Rope Podcast

Vetting is the process of deciding whether someone is a good fit before you trust them as a rope partner. It might sound simple, but in practice there's a lot to consider - your context, your risk tolerance, and what information actually matters. In this episode, Fox and Mya explore how vetting can shift over time, the different types of risk you might weigh, and how to approach references with a critical lens. They discuss what information can be useful, the role of asking intentional questions, and how instinct and bias can both shape your decisions. They also cover common red flags, why self-awareness is key to vetting others effectively, and share their own personal approaches to the process.

Hey Disney Geeks! This week, Curtis is joined once again by one of our favorite members of the Geekin' family — Kayleen — as she shares a Walt Disney World trip report from a rare just-the-two-of-them Disney vacation with her husband Scott. This trip had a little bit of everything we love around here… Rope drop strategy Split-stay resort talk Disney food and drinks Animal Kingdom stories Magic Kingdom nostalgia Lounge reviews And that classic Disney Geek energy where “relaxing” somehow still means walking 10 miles a day. Kayleen and Scott stayed at both Old Key West and Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village, tried several new experiences, and packed a TON into this couples getaway. Animal Kingdom Adventures This episode includes a really fun Animal Kingdom conversation featuring: Active animals during a late-afternoon safari Lions out on the rocks Giraffes walking directly down the safari path First impressions of Zootopia Together Thoughts on Disney attraction re-themes and updates Nomad Lounge hype finally becoming reality Kayleen also shares a fantastic first visit to Nomad Lounge, including: Churros Wings Great drinks Excellent Cast Member interactions And why the wait was absolutely worth it Hardcore Magic Kingdom Strategy Kayleen and Scott are NOT the “sleep in and relax” Disney couple. These two are: First bus people Rope drop people Lightning Lane people “Let's cross the park four times today” people Their Magic Kingdom strategy includes: Rope dropping Space Mountain Pirates multiple times Haunted Mansion multiple times Tron via Lightning Lane Tiana's Bayou Adventure Seven Dwarfs Mine Train And averaging roughly TEN MILES of walking per day That's elite Disney Geek behavior right there. Disney Food & Drinks Talk As always… we geek out HARD over food. This episode includes discussion about: Summer House on the Lake Lavender Haze cocktails Tilefish specials Boma Wailulu Pecos Bill Columbia Harbor House lobster rolls Flower & Garden snacks And planning your meals around future meals because… yes… that's what Disney Geeks do. The Heart of the Episode What makes this episode especially fun is hearing how Disney changes during a couples-only trip. It's slower in some ways… Faster in others… And full of those little moments where longtime Disney fans realize: “Yep… this is OUR kind of Disney trip.” There's also a lot of nostalgia here… From Main Street feelings… To memories of early Disney vacations… To conversations about classic attractions and reimagined favorites. Welcome back to the Messy Success Podcast! This week, Elizabeth is sitting down with sponsorship coach and author Justin Moore of Creator Wizard to talk about what sponsorships are, why so many small businesses and creators are leaving money on the table, and how to completely change the way you pitch brands. If you have ever wondered whether sponsorships are even worth pursuing, or if you have sent a pitch and heard nothing back, this episode is for you. Whether you are a brick and mortar, an event host, a podcaster, or a local content creator, Justin breaks down why the problem is almost never your audience size. It is the approach. Elizabeth and Justin go deep on the ROPE method for writing a sponsorship proposal that actually lands, why affiliates are not the same as sponsorships, and what happened when Elizabeth applied Justin's framework to her own in-person event and made more money than ever before. They also do a live coaching moment using a real brand, so you can hear exactly how this thinking works in practice. This is the kind of conversation that makes you look at your business and think, I have been sitting on so much opportunity. Take a listen and start seeing what is already possible for you.

With an infectious delight in what she calls “macramé with humans,” Mystrix brings a thoughtful, creative approach to minimalistic western rope. In this conversation, she shares how her style focuses on adapting rope to the individual - prioritizing intention, efficiency, and connection over complexity. We talk about her journey into rope, what continues to fuel her passion, and how her perspective has evolved over time. The discussion explores tying diverse bodies, navigating the scene as a fat femme rigger, and the importance of understanding physics - especially when working with larger or squishier bodies. The episode also covers the differences between shibari and minimalistic western rope, separating rope from other kink dynamics, and the practical and creative choices that shape her practice; from rope materials like POSH to incorporating scent and sensory elements. Mystrix frames rope as playful problem-solving: a balance of fundamentals, curiosity, and continuous refinement. Her focus is on creating experiences where bottoms feel strong, supported, and fully seen - while emphasizing that rope should always adapt to the person, not the other way around.

Join today's sermon podcast reflecting on Hebrews 6:13–20, where the preacher ties a Mother's Day message to the promise of God. Using Abraham's long wait and God's unchangeable oath, the sermon points to Jesus as the firm, secure anchor for the soul. The episode offers five practical ways to live anchored in hope during life's storms: attach your struggles to God's promises, practice anchor prayers, choose faithful responses, remove false anchors, and reach out to others who are drifting. A concise, encouraging call to trust God while you wait. ---- A Better Hope Hebrews 6:13–20 Introduction: “Mom, You Were My Anchor” Main Idea: When everything else feels unstable, God's promise in Jesus is the one anchor you can trust not to move. Learning to Wait Well (6:13–15) God often grows us in His “waiting room,” where faith and patience are formed even when we cannot see what He's doing. Why You Really Can Be Sure (6:16–18) Our security rests on two unchangeable things: God's promise and God's oath—and it is impossible for God to lie. III. An Anchor That Actually Holds (6:19–20) Our hope is tied, not to our performance or our feelings, but to where Jesus is right now—standing for us in the presence of God. Conclusion: Live anchored this week Anchor Your Storm to God's Promise Practice “Anchor Prayer” in the Waiting Room “God, You cannot lie. Jesus is my anchor. Help me trust You right now.” Choose One Faithful Response While You Wait Loosen a False Anchor and Lean on the True One Throw a Rope to Another “Drifting Boat” “This week, I will stop treating hope like a feeling and start treating it like an anchor.” Find other Podcasts, Sermon Notes and the Bulletin here. https://www.mvcnaz.org/live Stay in touch with our Church Center App at https://www.mvcnaz.org/churchcenter Contact us through our CONNECT form at https://www.mvcnaz.org/connect With Pastor Mike Curry.

https://www.maynardvillefellowship.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Cooke-5-3-26-1.mp3 We tend to think of patience & grace as basically synonyms. But biblically speaking, that is not always the case. Sometimes God delays judgment in order to display mercy. But sometimes He delays judgment in order to expose rebellion, harden the self-righteous in their chosen path, and vindicate the justice of His wrath. In Matthew 23:34–36, Jesus announces that He will send prophets, wise men, & scribes to that generation—not because they will receive them, but because they will reject them. Their treatment of Christ's messengers will prove that they are true sons of those who murdered the prophets. From Abel to Zechariah, the blood of the righteous has cried out. And Jesus declares that all of it will come upon that generation. This is a sermon about covenantal bloodguilt, delayed judgment, AD 70, the end of old covenant Israel, and the terrifying reality that God's patience is not always mercy. Sometimes God gives men enough rope with which to hang themselves.

Hello to you listening in Thune, Switzerland! Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday and your host, Diane Wyzga. Maybe like me you've asked a friend for help in your hour of need. What did you get? “Just tie a knot in the end of your rope and hold on to that.” Sure, with enough rope to tie a knot and enough strength to hold on you might be okay; but what if nothing is all you have? Imagine this: 6 women and 2 young guides high in the frigid and snowy Canadian Rocky Mountains on an Outward Bound mountaineering expedition. Our task was to scale the face of a mountain in pairs by climbing, using strength, handholds, and the safety ropes the guides had secured far above us and out of sight beyond a cliff edge. Climbing up my partner froze dangling between the top and the rocky ground below. She stammered out: “I can't find anything to hold on to.” Time passed. And then the voice of one of our guides called out, “Grab it with both hands!” It worked! She got all the way to the top! And, rappelled back down! I can still see that smile of accomplishment on her astonished face when her boots touched the ground. But how did she do it? My partner found the help she was looking for- inside herself. She discovered a secret: when you can't find anything to hold on to, grab it with both hands! It works! You're always welcome: "Come for the stories - Stay for the magic!" Have you ever carried the weight of someone else's limiting belief about you? For years, a single phrase hung around like dead skin: "Great at planning, terrible at execution." Recorded raw and unscripted from the driver's seat on Route 422 just days after successfully hosting the live States Over Struggle summit, Brandon unpacks the mental and emotional friction of bringing an idea into the physical world. This episode isn't about event logistics; it is a masterclass in forced identity shifting. By signing a non-refundable contract and refusing to ask for permission, Brandon cut off the exits and forced himself to become an "event host" before the event even existed. In this episode, we cover: The Delusion of Fear: The ancient Vedanta concept of "the snake is a rope"—why the intimidation of your next big goal is an illusion once you actually walk up to it. Shedding the Dead Skin: How to stop letting old labels dictate your current capacity for execution. The Identity Ceiling: Why you can never outperform your internal identity, and how taking physical action instantly rewires who you believe you are. The Permission Slip: Why waiting for someone to validate your next move guarantees you will stay stuck. Accidental Wisdom: A profound truth bomb from Brandon's son about baking a cheesecake that applies to everything in life. If you are stuck in the planning phase, battling imposter syndrome, or waiting for a permission slip that is never coming—this episode is your manual override. The only thing standing in your way is you deciding to do it. Connect & Discuss: If this episode hits on something you are working through, let's have the conversation. "You're quite a good chicken strangler as I recall." We watched "Rope" directed by Alfred Hitchcock, with our dear friend Jackson Cooper, and yes - it's the gay one. Hitchcock is obsessed with characters committing the "perfect murder" and who better to attempt it in this go-round than two messy gays on the verge of "squabbling" over this opportunity? Based on the famous true-crime Leopold and Loeb case of the 1920s, Rope is giving us classic Hitchcock high tension, suspense, and intrigue but without any instance of a classic "Hitchcock Blonde." What we get instead are two handsome Nietzsche-obsessed Ivy League men with a false sense of superiority and a not-so-subtle same-sex relationship. Let's be real - Brandon (John Dall) and Phillip (Farley Granger) bicker like an old married couple and their strange dom/sub dance only gets weirder when their old Headmaster (Jimmy Stewart) comes in and throws a monkey wrench into their plot and their co-dependent spats. All the homoeroticism may have flown under the radar for the audience in the late 1940s but the gays always knew. Maybe the evil/psycho/murderous homosexual is a tired trope but Farley Granger and John Dall are just so darn cute and watching this film through a queer lens is a ton of fun, which helps since this material is pretty dark. Aside from the un-aliving in the first scene, it's Scenes From a Gay Marriage and we love it.  Thank you for listening, and don't forget to subscribe, rate, and review us on Apple Podcasts! www.patreon.com/moviesthatmadeusgay Facebook/Instagram: @moviesthatmadeusgay Bluesky: @MTMUGPod.bsky.social Scott Youngbauer: Twitter @oscarscott / Instagram @scottyoungballer Peter Lozano: Twitter/Instagram @peterlasagna Cover Art by Shaun Piela

This week on Second Helpings, Jackie and MJ are sadly NOT joined by the Male Feminist Gentleman Supreme, but they certainly got the goss' and drama this ep! MJ starts off by sharin' their PhD dissertation after their marathon catch-up of "Secret Lives of Mormon Wives". Speakin' of a different kind of body horror, Jackie highly recommends "Ugly Step Sister" and listening to "Sign of the Times" by Harry Styles. Jackie also just started the newest season of "Last One Laughing". Adam AND Jackie watched MJ's Alfred Hitchcock rec, "Rope" and looooved it, even if Jackie was judgin' hard at first, plus MJ and Jackie give honest opinions on Kombucha and the whole "Probiotic" trend products. MJ gives a disappointingly unsexy rundown of "Chocolate Cream Pie Murder", Jackie and MJ get into the nightmare that is the KFC Pickle Puffer, Jackie had some of the best chocolate she's ever had thanks to a listener, and MJ also got some awesome jerky from a listener! All that, AND MORE on this week's Second Helpings! Want even more Page 7? Support us on Patreon!
