Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi, William Thrasher, and Jersey Jason discuss Planet of the Apes. Taylor (Charlton Heston) crashes on a planet full of apes. From its witty screenplay co-written by The Twilight Zone creator Rod Serling to its Academy Award winning makeup, the original Planet of the Apes is a masterpiece. We've reached the end of the original Apes series. The franchise has gone crazy places since Taylor (Charlton Heston) first set foot on the shores of the Forbidden Zone. We've seen Cornelius and Zira (McDowell and Hunter) start as intellectuals and then become fugitives. We finally met Caesar - the ape who defied his masters and led a revolution. Now, in Battle for the Planet of the Apes, we see Caesar balance two societies; his Ape brethren, and the humans who serve them.
