We are back from Creativation and talk about a week full of fun, friends and hugs! Having been to the CHA Mega Show last year and attending the new Creativation this year, I can honestly say THIS was the BEST of the two shows. Find out about the changes from last year to this year along with the new direction the Craft and Hobby Association is going with the Association for Creative Industries (AFCI) in today's podcast with Jason Baum and Jeffrey Malaney.
Today, we interview Mark Hill the CEO of the Craft and Hobby Association. With Creativation just around the corner, we wanted to find out about the changes, the benefits of attending Creativation and find out who his favorite meet up was!
Deadly toys discussed include Steven's Model Dockyard Locomotive, Slip 'n' Slide, lawn darts, Cabbage Patch Snack Time doll, the Gilbert Atomic Energy Lab, Flubber, Silly String, Koba Kick, Hang Ten Mini-Hammock, Bucky Balls, Water Balz, Aquadots and more! Well, next week we're off to the Craft and Hobby Association show. It's always a lot of fun to go and see what's debuting in the crafting world. This time we plan to do, and film ourselves doing, a lot of the make & take activities. We figure if we try out some products and tools we'll come up with new ways to use them with clay! Be sure to visit next week, we'll be putting up some of that footage for PCTV.
Join us as we share with you the experiences we had while at this winter's CHA show, the artists we met, the demos we saw, and the products we encountered.
To see more about Bottles of Hope, visit www.bottlesofhope.org Our friend Lisa Pavelka once again served as the Master of Ceremonies for this winter's competition, entitled "Hope on a Rope." Contestants created themed necklaces each featuring a bottle. Necklaces will be auctioned off and the proceeds given to cancer research charities. One of our PCAGOE members entered a cute necklace with a delightful sculptured monkey, and the Best of Show award went to an incredible rendering of the familiar monsters from "Where the Wild Things Are." Watch and see... and we'll be creating a slide show of closeups of the entries for you to enjoy.
We share our thoughts with you this week about the CHA show we will be visiting this Saturday-Wednesday. Enjoy!
