A quick review of our sermons from July 18th, 2020.
This week we only have one message to review. Sunday morning we learned about the way of the disciple in Mark 8:31-38. Please reach out to us if you have any questions.
In 2 Kings 2 we journey with Elijah and Elisha on their final trip and get one step closer to Elisha beginning his role as prophet. In Luke 8 we see more about Jesus' ministry to the Gentiles.
When Elijah called Elisha, times were difficult for any follower of Jehovah, but especially for a prophet. We consider Elisha's courage and the courage we need to demonstrate. In Mark 7 we follow Jesus into a Gentile-dominated area and learn from a Syro-Phoenician woman.
In this episode, we consider the call of Elisha and compare it to the call of God on each believer. We'll also review our message from Sunday evening based on Mark 7:1-24. We'll consider the danger of traditionalism, but the benefit of Bible-based traditions.
In this epispde we review our two messages from this week. In the morning we restarted a series of messages walking through the life of Elisha. We read from 1 Kings 19 and our focus was on character and the grace of God which forms it. In the evening we were in Mark 10:45 and looked at the example of Jesus in serving others and His primary reason for coming - to save sinners.
Mark #21 - As we continue thorough the life of Christ in the Gospel of Mark we come to chapter 6. Jesus returns to His home town of Nazareth. We are confronted with the possibilities of belief, but also the danger of refusing to believer. Elijah #8 - After years o near-constant danger and service, Elijah finds himself on the run and battling discouragement and doubts. There is much here for us learn and apply today.
Sunday Morning September 15th: AM - Mark 5:21-43 - The choice to believe puts us out of the step with the ordinary and takes us into the realm of the extraordinary where we walk closer with the Lord and personally witness Him do great things for His glory and our good. PM - 1 Kings 19 - Elijah demonstrated his faith by hearing the rain before it began to fall. God promised it was on its way, and so Elijah considered it already falling. This evening we will look at some simple principles of prayer and faith that the Christian can apply.
In this episode we look back to the messages preached on Sunday, September 8th. AM - Sunday morning we were in Mark 5 and witnessed the deliverance of a man delivered from demon possession. A Legion of demons went against our Lord, and of course Jesus was victorious. The freedom from sin and suffering that Jesus brought to that man is the very same freedom He offers sinners today. PM - In the evening service we witnessed a second battle, this time between Elijah and the Prophets of Baal. Once more, God gave the victory. The God who answers by fire proved Himself strong and the nation of Israel repented and trusted Him once more. The God who answered Israel by fire, and sent the fire at Pentecost, can still kindle a flame in believers today!
In this episode we look back on the sermons preached on Sunday, September 1, 2019. AM Service: On Sunday morning we were in Mark 4 and were blessed to consider the presence of Jesus with us in the storms of life. PM Service: Elijah and Obadiah were both very different characters, but the Lord used them both. In our look at 1 Kings 18 we saw how both men were faithful to the call of God in their lives. Working and witnessing can get complicated in this wicked world. Some truths from Sunday evening will help us.
The Gospel works! God's power to change lives & build His church continues unchanged & undiminished!
Jesus wants the light of His Word to spread to every individual. Every Christian has a vital part to play in making His light known.
Elijah has been cut down and now he will be further purified by the crucible of Zarephath. God will allow us to go through times of purification to make us more like Him and prepare us for future service.
Every believer has a responsibility and privilege to share God’s Word as sowers, but also to guard our hearts to ensure we receive God’s Word as disciples. Join us as we look at God's Words in Mark 4:1-20
Before God could use Elijah, He would cut him off from the world and cut him down to size. Whatever work God is doing in your life, choose to trust and look forward to what He is preparing you for.
When the enemy comes in like a flood, God always raises up His standard against them! In some of Israel's most evil days, God brought His Elijah onto the scene. In this episode we review our first sermon in this series from 1 Kings 16:25-1 Kings 17:1.
In this episode we take a look back at our message on Sunday morning from Mark 3:31-35.
