It's been a minute! After taking a little break, I'm back and, naturally, there is A LOT to talk about.I started this episode by talking about what I think a championship team actually looks and feels like, and what separates a team that can compete from a team that can actually win it all. From there, we've got plenty of hot topics: DeWanna Bonner joining the Atlanta Dream, Kate Martin being waived and where I'd like to see her go next, Nneka Ogwumike's retirement and what's going on with the Sparks, plus a quick conversation about the Mercury and some of their struggles this season.I also talked about A'ja Wilson and Kelsey Plum not joining Team USA for the World Cup, shared some pre-World Cup thoughts, and then went team-by-team through the playoff field. What do I love about each team? What could get them in trouble? And what am I most excited to see once the playoffs start? And because apparently that wasn't enough, there's a hot take, a little Portland Fire conversation (because yes, I already think they could be a playoff team next season), and some love for Bridget Carleton after her performance against the Lynx and why I thought she stepped into an All-Star mindset.Basically… I took a break, the WNBA kept moving, and now we have some catching up to do.-Follow me on social media:https://linktr.ee/toriphillips5-Chapters:00:00 Intro00:17 Topics for the episode & Housekeeping 02:23 Feeling a championship in the air03:30 Hot Topics | DeWanna Bonner to the Dream06:38 Kate Martin | Nneka Ogwumike & Thoughts on the Sparks 10:40 The Mercury? 12:41 Circling back on the Sparks & Kate 18:00 A'ja Wilson and Kelsey Plum | Choosing Health 21:24 Pre-World Cup Thoughts23:29 Checklist to Winning a Chip28:18 Lynx36:18 Valkyries 40:47 Aces 45:47 Fever 51:17 Dream56:35 Liberty 1:04:06 Mystics 1:08:27 Wings 1:12:48 MY HOTTEST TAKE01:13:17 Portland Fire (I Love Y'all for real)1:16:24 Bridget Carleton's Defense is Missed

A detailed look at the astrology forecast for September 2026, with astrologers Chris Brennan and Austin Coppock. We spend the first hour talking about news and events that happened over the past month since our last forecast, and then in the second hour we get into the astrology of September. In the first part of the news section we discuss the strikingly literal manifestations of the recent eclipses in Leo and Pisces, including devastating floods and the deaths of several prominent figures and monarchs. After that we address the recent controversy surrounding Steven Forrest. In terms of the astrology of September, we open the month still coming out of the chaos of eclipse season and the recent Mars-Saturn square, but the first week of September offers some excellent electional opportunities while Mercury and Venus are still in their home signs of Virgo and Libra. There is a major turning point and tone shift around the New Moon in Virgo on September 10, when Uranus stations retrograde in Gemini, and Mercury and Venus both change signs the same day. The astrology culminates late in the month around the Full Moon in Aries on September 26, because right after that Mars moves into Leo and begins to oppose Pluto, while Venus slows down to station retrograde in Scorpio in early October. Ultimately, late September acts as a preparatory phase, setting the stage and introducing the core themes for the intense Venus and Mars retrogrades that will dominate the next several months. SEPTEMBER 2026 ASTROLOGY REPORT ~ Change your mind, change your lifeThe New Story Podcast with healer Rebecca Conran, CHHC, where we explore all things holistic. Mercury features heavily this month, which is appropriate for the Virgo seasonal energy we begin September with. If you want to change your life, begin by changing your mind. Your thoughts and emotions are central to your experience as a human being, and all of the magical experiences to be called in but also repeat patterns can be followed back to your own ideas and inner life. There is a call to action here to be conscious of your own thoughts, dialogue, and mind so that you can become the master of choice regarding it and not be mastered by your subconscious. Rewiring your mind is the hardest but most rewarding work we can do, so you can be damn sure it's appropriate to be paying attention to the mercury energy this month.I help my clients to ground themselves physically, and I support emotional rebalancing. Pull up a chair in the Solarium, pour something warm, and prepare for a very bookish, very witchy catch-up with Laylla and Chelle. This time around, the witches are flipping pages, checking the stars, and knocking a few titles off of their ever-growing magical to-read pile. They explore the music, folklore, and enchantment woven through Irish tradition in Draíocht Ceoil: The Sound of Magic in Irish Traditions by Geraldine Moorkens Byrne, then wander into the shadowy halls of the psyche with Aliza Einhorn's Tarot of the Unconscious, a fascinating look at the connections between tarot, psychoanalysis, symbolism, and everything lurking just beneath the surface. They also crack open Patricia Telesco's Your Book of Shadows and talk about what it offers witches looking to create a magical record that actually feels personal rather than like something copied out of someone else's grimoire. Then it is time to consult the heavens with Wyatt's Astrological Year Calendar 2026 from AstrologicalYear.com and Theresa Reed's The Book of Astrological Returns, exploring how astrology can become something you work with throughout the year instead of something you only remember when Mercury starts acting suspicious. And because no proper Solarium gathering is complete without a little tea, Laylla and Chelle catch up on what has been happening in the wider Pagan community, including Beck Ravenswood's ongoing fight against Pennsylvania's old divination law and the larger questions it raises about religious freedom, fortune telling, and why laws written for another century are still haunting modern witches. There is also plenty of Pagan Pride Day talk, upcoming events, community happenings, books worth adding to your shelf, and the usual wandering conversations that happen when two witches are left alone with caffeine, new magical supplies, and opinions.Come hang out in the Solarium. The books are open, the tea is hot, and apparently Pennsylvania law still needs an exorcism.Got a question? Send the witches a message here!Support the showWant to send us a letter? September is here—and after the big shifts of August, it's time to integrate, recalibrate, and pay attention to what's becoming clearer.Intuitive astrologer and cosmic translator Stevie Calista is back to break down the energy of September 2026 and, most importantly, how to actually work with it.The first week of September is one to watch. Jupiter and Saturn are working together to support growth, creativity, and putting energy back into yourself. At the same time, Mars squares Saturn on September 1, asking: What action needs to change because what you've been doing isn't working anymore? Then September 10 brings a major energetic shift with a Virgo New Moon, Venus moving into Scorpio, Mercury entering Libra, and Uranus stationing retrograde. Stevie shares why grounding, slowing down, and practicing discernment will be especially important.Plus, we get into the Autumn Equinox, the emotional Aries Full Moon on September 26, and why the end of the month may finally bring a little more fun, play, and creative fire.Consider September your invitation to integrate before you accelerate.IN THIS EPISODEWhy September is a month for integration and clarityWhat to watch during the first week of SeptemberThe major energetic shift happening September 10Why discernment is your September superpowerHow to work with the Aries Full MoonWhat Mars moving into Leo means for the weeks aheadMORE FROM STEVIE CALISTAVisit steviecalista.com to learn more about Stevie, her astrology readings and latest offerings.Subscribe to Stevie on Substack: @farmhousemoonFollow Stevie on Instagram @farmhousemoon Visit seekingcentercommunity.com for more with Robyn + Karen and many of the guides on Seeking Center: The Podcast. Buenos Aires bassline, Guadalajara hypnosis – we're premiering Pinto's deep, stripped-back take on Javier Ferreira's Mercury… Javier Ferreira built a bassline from mercury and light, Multi-instrument magic from Buenos Aires to the night; He broke the rhythm loose and let it drive, Through peak-time thunder, after-hours haze, A groove gone liquid in a silver blaze, Deep and functional, and somehow still alive. Then Pinto came along, all sampler and swing, Stripped the groove right back till the silence could sing; Guadalajara hands on a Mexican night, He hypnotised Mercury, slowed down the spark, Turned peak-time to prayer in the after-hours dark, On Playground Records, ten September: liftoff flight. Ferreira's Argentinian – Buenos Aires born, Barcelona based – and has been at this fifteen-odd years: DJ, producer, mixing engineer running his own studio, Soundsfera. He co-runs NINEFONT with his brother Gabriel, a hundred-plus releases deep, and has put tracks out everywhere from Suara to Rotten City. DJ Mag LA called him one of Argentina's top five techno DJs back in 2017; these days he's as likely to be found teaching, having co-founded academies in Buenos Aires (Insound) and Barcelona (BesideSchool). Deeper is three originals where deep basslines, broken rhythms and driving house grooves collide – detailed but functional, working just as well at peak time as three hours past it. The remixes pull in two directions: Pinto takes Mercury deeper and darker, stripping the groove back till tension carries the track instead of rhythm; François Del Mundo & Rem's Martinez go the other way on a separate cut, adding a soaring arpeggio and turning it into a straight-up club weapon. Pinto's from Guadalajara – a Bar Américas resident since 2007, founder of the Localafiesta night, part of the Vatos Locos crew, known for running a sampler as an extra mixer channel back when nobody else was bothering. His read on Mercury fits: strip it back, let it hypnotise rather than hit. Mercury (Pinto Remix), below. Deeper is out 10 September on Playground Records, mastered by Submarea Estudio. Commander Correy and Cadet Happy face double danger on Mercury, racing to rescue a lost scientist frozen on the planet's dark side while stopping a sinister plot by mining saboteurs in the sunlit city of Solaria.
Here’s the shape of September, in one sentence: it’s a month of turning inward while the world asks you to engage outward. There’s a cluster of retrograde planets active pretty much all month — Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto are already retrograde, and partway through the month, Uranus joins them. Four planets moving backward, astrologically, at the same time. For an empath, this actually can be a relief, if you let it. So much of what exhausts us is the forward momentum of the world — the constant doing, deciding, producing, responding. A month with this many retrogrades is a month where the cosmic permission slip says: it’s okay to slow down. It’s okay to revisit. It’s okay to not have the answer yet. But — and here’s the nuance — the inner planets, the fast-moving personal ones: the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Mars, are all direct and quite active this month. So you’re going to feel this tug-of-war: parts of you wanting to reflect, rest, and go inward, while other parts of your life — conversations, relationships, decisions — are moving forward whether you’re ready or not. If you take one thing from this whole episode, let it be this: you’re allowed to let your inner world move at retrograde speed even while your outer world moves at direct speed!
Episode 298In this podcast, New York Times best-selling author and astrologer Chani Nicholas discusses the astrology of the week and what it might mean for us all.The astrology of the week of August 31st, 2026, brings both obstacles and opportunities. When Jupiter (the planet of good fortune) trines Saturn (the planet of structure), it feels like all our hard work is finally paying off and we're being blessed with the growth and abundance that we've cleared space for. But when Mars (the planet of action) squares Saturn, it's a whole different story. This face-off is sure to spark serious frustration and stuck-in-the-mud energy. Thankfully, Mercury (the planet of communication) also makes a supportive sextile to Mars, encouraging conversations that break the tension and clarify where we need to move next. Now's the time to tune in to your intuition and trust your gut. Those instincts will not only help you stay true to yourself, but they'll come in handy when your plans get off track. This episode covers:Jupiter's trine to Saturn on Monday, August 31stMars' square to Saturn on Tuesday, September 1stMercury's sextile to Mars on Tuesday, September 1stThis episode was recorded on 8/5/2026.For more, check out your free daily horoscope on the homepage of the CHANI app — now on iOS and Android.Have you heard? This week, Mars is in conflict with, and Jupiter makes a soothing aspect to, serious Saturn. Mental faculties and manual skills get a supercharged boost with the sextile between Mercury and Mars, and the Gemini Last Quarter Moon manages to express the ideas that the Virgo Sun has given a lot of detailed thought. We have a pretty busy week at the Big Sky HQ as April gets ready for a conference and the Podathon, which starts next week, so we will keep things relatively brief and put off a listener question until after the Podathon! Timestamps [1:34] Jupiter trines Saturn (Aug. 31, 3:17 pm PDT) at 13°41' Leo and Aries. This is the first of three trines that they will make. The other two will come on Apr. 3 and Jul. 11, 2027. Jupiter's Sabian symbol is 14 Leo: The human soul awaiting opportunity for expression. Saturn is on 14 Aries: A serpent coiling near a man and a woman. This aspect balances Jupiter's expansive optimism with Saturn's realistic restraint. Ideal for goals requiring both ambition and discipline. [4:28] Mars squares Saturn (Sep. 1, 2:59 am PDT) at 13°39' Cancer and Aries. Mars' Sabian symbol is 14 Cancer: A very old man facing a vast dark space to the northeast. Treat this transit as a lesson in how to impose more control and discipline over your temper, impulsiveness, and physical drives. [7:51] Mercury sextiles Mars (Sep. 1, 6:21 am PDT) at 13°44' Virgo and Cancer. Mercury is on the Sabian symbol 14 Virgo, A family tree. Be mindful of your words. Great transit for projects that require being good with your hands and having attention to detail. [9:43] Moon Report! The Gemini Last Quarter Moon (Sep. 4, 12:51 am PDT) at 11°48' Gemini and Virgo. This Last Quarter wraps up that New Moon solar eclipse in Leo (Aug. 12, 2026). Consider letting go of the sadness and regret that this eclipse season may have brought. [12:39] This is the Last Quarter phase (last action phase) in a lunar phase family cycle that began with a New Moon on Jun. 6, 2024 (16°17' Gemini). The First Quarter (first action phase) was on Mar. 6, 2025 (16°21' Gemini). The Full Moon (awareness point) occurred on Dec. 4, 2025 (13°3' Gemini). [14:29] Void-of-Course (VOC) Moon periods. The Moon in Aries opposes Venus in Libra (Aug. 31, 12:47 pm PDT). It's VOC then for 12 hours, 14 minutes before it enters Taurus (Sep. 1, 1:01 am PDT). Use this VOC Moon to get in the habit of balancing your desires with somebody else's needs, so that a happy compromise can be reached. [15:57] The Moon in Taurus trines Mercury in Virgo (Sep. 2, 3:47 am PDT). It's VOC for 1 day, 1 hour before it enters Gemini (Sep. 3, 4:47 am PDT). This is a great VOC Moon period to get to the root of an unhealthy habit or issue, so that healing and recovery can take place. [16:57] The Moon in Gemini trines Venus in Libra (Sep. 5, 1:40 am PDT). It's VOC for 5 hours, 50 minutes, and then enters Cancer (7:30 am PDT). Use this VOC Moon to get in the habit of connecting with your neighbors during communal events. Vision Finds Its StructureThe eclipse portal has closed. Integration is underway. This week is quieter in its archetypal signature, fewer major contacts, more spacious rhythm. Exactly what eclipse integration requires. But quieter does not mean insignificant. Monday opens with Jupiter trining Saturn, the cycle named on the horizon last week. And Tuesday brings Mars in Cancer into an honest reckoning with Saturn. After that the week opens into genuine spaciousness.Key Cycles This Week:Monday, August 31: Jupiter in Leo trines Saturn in Aries. To understand what this trine carries, the larger context matters.Jupiter and Saturn are the social planets — describing how transpersonal movements find expression in institutions, cultural narratives, and shared collective agreements. They meet in conjunction every twenty years, and their conjunctions cluster in the same element for roughly two hundred years before shifting. The two-hundred-year earth era, roughly 1800 to 2000, seeded the industrial revolution and the organization of collective life around physical resource and material production. Its shadow is what the current Chiron in Taurus cycle is being asked to heal.In 1980, Jupiter and Saturn met in Libra, an air sign, for the first time, a foreshadowing of the coming shift. Then on the Winter Solstice of 2020 they met at 0 degrees of Aquarius, confirming the arrival of a new two-hundred-year air era. Mind, communication, relationship, and the invisible infrastructures of shared meaning are now the organizing domain. The AI revolution, the fracturing and reformation of how reality is constructed, the question of genuine collective intelligence — these are the opening expressions of that era.Jupiter trine Saturn today is a harmonious moment within the twenty-year cycle seeded in 2020. Vision and structure finding each other with ease. What Jupiter in Leo has been amplifying — creative gifts, authentic visibility, generous offering in service of something larger — now finds the structural ground that allows it to become more than aspiration.Watch in the broader field for genuine vision finding real-world form. And personally, where is what you have been envisioning ready to find more committed honest structure?Tuesday, September 1: Mars in Cancer squares Saturn in Aries. Mercury in Virgo sextiles Mars in Cancer. Mars in Cancer's instinctual protective force meets Saturn's unsentimental reality principle in friction. The tension between what the feeling body knows needs protecting and what is actually sustainable or feasible right now. Not a suppression of the protective impulse, but a call for strategic honesty. What can you actually do, with genuine resources you have, that serves what most needs protecting?Mercury sextiling Mars offers useful counterbalance, the discerning mind in easy flow with your feeling body. Thought and feeling in conversation. A good day for honest strategic thinking about what matters most and what genuine action actually looks like. The Rest of the Week: Genuine spaciousness. No major contacts. Eclipse integration does not happen through analysis or effort. It happens through the body's slower deeper process, through dreams, through what surfaces in quiet moments, through unexpected conversations that open something waiting. Let the spaciousness be what it is.Larger FrameJupiter trine Saturn sits at the intersection of the twenty-year and two-hundred-year cycles, while all three transpersonal cycles remain activated in the background. The choices being made right now — in how we communicate, what we build, what we protect, what we offer in service of something larger — are not small choices. They are being made at a genuine hinge point in the longer story.Jupiter trine Saturn asks that those choices be made with both vision and honest structure. With both the generosity of the open heart and the reality-tested commitment of genuine form.Reflection QuestionsAs Jupiter trines Saturn, what vision that has been forming is ready to find more honest committed structural form?Where is Mars in Cancer's protective instinct being activated, and what does strategic resource-grounded action in service of what most needs protecting actually look like?In the spaciousness of this integration week, what is your body processing that the mind has not yet caught up with?Podcast Poem: The Dream by Rosemerry Whatola TrommerThe Alchemize the Old taster workshop replay is available as a free resource — an experiential introduction to the transformative pattern-breaking work of the Fire elemental spiral. You can find it at my Home page, ontheedgesofchange.com. under What's Open Now. Today, we begin by catching up on major global events. Due to requests, we discuss the devastating disaster in Nepal and the passing of our beloved Dolly Parton. Both stories reflect themes that feel especially connected to Ketu. With Sun, Mercury, and Ketu in Magha (governed by Ketu), it truly demonstrates loss, separation, and impermanence. ***At 26:31 I mention that this period can be a time of loss due to Sun, Ketu, and Mercury being in a Ketu ruled nakshatra. I meant to say MAGHA instead of Mula (: From there, we take a deeper look at Ketu. Ketu is associated with detachment, moksha, liberation, intuition, spiritual insight, and past life karma. Its placement in the birth chart can reveal where we possess awareness and familiarity, but may also experience disconnection, discontentment, or a desire to transcend worldly matters. We also explore Ketu in transit. Ketu transits can often coincide with abrupt separations, accidents, confusion, and unsettling experiences.... but also deepen perception, nostalgia, and the return of people, memories, or unresolved matters from the past. Finally, we discuss Ketu in synastry, including my personal favorite Venus/Ketu connections. These relationships can feel immediately familiar, comforting, and profoundly karmic. Before We Dive InRecording this on August 26th, and I want to say clearly at the start: I am feeling a bit low. The eclipse energy has been personally challenging in a number of ways, and also — Dolly Parton and Tim Curry have both passed, within days of each other. Both around 80 years old. I loved them both, for very different reasons, and I find their passing sitting in me in that particular way that celebrity deaths sometimes do, when someone has been part of the landscape of your whole life.I'm telling you this because it's also very much the energy of this week. This is the come-down after eclipse season. If you're feeling deflated, that's appropriate. That's the astrology. The cards are honest about it — but they end in a place of genuine hope. If you're looking for that hopeful note right now, go and watch the September 10th Virgo New Moon video I just put up. That one has more light in it.This week: do your inner work. Go into the woods. Slow your roll.Subscribe free on Substack for all posts in your inbox. Spiral Weave / Spiral Codex membership — $10/month or $90/year.Venus Retrograde: Heroine's Journey — I'll decide on the final pricing when I'm back from Chicago. For now, it's still open and I'll let you know. Two tiers: the basic Venus Retrograde course, and Dragon Rider (adds a year of Spiral Codex membership, a 30-minute one-on-one with me, and a personal gift). louiseedington.com/VenusRetrograde2026One more small thing: if you enjoy astrology AND music, Chris Brennan did an extraordinary interview with Roland Orzabal from Tears for Fears about his astrology memoir. It's worth your time. I've listened twice and bought the hard copy. The Energy of This WeekWe come off the lunar eclipse on August 28th and begin to wane. The week opens with the Moon in Aries and ends with it in Cancer, waning all the while, heading toward the September 10th new moon. We are in the shedding phase. What makes this week distinctive — and why the message keeps being the same — is the sheer number of retrograde planets in Aries: Neptune, Manwë, Saturn, Pallas Athena, Eris, and Vesta, all moving backwards. When the Aries Moon moves through them, each conjunction or activation is saying: slow down. Go in. Revisit. Review. Do not charge forward. Aries likes action and speed; the retrogrades are applying the brakes. The overall prescription for this week: radical, extraordinary self-care. More than you normally would. The whole week is a churn of inner processing. Let it do its work.Three more things to note:Pluto is out of bounds until December 5th — as it will be for a few months around this time of year until 2035. Going out of bounds to the south, which Rosie Finn's book Persephone's Revolution associates with people rising up and more peaceful collective energy. We are in that window.Sedna stations retrograde this week (Thursday) — her 11,406-year orbit is so slow that her stations are gentler than most, but she's still asking: dig deeper into your perceptions and adaptations. She was last in Gemini at the end of the Great Ice Ages.Venus is entering the shadow of her retrograde — she hits 21°50' Libra at the start of the week, which is the point she'll return to when she stations direct on November 13th. Start paying attention now to what comes up around your values, your relationships, your sense of justice and beauty, your desires. Everything that surfaces in the next few weeks will have something to say when Venus goes retrograde in October.Only Venus, Mercury, and the Sun have passed the South Node and Regulus so far. Everyone else is still coming. Gradually, one by one.The Cards — A First GlanceFrom the Red Seeds Tarot and the Witch Oracle: Two of Bees, Eight of Seeds reversed, Ten of Bees, and The Witch.Tension. Disengagement. Then: revelation. And then the Witch herself — the one in total control of herself — to close. More at the end.Day by DaySunday, August 30 — Moon in Aries. Slow Your Horses. Venus Enters Her Shadow. The Moon is freshly in Aries — and immediately hits all those retrograde planets. A sextile to Sedna (about to station), a sextile to Pluto activating the basket at 4°, then the Moon conjuncts Neptune — stop and smell the coffee. Tune in to your intuition. There is nothing to rush into right now. The Moon then sextiles Uranus — the aha question of this whole period: who am I in this new world we're building? That's worth sitting with. The Moon squares Ceres in Cancer — do your self-care. Take care of yourself first, and then you are able to care for and protect your loved ones. And squares Pholus — the lid is still coming off things. The Moon is being slowed at every turn. Neptune is particularly potent here: the retrograde Aries cluster, every one of them applying the brakes to the Aries Moon's natural preference for speed. Slow your horses. We are not at full speed ahead yet.The Moon conjuncts Pallas Athena (revisiting strategy and pattern recognition), then conjuncts Eris (tables turning, but within — going in to see what you need to overturn in your own life), then squares Juno (renegotiating contracts), sextiles Hekate (the torchbearer is saying: the path forward is through your inner truths), and finally conjuncts Vesta (inner flame — what are you devoted to, really?). Before the day closes, the Moon conjuncts Saturn — a hard stop. Reality check. Put the brakes on.Venus at 21°50' Libra directly opposes Pallas Athena retrograde — the strategist, the pattern-recognizer, looking keenly back at Venus. Slow down. Think through your relationships, your values, your sense of justice. See the patterns before you charge on. Venus is covering ground she will cover again during the retrograde. Pay attention to what surfaces.Black Moon Lilith makes a fire trine to Eris and Vesta, and sextiles Hekate — that inner feminine rage at injustice, in flowing conversation with the table-turners and the inner flame, with the way-shower lighting the path. And Mercury in Virgo trines Pholus — more information coming to light. More things being seen.Monday, August 31 — Saturn Squares Asteroid Lilith. Black Moon Lilith Enters Capricorn. Earth Grand Trine.Saturn at 13° Aries squares Asteroid Lilith in Cancer. Thirteen — the number of the goddess, the witch. Saturn in Aries retrograde is revisiting the rules, the structures, the identities we've been building. Asteroid Lilith — the talk-to-the-hand, we-were-created-equal, original divine feminine — is in the Moon's sign, looking around and asking: how are all our needs being met? How are outsiders' needs being met? It's a hard look, again, before we do anything more. Saturn can bring the “shoulds” — and this week: don't. It will still be there later.Black Moon Lilith reaches the end of Sagittarius and enters Capricorn — the sign of our institutions, structures, and the man-made rules we live under. And the moment she crosses into Capricorn, she trines Regulus at 0° Virgo and Chiron at 0° Taurus — an Earth Grand Trine. The exiled feminine energy, in flowing conversation with the Royal Star that now speaks of future stewards, and with the medicine man shining his light on wounds and healing. The way forward is this world. This experience. Being on this Earth, which is our home.Jupiter at 13° Leo trines Saturn at 13° Aries. Thirteen — the goddess number, the witch number, also a number of creation (Fibonacci, phi). This is the opening trine of the cycle that began at the Great Conjunction in December 2020 — Jupiter and Saturn at 0° Aquarius, the beginning of the Age of Air. Now Jupiter has moved into Leo and this is the first flowering of that seed. We have to change these man-made rules that are not in alignment with the natural laws of the universe. That's what this aspect is saying. In the number of the goddess, no less. The Moon in Aries moves through Pallas Athena (revisiting strategy), opposes Venus (emotions stirred around what Venus is covering in her pre-retrograde territory — feel it, don't push it away), conjuncts Eris (more inner table-turning), squares Juno, sextiles Hekate, conjuncts Vesta.Tuesday, September 1 — Moon Into Taurus. Mars Squares Saturn. Mercury Meets Circe. The Brakes. The Moon finishes its Aries passage by aspecting the Nodes (still at 29° until October 9th — eclipse energy still reverberating) before moving into Taurus at 4:01am Eastern. Immediately, the Moon conjuncts Chiron — the shaman, the medicine man, hands-on healing. Earth. Body. Values. The wound and the medicine.Venus at 23° Libra makes a lovely unbroken flow aspect to Chariklo in Aquarius — the cosmic doula, Chiron's consort, the grace-spinner, holding space for the new story we're weaving. I am here with you. I am helping you weave it.Then the aspect that defines the day: Mars in Cancer squares Saturn in Aries. Mars in Cancer is already uncomfortable — fire in water, drive dampened by sensitivity. And Saturn in Aries is retrograde, in Mars's own sign. One foot on the accelerator, one foot on the brake. Except this week: it is far more brake than accelerator. If you feel the shoulds pressing in — I should be doing this, I should be doing that — this week is not the time. What needs to be done will still be there after you've rested and gone in. The brakes are on for a reason.Mercury in Virgo meets Circe the Sorceress — Circe is also conjunct the upcoming Virgo New Moon, which feels intentional. Mercury saying: get into the details, go in and do some inner sorcery and magic. The craftsmanship here is interior. Mercury then sextiles Asteroid Lilith — she's in there too, having a very good look at what she's going to say no to. Not performing the no yet. Looking clearly. The Taurus Moon Earth-trines the Virgo Sun and Pholus at around 9-10° — a pull to earth, to the somatic, to the body, to roots. Get your bare feet on the ground. Do grounding meditations. Go into the woods. That's why I chose the Red Riding Hood image for this week — the feminine going into the woods, into the inner world, is the heroine's journey. Read those old fairy tales from a different lens.Wednesday, September 2 — Moon in Taurus. Everything Is Within. The Taurus Moon squares Jupiter at 13° Leo — the natural laws of the universe, in the sign of the heart, at the goddess number again. The pattern of all of these 13° aspects this week is unmistakable.Everything is pointing inward. Everything is saying: come into balance and harmony within your nervous system. These eclipses have been nerve-jangling. If you feel your nervous system a bit fried, that's both appropriate and fixable. You have the tools. Use them. The Moon sextiles Mars (still cooling its jets, heading toward Asteroid Lilith), and the Sun trines Black Moon Lilith — with Okyrhoe the seer joining that aspect. This is about uncovering your inner seer. Going to the depth within that knows things before the mind catches up. The inner oracle.Thursday, September 3 — Sedna Stations Retrograde. Moon Into Gemini. Basket Activated. The Taurus Moon makes an Earth trine to Juno — our sacred contracts with each other, held in the flowing earth energy that's been the backbone of this week. This Earth trine has been holding the whole week: pulling inward, pulling down to ground, pulling roots deeper.Sedna stations retrograde in Gemini. Her 11,406-year orbit means she was last in Gemini at the end of the Great Ice Ages. Her stations are slower-burning than closer-in planets, but this is still a turning point: dig deeper into your perceptions, your ideas, your words, your thinking. How do you need to shift? How do you need to adapt?Black Moon Lilith squares Saturn — now in his own sign Capricorn, pressing against the rules and structures of our institutions. More things being seen. More reality checks arriving. This is not the moment to rail at every little thing. It's the moment to take it in, to see clearly, to know what you're looking at before you act.The Taurus Moon reaches 27-29° — the Pleiades degrees. This may feel like a tender, even sad day. The Pleiades carry the grief of endings and the beauty of the in-between. With Dolly and Tim Curry's passing this week, and with so much being released in the collective, let yourself feel what's there. The Moon then squares Hekate, squares the Nodes, and begins moving toward the drain of the South Node.At 7:47am Eastern, the Moon enters Gemini and immediately meets Sedna — who just stationed retrograde, all that adapt-or-transform energy newly concentrated. The Moon then trines Pluto, sextiles Neptune, conjuncts Uranus — the basket, again. The cradle activated. The aha moment: something about letting go. Something about death and rebirth. Something about what's trying to move through.Mars is opposed by Black Moon Lilith at 2:44pm Eastern — a question not about action but about wisdom. Is the action we're taking coming from a wise place? Or are we just acting? Black Moon Lilith is a lunar point, not a physical body — she's the inner voice, the interior knowing. Are we using her wisdom to shape what we do?Friday, September 4 — Last Quarter Moon. Venus Opposes Eris. Inner Tables Turning. The Gemini Moon (out of bounds since late Wednesday or Thursday) squares the Sun — Last Quarter Moon at approximately 11:48am Eastern. Eleven: the master number, the gateway. What are we letting go of before we step through this doorway? Not one big doorway — a series of doorways. That's what this whole period is. Each week, another door. What are we releasing at this one?The Last Quarter Moon is always a crisis in consciousness — the moment of maximum tension before the letting go. In this context, coming off eclipse season, it's the inner churn before the new moon plant.Venus at 25° Libra opposes Eris — more inner tables to turn. Not out there, not yet. Going within, looking at strategy and patterns, recognizing what needs to be overturned within your own relating and your own values before you bring a new version of yourself to the world. The Moon sextiles Saturn (opportunity to let go of self-limiting beliefs, old rules we were taught to live by) and sextiles Jupiter (the curious Gemini Moon trying to make sense of it all through the lens of the natural laws).Mars meets Asteroid Lilith at 15° Cancer — the midpoint of the degree, the middle of Cancer. Mars will move ahead of her after this. But she is right there with him, saying: you are more of a protector and a guardian than you have been portrayed. Right now, at this moment — using the language of internal family systems — you are my inner protector. You are here to help me move within, do more self-care, love myself more. You are the guardian of my interior, not just the warrior taking on the external world. If your inner Mars is feeling frustrated and angry (Mars doesn't love Cancer), you can actually talk to that part of yourself: I know you're here to help me. Right now your job is to protect my inner work, not to attack everything out there. The Moon squares Mercury — information, details, adjustments, what you think. All of it inside.Venus squares Juno — we are rewriting the contracts. With each other, and with ourselves.Saturday, September 5 — Moon Into Cancer. Venus and Hekate. One Last Look at the Toxins. The Gemini Moon finishes its journey — way out of bounds — making last aspects to the retrograde planets in Aries: Pallas Athena, Eris, Vesta. Fire and air. What do I need to burn off? What ideas need to be released? What does the inner flame actually want? Intense, but passing. At 10:30am Eastern, the Moon enters Cancer — her own sign — and sextiles Chiron. The wound and the medicine. The shaman. What's the medicine I've become because of what I've been through?Venus makes a lovely unbroken flow aspect to Hekate — the way-shower, the torchbearer, the triple moon goddess at the crossroads. Venus and Hekate work together beautifully during Venus retrogrades (you'll experience this directly in the class), and this pre-retrograde aspect is a preview: pay attention to your inner voice about which paths to choose. Which direction through the woods of your inner self is being illuminated? The Cancer Moon trines Haumea — pure regeneration, the Hawaiian creatrix, the handle of the basket. She hasn't been aspected much this week, and here at the close she shows up to say: something new is being birthed from all of this. Something is regenerating. And the Moon squares Neptune — Haumea moving forward, Neptune moving back, an aspect of adjustment between the two Mars signs (Aries and Scorpio). We are moving into a more Venusian era. We cannot stay where we were. The last aspect of the week: one more look at the toxins, at what needs to be released, at what we've been carrying that belongs to the past. What more can I let go of to be a better ancestor? (If you want to go deeper on Nessus, there's a beautiful blog post from the Amalthea website — search “Amalthea Nessus” — and the author contributed to Sideways from Saturn, the book on the centaurs that I wrote the foreword for.)The Cards in DetailTwo of Bees (Swords) — I Am Tension:Proverbs: “Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.”This week suggests difficult choices and decisions. Your ideas and opinions may be questioned — by others and, perhaps more intensely, by yourself. You may feel mentally paralyzed as you try to navigate stress, uncertainty, and inner conflict. How do we move forward? Balance the tension of the opposites. Hold the tension of not knowing the outcome for a while. Clarity and a balanced view will make itself known. Positive choices and insightful decisions will arise from the centre of your being, once you've taken time to contemplate and listen to yourself before you act.And remember that quote when you speak to yourself this week: gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Including when you are talking inside your own head.Eight of Seeds (Pentacles), reversed — I Am Disengaged:Upright, the Eight of Seeds is productive, diligent, sowing and harvesting. Reversed this week: I feel disengaged. I feel like I've never done enough, like I'm not good enough. The inner perfectionist shows up.This is an Earth card, and its very reversal is the prescription: self-development and inner work. Not productive outer work. The shadow of Virgo — the perfectionism, the not-enoughness — can come through here. Let it be acknowledged and then gently set aside. You don't have to perform productivity right now.Ten of Bees (Swords) — I Am Revelation:Khalil Gibran: “For the bee, the flower is the fountain of life. For the flower, the bee is the messenger of love.”This is the card I was genuinely glad to see at the end of this challenging set. Here it is:We have tripped up and plummeted along the way, and now know what rock bottom feels like. It has challenged us. Self-pity, at times, has heightened our suffering. However, in reality, the rocks actually grounded us, and a relief and an understanding is starting to rise up within us. It is clear that we have been stung into waking up to some hard truths. Our ego may have been battered, and we may feel sore, vulnerable, as we reflect on what appear to be failures and endings that lie behind us.The good news is: the worst is over, for this week. The weight we have carried is finally lifting. We have survived, and our stings will heal. Our wings gently unfurl, and we start to ascend, breathing in the clear air, and dancing into a new beginning.By the end of the week, you will start to feel the call of the new moon. Not quite there yet. But coming. The Witch (Witch Oracle) — I Am Coordinating, Not Dominating:“Control. No woman alive today needs a dictionary to know what control means within a toxic patriarchy. She's experienced it a thousand different ways. It is domination and restraint. But in a balanced psyche and in a balanced culture, control can mean something else entirely.A witch experiences control through cooperation rather than competition. She is engaged with all the parts of her psyche in an attempt to coordinate rather than dominate. You are being asked right now to embrace all the inhabitants of your inner realm, because each deserves respect and a place at the table. Even the unruly, the inconvenient, the ugly. Making space for all under the banner of wild inclusion — giving voice to the shame, malice, and anger, as well as every other outlawed part of the psyche — is the way we create integrity. When your intent is to create rather than compete, you don't have to dominate. Your influence is enough. This is power with, rather than power over.Invite whatever is bothering you today into the realm of inclusion. Assert your inner authority.”Coordinate, don't dominate. Including inside yourself. This is the whole week. This is the whole work.Summing UpPost-eclipse. Waning. Brakes firmly on. The Aries retrogrades slowing everything down, saying not yet, not yet. The Earth Grand Trine pulling us down to roots and soil and body. The 13s showing up everywhere — the goddess number, the witch number — at Saturn and Jupiter and the Moon's aspects. Venus entering her pre-retrograde territory and asking us to start paying attention. Sedna stationing to dig deeper into how we adapt. The Last Quarter Moon at the gateway number, releasing before the new moon. The rocks grounded us. The wings are beginning to unfurl.Go into the woods. Slow your roll. Do the radical self-care. Talk to your inner Mars. Embrace all the inhabitants of your inner realm. And coordinate, don't dominate — inside and out.The new moon is coming on September 10th. Dr Ian 'Astroblog' Musgrave returns with your essential guide to the September night sky — Venus at its greatest brilliancy (mag -4.5), the Moon's occultation of Antares, and Mercury lining up with Venus and Spica at dusk.
This episode starts with a listener trying to solve a very real problem: how to get wheelchair-accessible seating for Rizz Show Night at the Blues game when the normal accessibility option isn't showing up for the theme-night tickets. Instead of letting Zach wander endlessly through ticketing menus designed by somebody who apparently hates convenience, Riz decides to pass the issue along and try to get him some actual help. Then the show turns to a frightening story out of Columbia, Missouri, where a 21-year-old former Mizzou student suffered severe injuries after falling from the rooftop area at Harpo's. The crew talks about what was known about the accident, the young man's condition, and their own experiences with Columbia's downtown, the Blue Note, Shakespeare's, old venues and the college-town scene. It's a genuinely awful situation, and everybody's hoping the kid pulls through. But because this is a funny show physically incapable of traveling in a straight line, we eventually get an update on the earlier 49ers prostitution-sting discussion. A listener from Ohio introduces the theory of a possible “Sunday brunch special,” which only creates more questions about how a wealthy NFL owner allegedly winds up at an East Palestine trailer park at 9:30 in the morning. Then comes the important question nobody else is brave enough to investigate: What kind of car are you driving into that situation? And then Simpleton Trivia arrives to destroy everybody's self-esteem.The premise sounds insultingly easy: answer 10 common-knowledge questions in 45 seconds. Get one wrong and you're immediately done. Callers can either take the challenge themselves for two pairs of tickets or put their faith in somebody from The Rizzuto Show and bet on—or against—them. What could possibly go wrong?Everything.Chris steps up first and is immediately asked how many days are in a leap year. His answer? 365. Goodbye, Chris. Thanks for playing.Matt looks unstoppable. Hours in two days? 48. Capital of the United States? Washington, D.C. Sides on a stop sign? Eight. South Pole? Antarctica. He's cruising toward victory until Rafe asks what color you get when you mix red and yellow.Green.Orange. It's orange. Then Tom makes the smartest decision anybody makes during the entire game: bet against Lern. She powers through skin, inches, Mercury, multiplication and Thanksgiving before the trees show up. Pine tree? Deciduous?Evergreen.Congratulations, Tom. You have successfully weaponized our stupidity for free Blues tickets.Mark tries next and comes flying out of the gate powered by Pepsi and Red Bull, which sounds medically questionable but strategically promising. He handles math, directions, colors, decades and elephants before being asked which state is known as the Sunshine State.California.Damn.Then a caller decides to trust Riz. This goes spectacularly well for roughly zero seconds. His first question: how many nickels make $1.25?And thus “25, damn” joins “California, damn” and “deciduous, damn” in the rapidly expanding Simpleton Trivia Hall of Shame.Surely Moon can save the reputation of the funny show, right?A caller puts his faith in Moon because Moon hasn't let him down in five years. Even worse, the caller wants Blues tickets so he can take his daughter to her first Blues game. The emotional stakes are unnecessarily high. Everybody tells him not to tell the kid yet.Moon starts strong. Seven times eight? Sand makes glass? Bald eagle? Caterpillars become butterflies? Springfield? Then Rafe asks how many months have 31 days.Moon says five. It's seven.Somewhere, an imaginary child begins crying in study hall. There's one final shot at redemption when Miranda puts her faith in Moon for AC/DC and Foo Fighters tickets so she can take her nine-year-old son to his first show. Again, everybody immediately makes this far more emotionally devastating than a morning-radio trivia game has any right to be.Moon crushes the equator, 50 states, rubies, multiplication, frogs, Canada, spider legs and photosynthesis. Then comes bread. What's the main ingredient?Yeast? Water?Flour. The game is over, dignity is dead, and Tom—the guy who had the good sense to bet against the show—is basically the only person walking away happy. This funny show has once again proven something important: never underestimate common knowledge, never trust a radio personality with your child's concert dreams, and if you're offered the opportunity to bet against The Rizzuto Show, maybe take it.Deciduous. Damn.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

The Pisces lunar eclipse arrives on August 28th, and with a tight square to Uranus, it could bring some unexpected changes. In this episode, we'll look at the astrological “nuts and bolts” of this eclipse, including the Uranus square, its opposition to Mercury in Virgo, a supportive trine to Mars, and how to make sense of a “final” eclipse in this sign for years to come. Finally I'll also walk through two real-life charts to show how the exact same series of eclipses can play out very differently and how you can begin identifying the story in your own chart.Want more astrology from me?
