Welcome to this week’s What’s On! Guide. It’s Episode 80 of the podcast. Órla McNabola runs through with you a very heritage and culture-filled week of events around the county. Tomorrow evening, Friday 20th September, Leitrim will come alive with a host of free events across the county, showcasing our culture and heritage for Culture Night 2019. Christine Kelly from the Arts Office of Leitrim County Council has the lowdown on all that’s going on. Tomorrow night, Irish Times journalist, author and Carrick native Ronan McGreevy will be in The Reading Room in Carrick on Shannon at 6:30pm. He’ll be chatting about the books that made him with Orlagh Kelly. And then later to Glenfarne to The Ballroom of Romance. A night of Irish music and culture will take place from 7pm-10pm. Niall Speak from the famous Glenfarne ballroom lets Órla know all that our listeners can expect tomorrow night. The Arignaramus, a one-man show will have a rehearsed reading in The Dock at 9pm. Written by Wayne Denniston and starring Conor Lambert, writer Wayne Denniston joins Órla to give listeners a feel of what you can expect from tomorrow night’s open rehearsal at 9pm. After a hectic weekend with the Downton Abbey premiere, Justin Farrell from Carrick Cineplex is back for our run-through of the newest flicks in the cinema. Their culture night specials include showings of The Breadwinner and Rosie and live music in their Café Paradiso. Coláiste na bhFiann is a nationwide Irish language summer college. Their youth clubs gather weekly in various spots around the county and they are back with a bang tonight after a busy summer. Niamh McCauley has all the details. Breifne wraps up this week’s What’s On! Guide with a preview of the weekend’s sporting action.
