This is a recording of my great-uncle Saul Wineman who was a radio and television broadcaster under the name Paul Winter. He broadcasted his talk radio show “The Paul Winter Show” from 1965 until late 1969 or early 1970 on WTAK in Detroit, during which time he covered the race riots among other subjects, and this was his final farewell program before he moved to a different radio station in Minneapolis. You will hear him talk and banter with familiar callers who read him poems and say goodbye, and he sings two songs that are very personal to him. From a retrospective booklet by the Detroit radio station WJR: “[The Paul Winter Show] is a collage of Broadway and film music, reviews of plays, books, historical events, fashion, fancy, human foibles and almost anything else that come into a brilliant, concerned and creative mind. One day, he may launch a metaphorical balloon to honor the ‘Mad Montogofier Brothers,' or he may build an entire show around the far from dignified Elizabethan theatre, or comedy features drawn from his inventive and bizarre sense of humor.” I do not think this recording is available anywhere else, and is a record of an era of talk radio that has evolved beyond recognition. I found this among his collection of 1/4” tape reels which my great-aunt Marilyn kept after he died, along with his old Sony-o-Matic tape machine which I used to play the tape and record it digitally. His voice emerging from his own tape machine is a brief and stirring resurrection. My original recording was 26 minutes long. I have edited it down to 20 minutes to fit the submission requirements, cutting an excerpt from a Nichols and May album, part of “Manjā De Carnaval”, and commercials, which can all be found elsewhere. Recording provided by Eric Sluyter. This is part of the Obsolete Sounds project, the world's biggest collection of disappearing sounds and sounds that have become extinct – remixed and reimagined to create a brand new form of listening. “ALWAYS AND FOREVER”The last episode of Season 1 – everyone is super disappointed that there were not more episodes because everyone loved the show so much. The show starts with a recap of all dance competitions and Justin says that with success comes baggage. Then there are all the Marcella scenes recaps. We see Kiana very worried if she will make the team. Then there are the recaps of all Justin family scenes with his sisters.Justin announces the Alyssa Edwards ONE WOMAN SHOW.He has to prepare for that and also for the Winter Show, which is kind of like a recital – a show for friends and family for the Beyond Belief Dance Studio.Justin says that Winter Show is the real competition because it is internal. The kids are competing against each other. He then announces that the Elite Teams will be smaller next season, which puts extra stress on the Moms.Justin is so happy that there has been so much positive progress with his sisters and his dream is that they will come to his one woman show to watch him perform.Dance Mom Gina and Justin get into a huge fight. We discuss how hard it is on a parent to always accept the coaches decisions, because we want to protect our children.Dawn defends Justin and says that he is the kindest person and wants the best for everyone but when backed in a corner by Dance Moms he can have a wicked tongue.Justin is the bigger person and apologizes. We see the One Woman Show and Justin’s sisters are there cheering him on in the front row and it is so great to see their relationship repaired. Now Justin says he has to repair one more relationship and it is with Marcella. He says Marcella is a beautiful soul and she was going through a lot.We see Marcella drive up and bring lunch and Justin says that he really believes they make a great Duo just like it was intended from the beginning and if she wants to come back he would love to have her back.He said that he needs someone and she is such a big asset to him and that he will have her back and she needs to have his back.He tells her to sleep on it and to let him know.Everyone hopes for Season 2 and Gabrielle tries to find out from Marcella what decision she made but she refuses to tell us and says everyone will have to wait to find out.We see Winter Show where it is very stressful backstage, because everyone wants to make the team but there will be cuts.Gabrielle tells some behind the scenes from the Winter show.Next Seasons elite Company is announced except for the last spot.Justin says he is not ready to make that decision and then says he will have an open audition for it.We cannot even imagine how many people will show up for that.No one really knows what decision Justin will make. He might start over and nobody’s spot is guaranteed. Who knows.Alyssa with the popcorn is our favorite scene and the show and the first season ends with a tongue pop. To end our we read an article written by Decider Magazine about when there will be Season 2.

To see more about Bottles of Hope, visit www.bottlesofhope.org Our friend Lisa Pavelka once again served as the Master of Ceremonies for this winter's competition, entitled "Hope on a Rope." Contestants created themed necklaces each featuring a bottle. Necklaces will be auctioned off and the proceeds given to cancer research charities. One of our PCAGOE members entered a cute necklace with a delightful sculptured monkey, and the Best of Show award went to an incredible rendering of the familiar monsters from "Where the Wild Things Are." Watch and see... and we'll be creating a slide show of closeups of the entries for you to enjoy.
