Real talk in a world that stopped listening.
Hey, friends! 2021 has already been proven to be an eventful year, and we're chatting about all the happenings that have taken place in the U.S. and the public's reactions to them. Keeping it real, Griff & Dev
You didn't think we'd leave you guys hanging before the New Year, did ya? This episode is very special to us... it's the first time we were physically together when we recorded it, AND, that means, we also filmed it. That's right, you'll get to not only listen to, but WATCH this episode and actually SEE your favorite brother/sister duo (YouTube link below). Well, let's get to it... in this episode we're doing some reflecting on the year 2020 (in the future, I sense this will be like saying "Voldemort") and all of the major stuff that went on. We also touch upon spirituality, astrology, and that pesky Mandela Effect. Time is a funny thing, isn't it? It's been the longest yet shortest year. Also, the most stressful yet the most restful. Anyway, we hope you enjoy the episode. Oh, and have a happy new year! YouTube: https://youtu.be/sjB5I9OjsK4 Keeping it real, Griff & Dev
What's goin' on here, friends? Cheers to episode 7, and to stick with the theme of last week's episode, we're sharing our own expertise as guests on our own show! Today we’re talking all things self-defense with Griffin Coombs... Griffin is a self-defense teacher, researcher, and practitioner. A lifelong martial artist, he took the official plunge into the world of self-defense and personal safety in 2011 when he began his training in Israeli Krav Maga. Alongside 7 years of week-in, week-out training, Griffin spent that time teaching self-defense, both as a personal contractor and as an affiliate of the pre-eminent Krav Maga training center of the Northeastern United States. Now in Tangier, Morocco, his research, teaching, and training continue in their most eclectic form to date. In this conversation, you’ll hear him addressing the differences between martial arts and self-defense, and how to effectively balance your training. We also get into the fundamentals of situational awareness, we discuss the glorification of violence in self-defense training, and lots more. Enjoy! Oh, and message us on Instagram, will ya? We love to hear from our listeners!
After taking a week off, we're excited to jump back in with another episode. This time, we're talking about what's goin' on with health, nutrition, immunity, and more! Happy Election Day? Yeah, we aren't sure, either. What the hell is goin' on here? Where's the line between intuition and psychological blind spots? Do the ends ever justify the means? Be it with pandemic-related laws or manipulation of information. Why do we let history repeat itself? Do private tech companies really function like private tech companies? Keeping it real, Griff & Dev
We're here thanking our lucky stars with Emily Davidson! Emily is a classical cellist, pop song writer, and music producer. A passionate hobbyist in astrology, she's used the wisdom of the stars to guide her own life, and also, help support those in her wide and diverse social circle. Enjoy the show! Oh, and make sure you follow Emily Davidson on Instagram @wishlystmusic for her latest projects and music releases. Keeping it real, Griff & Dev
What's goin' on, friends? Sorry for the episode 3 delay, it's been quite a strange week for us - Mercury's in retrograde, am I right? Anyway, we're super excited to bring you this episode; we had an awesome conversation with our guest, Tony Porterfield. Tony is a gay, Trump supporter who grew up in the Northeast, but has since found where he belongs in the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, loving every minute of it. Tony's dive into politics only recently began in 2016 leading up to the presidential election. In this episode we talk to Tony about what's goin' on with the upcoming election, reconciling LGBT rights with his support for Trump, what it's like from living in New England to Mississippi, and blurred lines between anti-discrimination and government overreach. Let us know what you think after you've given it a listen - follow us on Instagram @whats_goin_on_here. Oh, and make sure you subscribe on one of the many platforms we're on. Hey, friends! In our second episode, we're excited to welcome our very first guest, Patti Wilson, to the conversation. Patti is a representative from Democrats Abroad, currently residing in Tangier, Morocco and has taught middle school since 2012. Patti is a thoughtful individual who brings warmth, depth, and experience to the conversation while remaining open about her own struggles in dealing with political and intellectual gray areas. In this episode, we're hitting you with what's goin' on with voter suppression, cancel culture, modern lack of trust in authority, & wellness during pandemic. As always, let us know what you think, and give us a follow on Instagram @whats_goin_on_here . Keeping it real, Griff & Dev
What's Goin' On Here? Real talk in a world that stopped listening. Hey, everyone! We're Griffin and Devon, the Coombs siblings, and we're excited/terrified for our podcast debut! There's so much to be gained from open-minded discussion and nuanced conversations, and we think this has become lost on much of the world. It seems as though we've just stopped listening - stopped listening to rationale, stopped listening to the other side of the argument, stopped listing to each other, and stopped listening to ourselves. We're hoping to bring a more balanced, less polarized conversation into the mix that that will garner people's attention and maybe, just maybe, remind us all to listen. For our first episode, we're hitting you with what's goin' on with this virus, U.S. politics, and hypocrisies. We hope you enjoy the listen! Keeping it real, Griff & Dev
