coaching and player development — a landscape that continues to grow, but is still searching for a clear identity at the highest levels of the game. In this episode, we cover: What top coaches really do differently Why coaching is more about managing than tactics The biggest challenges in US player development Key trends shaping MLS right now What success should actually look like for the US national team If you're serious about your coaching, this episode will challenge how you see the role and what it really demands. What if prayer isn't just spiritual—but neurological? In this powerful conversation, Dr. Caroline Leaf sits down with Craig Groeschel—founder of Life.Church and New York Times bestselling author—to explore the science of prayer, the reality of burnout, and the mental health crisis many leaders quietly face. Craig opens up about the moment anxiety hit him like a “40-pound weight” on his chest—and why, after decades of resilience, he suddenly found himself depleted, not just tired. Together, they unpack what neuroscience now confirms: prayer can calm the brain, strengthen emotional regulation, and rewire how we respond to stress. This episode challenges the idea that faith and mental health are separate—and offers a new framework for understanding prayer not as something you do, but as a state of ongoing awareness that transforms your mind. You'll learn: How prayer impacts the brain, including the prefrontal cortex and amygdala Why “praying without ceasing” is about awareness, not constant words The critical difference between being tired and being truly depleted Why rest alone doesn't fix burnout—and what actually does How identity becomes fragile when it's built on performance Why doing something uncomfortable or new can reset your nervous system This is a conversation about faith, science, identity, and what it really takes to heal your mind.
