This week we speak to Javan Bonds, Inspiration to so many writers out there! Check out this episode and his new book Zombie Paradise Lost Book 6 in his Staying Alive Series of books, also on sale is the first book Zombie Lake. Gain some insights into the world of Javan Bonds, join his fan club. The series follows a small group of survivors from a small town in Alabama as they try to keep their wits about them and make a new life in a world overrun by naked, infected, blue-skinned, yellow-eyed zombies that are nocturnal spew everywhere. Not to mention these blue former humans are intent on chomping all the uninfected in an attempt to infect or devour every last piece of flesh on their bones as they become increasingly more intelligent and sadistic. Fun times!?! Think WW-Z, Zombieland, and Shaun Of The Dead, only better. He's had to overcome numerous obstacles in writing as well as living his daily life. Diagnosed at the age of eleven with Friedreich's Ataxia (FA), (a progressively degenerative neuromuscular disease under the umbrella of the Muscular Dystrophy Association), he has slowly been robbed of his physical abilities. He became wheelchair bound in 1999 but that was only the beginning of his setbacks. His sight began to diminish in 2010 to the point he is now legally blind and his hearing began failing to the point he now can't hear individual voices in a noisy room. In spite of all of this, he continues work tirelessly seven days a week on his writing. Never letting his disability rule him has lived, loved, and laughed often. In mid-2016 Javan Bonds published his first novel FREE STATE OF DODGE, the first book in a dystopian series about America in decline and its rebirth. He is the Amazon Best Selling author of the Zompoc series, Still Alive. The series follows a small group of survivors in a small southern town as they try to keep their wits about them and make a new life in a world overrun by naked, blue-skinned, yellow-eyed zombies that are nocturnal and spew shit on everything. Bonds has had to overcome numerous obstacles in writing as well as living his daily life. Diagnosed at the age of eleven with Friedreich's Ataxia (FA), (a progressively degenerative neuromuscular disease under the umbrella of the Muscular Dystrophy Association), slowly being robbed of his physical abilities. Bonds became wheelchair bound in 1999 but that was only the beginning of his setbacks. His sight began to diminish in 2010 to the point he is now legally blind and his hearing began failing to the point he now can't hear individual voices in a noisy room. In spite of all of this, he continues work tirelessly seven days a week on his writing never letting his disability rule him and has lived, loved, and laughed often. In late 2015 at only 28 years old Bonds was told he may have only a short time left due to the ravages of FA on his heart. After learning this he's been hard at work to complete his other novels to have them finished before his time in this world runs out. Javan has these words of wisdom to offer for others stricken by a life-shortening illness, "Live your life. Light your candle on both ends and let it burn. It may burn out faster but your flame will burn brighter than some who live much longer Follow him Check out Heaven Sent Survival

A couple of great interviews this week as Arm Cast Dead Sexy Podcast host Armand Rosamilia gets to chat with: Kit Power, an author, podcaster, and blogger. His novel, GodBomb!, and novella collection Breaking Point were published by The Sinister Horror Company and are widely available, and his debut collection is out on November 3rd. His podcast, Watching RoboCop with Kit Power, sees him sitting down every month to discuss the greatest movie ever made with a guest, and recording the resulting conversation. And his My Life In Horror blog has been running at Gingernuts Of Horror for three years, where he discusses films, books, music and events that scarred him as a child. And then: Like many young writers, Javan Bonds dreams almost daily of the apocalypse – usually one populated by the walking dead. But his real-life day-to-day existence is almost as challenging as the world of zombies and collapsing civilizations. Javan, now 30 years old, legally blind and functionally deaf, and with congestive heart failure was diagnosed with Friedrich’s Ataxia, a form of muscular dystrophy, at the age of 11. In December 2015 doctors gave him six months to two years to live. Though that pronouncement has changed now and his health has improved somewhat, in that moment he decided that if he was going, he would leave something of himself behind to be remembered. So began his writing and publishing career.   Sponsored by Subculture Corsets & Clothing
