Kanye “Ye” West on Friday tweeted that he's starting to think that labeling black people “anti-Semitic” is just code for calling them the n-word. In perhaps the first case ever of Twitter censoring a black person for using the n-word, Ye's tweet was deleted for “violat[ing] the Twitter Rules.” The tweet is archived here. I don't remember Vijaya Gadde ever censoring a black person for using the n-word but I guess Ye's tweet was too much for Twitter's new chief censor, Yoel Roth. The user he quoted, DAYLYT30, also had his tweet deleted for violating Twitter's rules. Ye also shared a clip from an interview with rapper Charleston White saying Ye is being whipped again and again like a slave for “standing up.” Ye on Thursday shared scandalous texts purportedly from his Jewish trainer Harley Pasternak telling him to “please apologize to my people” or else he'll have him “institutionalized again where they medicate the crap out of you, and you go back to Zombieland forever.” What should be obvious by now is that I was raised to stand for my truth regardless of the consequences,” Ye said. “So I will say this again[.] I was mentally misdiagnosed and nearly drugged out of my mind to make me a manageable well behaved celebrity.” “I was told that if I expose the truth of the bad business practices everything is gonna be taken from me,” he said. “Including my black children.” “And everyone has bore [witness] to the public Emmett Tilling of Ye. But GOD has put something on my heart not to backdown.” --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/world-voices/support
Kanye West on Thursday returned to Twitter and shared scandalous texts purportedly from his Jewish trainer Harley Pasternak telling him to “please apologize to my people” or else he'll have him “institutionalized again where they medicate the crap out of you, and you go back to Zombieland forever.” West said during his now-censored interview on Drink Champs last month that Pasternak first put out the narrative that he was crazy when he was hospitalized for exhaustion in 2016. “They put the ‘crazy' narrative out there, my Jewish trainer, Harley Pasternak, who's Lizzo's trainer, put it out when I went to the hospital, put it in the press,” Ye said. “I got a bunch of friends that went to the hospital — it didn't go to the press.” “I would do anything, anything, if you could please apologize to my people,” Pasternak allegedly told Ye in a text that Ye shared on Thursday. “I'm going to help you one of a couple ways,” he continued. “First, you and I sit down and have an loving and open conversation, but you don't use cuss words, and everything that is discussed is based in fact, and not some crazy stuff that dumb friend of yours told you, or you saw in a tweet.” “Second option, I have you institutionalized again where they medicate the crap out of you and you go back to Zombieland forever. Play date with the kids just won't be the same." “What should be obvious by now is that I was raised to stand for my truth regardless of the consequences,” Mr. West said. “So I will say this again. I was mentally misdiagnosed and nearly drugged out of my mind to make me a manageable well behaved celebrity.” “I was told that if I expose the truth of the bad business practices everything is gonna be taken from me,” he said. “Including my black children.” “And everyone has bore [witness] to the public Emmett Tilling of Kanye. But GOD has put something on my heart not to backdown.” “This shows Harley admitting to knowing the truth of our origin but then later dismissing the facts within the same text chain[.] Mind you[,] This is how a Hollywood trainer speaks to a far more influential black celebrity when we get out of line.” --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/world-voices/support
Ye returned to Twitter on Thursday and quickly called out Canadian personal trainer Harley Pasternak. The rapper formerly known as Kanye West shared a screenshot of what appears to be a text message from someone named Harley, who threatens to have him “institutionalized again where they medicate the crap out of you, and you go back to Zombieland forever.” Drake has seemingly given his support to fellow Canadian rapper Tory Lanez – and Megan Thee Stallion is not impressed. On “Circo Loco,” a track on Drake's new collaborative album with 21 Savage, Her Loss, he raps: “This b**ch lie ‘bout getting shot but she still a stallion.” It's a likely reference to the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion, for which Lanez stands accused (his trial begins at the end of this month). Donate to the Florida Disaster fund In The News: Erin: Disney Epcot Mascot Figment Is Getting A Movie From Seth Rogen And Detective Pikachu WritersWho is Figment, and why is he beloved? Who are these screenwriters? Will Seth Rogen be playing Figment? Peter has heard some rumblings! What do you think? Peter (og BJ): Colin Trevorrow Strongly Hints At A Lot More Jurassic World Movies To ComeTrevorrow told Empire: "This movie clearly takes a real interest in creating new characters that a new generation is going to latch on to”. … "I never knew that this was the ending of the franchise until I saw the marketing. Those guys are brilliant at what they do, but for me I think it might have been clearer if they'd said, 'The end of an era', as opposed to all of it, because regardless of the cynical approach — of course they're gonna want to make more money, which is what 'Jurassic World' was about — a new dinosaur fan is born every day." “I specifically did something different than the other films in order to change the DNA of the franchise. The previous five films are plots about dinosaurs. This one is a story about characters in a world in which they coexist with dinosaurs. For the franchise to be able to move forward — because it's inherently unfranchisable, there probably should have only been one ‘Jurassic Park' – but if we're gonna do it, how can I allow them to tell stories in a world in which dinosaurs exist, as opposed to, here's another reason why we're going to an island?” Do we really believe there will be more Jurassic World sequels? What would you like to see with the future of the Jurassic franchise? Erin: Marvel's Armor Wars TV Show Will Now Be A Movie Starring Don CheadleSame writer Actors didn't even know? How do you think this will change this project? When can we now expect it? Erin: Deadpool 3 Will See The Return Of Hugh Jackman As WolverineWe had heard there was a road trip movie in the works with Deadpool and Wolverine but then Disney bought Fox and those plans got shelved We knew Disney was still interested in making a third Deadpool film and it would be set in the mcu Ryan posted a video on twitter, tell us about it? It appears to have meant to air at D23? Why do you think it was delayed? I like the Deadpool logo with the 3 wolverine claws What do you think of this? Does this make Wolverine MCU canon? How can Wolverine return? Didn't he die in Logan? Mention: Ben's Every Way Hugh Jackman's Wolverine Could Return In Deadpool 3 Erin: Uncharted Director Ruben Fleischer Is Getting Tricky With Now You See Me 3Fleischer had previously worked with both Eisenberg and Harrelson on the Zombieland films. What did you think of the Now You See Me movies? Why Magic is hard to do in movies and tv. Regardless of our thoughts, the movies make money – almost $700 million worldwide to date… so why did it take so long to make a third one? Filmmaker Matt Vella joins us on the show today to talk about his new short film, She's Not Your Type, and then to do an in-depth review of the new Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco film, Day Shift, that was just released on Netflix. To kick things off, Matt shares a little about his work, and what motivated him to make a short rom-com at this stage in his career. He talks about how performing standup influenced his process, and why he is sticking to projects that he believes in and are close to his heart. We also spend a little time recounting the wild and hilarious quotables from Matt's film! From there, the conversation turns to Day ShiftWe go through the picture's many problems, from casting issues, a confused script, and undercooked ideas and execution. With such a promising cast, it seems a shame that the final product is such a letdown. We find some time at the end of the episode to see how it measures up to other bad movies we have seen this year. So to hear the full breakdown, and a lot more in between, be sure to listen in with us in this fun conversation! Support the show

Did you know that the average human attention span is just 8.25 seconds? (Shorter than a goldfish). That is a 25% drop between 2000 and 2015. We are a hyper-distracted lot. At the office, we check our email inbox 11 times an hour. We pick up our phone more than 1,500 times weekly, once every 5.5 mins. The average time we watch an internet video is 2.7 minutes. But OTT consumption is spiralling; we consume 38 hours of content every month (equal to a work week). The market is booming; the platforms are losing money - all 10,000. The reason for this is consumer nirvana. Too much choice, too much control and no lock-in, to name just a few. Did you get your daily recommendation of the "not to miss shows" on an OTT platform? Did you watch it or get overwhelmed by all the recommendations and spend that hour you had kept for watching just surfing on all the platforms? Well, the sticky bum syndrome of cinema does not hold you in place for OTT In this episode, we chat with Keertan Adyanthaya, ex-Disney, ex-Fox, ex-Star, ex-MTV, and X-Man (just kidding
We spoke to the cast of Spiderhead at their NYC premiere to talk about some of the mind bending tools used on inmates, what this type of behavior means ethically, and why it was so much fun shooting that boat race. Check out some of the cast including: Miles Teller, Jurnee Smollett, Mark Paguio, and more. The movie is currently streaming on Netflix now. Host: Monica Gleberman Editor: Marianna Randazzo Social Media Graphic: Jojo -- Synopsis: In a state-of-the-art penitentiary run by brilliant visionary Steve Abnesti (Chris Hemsworth), inmates wear a surgically attached device that administers dosages of mind-altering drugs in exchange for commuted sentences. There are no bars, no cells, or orange jumpsuits. In Spiderhead, incarcerated volunteers are free to be themselves. Until they're not. At times, they're a better version. Need to lighten up? There's a drug for that. At a loss for words? There's a drug for that, too. But when two subjects, Jeff (Miles Teller) and Lizzy (Jurnee Smollett), form a connection, their path to redemption take a twistier turn, as Abnesti's experiments start to push the limits of free will altogether. Based on The New Yorker short story by George Saunders, SPIDERHEAD is a genre-bending and darkly funny psychological thriller directed by Joseph Kosinski (TRON: Legacy, Top Gun: Maverick) and written by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Zombieland). The Not Quite Dead gals talk about the many "rules" of surviving a zombie apocalypse, the practicalities of a cross-country roadtrip, and the early 2000s appeal of Jesse Eisenberg. The hunt for twinkies, the most legendary list of rules for the apocalypse and loads of zombies... this week BRBR riding shotgun in a yellow Hummer as we look at Zombieland! It's up to four very different survivors to band together as they survive the end of the world in a zombie infested America. And all I have to say is FINALLY! I absolutely love a great zed movie and Zombieland is exactly that. I honestly don't know how we haven't covered it on the show yet but hey, here we are. Although released in 2009, it just seemed a little too edgy and ahead of its time with its own fresh take on the horror comedy section for zombie movies. However, boasting some killer music and even more killer, well, zombie kills, and with the aid of its sequel released in recent years it has definitely earned a place on my movie shelf. Can Columbus and the gang fight off the undead hordes, get Tallahasee his twinkie and use the most important rule of cardio to escape these bad reviewers? Tune in to find out! If you enjoyed the episode, please rate and share! It goes such a long way and I am so grateful for all of the support. And hey, if you do leave a review of the show, you will be featured as well! How neat is that? Also, be sure to give my official Ko-Fi page a gander. Eric and Cade discuss reports of a 'Game of Thrones' sequel that was developed by Kit Harington, Disney reportedly being impressed with Wes Ball's 'Planet of the Apes' script, reactions to 'Thor: Love and Thunder', and the "big" problem phasing the MCU's Phase 4. Then, an interview with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the screenwriting team behind films such as 'Zombieland', 'Deadpool', 'Life', and their new Netflix film 'Spiderhead'.
