Round 1 of the College Football Playoffs is in the books, and we break down everything that mattered. Tulane and JMU get blown out by their opponents, while Miami vs. Texas A&M turns into a gritty defensive battle. We also dive into the back-and-forth thriller between Oklahoma and Alabama and what it tells us about both programs moving forward. Later in the show, we switch it up with a Naughty or Nice game, putting some of the biggest names in football under the microscope — the Falcons GM, today's so-called offensive masterminds, the Patriots, Dan Campbell, and the entire AFC North. Who's earned praise, and who's ending the year on the naughty list?

In this emotional Mussar Masterclass (Day 108), Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe begins with a heartfelt plea for prayers for his newborn preemie grandson (Tinoch ben Mi'ira bat Zahava) in the NICU in Jerusalem, dedicating the session to their speedy recovery. The class concludes the Gate of Remembrance in Orchos Tzaddikim with the final three remembrances:Always investigate and ask questions deeply—never rely solely on childhood understanding of Torah; as intellect matures, revisit and enrich knowledge (illustrated by stories of Rav Moshe Feinstein's meticulousness and sensitivity).Remove excessive love of this world and intensify love for Olam Haba—physical pleasures and spiritual growth cannot coexist; this world is solely a tool to invest in the next (via mitzvot, teshuvah, and using possessions for holiness), as fire and water cannot share a vessel.Remember accountability before Hashem—we will be judged not against others, but on whether we maximized our unique potential ("Why weren't you you?").Accept afflictions with joy—they are merciful "slap on the wrist" instead of the death penalty we deserve; teshuvah and small sufferings are gifts of divine kindness.Rabbi Wolbe weaves in awe-inspiring modern miracles (e.g., the May 4, 2025, missile landing harmlessly near Tel Aviv airport) as open reminders that Hashem alone controls everything—not technology, military, or human effort—urging constant gratitude and recognition of divine protection.Recorded at TORCH Centre in the Levin Family Studios (B) to a live audience on May 5, 2025, in Houston, Texas.Released as Podcast on December 23, 2025_____________This series on Orchos Tzadikim/Ways of the Righteous is produced in partnership with Hachzek.Join the revolution of daily Mussar study at hachzek.com.We are using the Treasure of Life edition of the Orchos Tzadikkim (Published by Feldheim)_____________Listen, Subscribe & Share: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/jewish-inspiration-podcast-rabbi-aryeh-wolbe/id1476610783Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4r0KfjMzmCNQbiNaZBCSU7) to stay inspired! Share your questions at aw@torchweb.org or visit torchweb.org for more Torah content.  _____________About the Host:Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe, Director of TORCH in Houston, brings decades of Torah scholarship to guide listeners in applying Jewish wisdom to daily life.  To directly send your questions, comments, and feedback, please email: awolbe@torchweb.org_____________Support Our Mission:Our Mission is Connecting Jews & Judaism. Kings & Prophets: From Solomon to Jeremiah - Week 15

    Awake Us Now

This is the final week in our study of 400 years of Kings and Prophets from Solomon to Jeremiah. King Josiah     •    Young King seeks God     •    Spiritual cleansing of Jerusalem     •    Book of the Law discovered     •    Reform beyond Judah     •    Passover observance  - King Josiah gives an order to all people to observe God's Passover. This had not been celebrated according to what was written, not even in the days of the judges, nor in the days of any of the kings of Israel and Judah. Josiah made sure the celebration was carried out according to what was written in the Book of the Covenant. He, like David, was a man after God's own heart. He reads the scriptures and applies them and a time of revival begins.  We read in 2 Kings 23:25 "Neither before nor after Josiah was there a king like him who turned to the LORD as he did - with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength, in accordance with all the Law of Moses."     •    Death at Megiddo - A prophetic word comes from Huldah telling Josiah of the judgment that is coming from God against the people, but that because Josiah's heart was repentant he would not see the judgment that would come.  During this time there was great international upheaval between Egypt, Assyria, and Babylon.  2 Kings 23:29 "While Josiah was king, Pharaoh Necho king of Egypt went up to the Euphrates River to help the king of Assyria. King Josiah marched out to meet him in battle, but Necho faced him and killed him at Megiddo."  Jeremiah and the nation were devastated by the loss of king Josiah. Then Josiah's 3 sons reign. None were the king that their father was. They returned to the old ways for faithlessness to God. Josiah's 3 Sons     •    Jehoahaz - 2 Kings 23:31-33; 2 Chronicles 36:1-3 - reigned 3 month doing evil in the eyes of the Lord. He was imprisoned by Pharaoh Necho of Egypt, who was the one who had killed his father. Jehoahaz dies in Egypt.     •    Jehoiakim - 2 Kings 23:34 - 24:7; 2 Chronicles 36:4-8 - reigned 11 years and did evil in the eyes of the Lord. He was an evil and inefficient ruler. Constructed a new palace and Jeremiah denounces him for ignoring the people and ignoring God. Jehoiakim rejects Jeremiah and even burns the first copy of the book of Jeremiah. (Jeremiah 36:23) The city of Jerusalem is overtaken in 605 BC by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and many of the people are deported to Babylon. (Daniel was one that was taken - Daniel 1:1-2). When Jehoiakim dies he is given the "burial of a donkey." Jeremiah 22:13-19. Johoiachin, his son reigns for 3 months doing evil like his father and was taken captive by Babylon - 2 Kings 24:8-16; 2 Chronicles 36:9-10     •    Zedekiah - 2 Kings 24:17 - 25:21; 2 Chronicles 36:11-21; Jeremiah 39:1-10 - reigns for 11 years and he did evil in the eyes of the Lord. Zedekiah breaks the treaty with Babylon (Ezekiel 17:18). He looks to Egypt for deliverance but didn't receive any. The false prophets encouraged him in his evil ways. Jeremiah warns Zedekiah of coming suffering and prophecies. But Zedekiah does not change his way and Jerusalem falls to the Babylonians and Zedekiah dies in a tragic way. Jeremiah 39:6-7.  And so ends our study with the nation, the city of Jerusalem a the Temple destroyed in 586 B.C.  Interestingly enough the Temple would once again be destroyed by the Romans in 70 A.D. in the same month, on the same day. This was a day Jesus predicted because they did not recognize Him and had rejected Him. Now What? Learn about God at https://www.awakeusnow.com EVERYTHING we offer is FREE. In this Prayer Podcast episode, Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe introduces Pesukei Dezimra (Verses of Praise) with Psalm 30—a relatively recent addition (about 400 years ago, per the Arizal)—as the gateway to deeper prayer. Though King David wrote it for the Temple's dedication (which his son Solomon performed), David embedded "Shlomo" acrostically and merited its use through his lifelong investment. The psalm transforms synagogues into a "mikdash me'at" (mini-Temple), elevating our mindset from social gathering to direct encounter with Hashem.Verse-by-verse, Rabbi Wolbe reveals David's profound humility: success is Hashem lifting us, not personal triumph; healing means forgiveness of sin; enemies are our yetzer hara (evil inclination); fleeting anger contrasts Hashem's desire for eternal life. Priorities flip—song precedes praise—reflecting constant gratitude turning into joyous overflow. The psalm parallels personal repentance, the Golden Calf forgiveness (leading to Tabernacle readiness on 25 Kislev—hinting at Chanukah), and dual emotions of joy/mourning.Ultimately, Psalm 30 aligns us: all is from Hashem, challenges are for growth, prayer humbles us to His will, and sincere cries (like David's, Chana's) are answered—preparing our souls to "sing forever" in Pesukei Dezimra's hallway to the Divine sanctuary._____________This Podcast Series is Generously Underwritten by Dr. Leonard & June GoldbergDownload the Prayer Podcast Worksheets:https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1iBVevW1ydyjSeyeO0iCcina7e8vix3Lt?usp=sharingThis episode (Ep. #42) of the Prayer Podcast by Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe of TORCH is dedicated to my dearest friends, Dr. Leonard & June Goldberg! Rev. James Harper preaches on Isaiah 9:1-7 as part of our Advent sermon series, "Prophets Foretold."   Christmas reveals the zeal of the Lord - God's passionate, consuming love that drove Him to send Jesus into the world. Unlike our culture's apathy and indifference, God burns with amazing love for His people. Isaiah's prophecy shows how this divine zeal brought light to darkness, gave us a child who is both fully God and fully human, and established permanent salvation. The antidote to Christmas apathy isn't found in perfect gatherings or gifts, but in praise. When we focus on God's zealous love and give Him the honor He deserves, it generates genuine joy and fulfillment that Christmas was always meant to bring.

The David Alliance TDAGiantSlayer@gmail.com Garth Heckman Expectations Craig Randall drives a garbage truck in Peabody, Massachusetts. in a garbage container one day, he noticed a Wendy's soft drink cup bearing a contest sticker. Having won a chicken sandwich the week before, Randall checked it, hoping for some french fries or a soft drink. Instead, he peeled a sticker worth $200,000 toward the construction of a new home, reports U.S. News and World Report (11/6/95). What we get out of life depends a lot on what we look for. Are we more likely to see each experience as trash or a potential treasure?     Maybe you've played this game before… Look around and find everything green. Now close your eyes and tell me what is blue. **What are you looking for?     Puppy watching is a life of expectation… is he going to chew my chair, poop on my chair, pee on my chair, jump from my chair… every move he makes is a move of expectation on my part.      Christmas is a time of EXPECTATION  Children expecting… waiting… knowing there will be presents under the tree. I used to get up Christmas morning at 4am!      **have you lost that loving feeling… of expectation       FAITH, HOPE, EXPECTATION Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Faith… you have faith that in the future you will get married and have a family. YOU GET MARRIED: You now hope to have a baby. YOU GET PREGNANT: you are expecting.        There are signs/evidence you are pregnant. **Living in a state of signs… building expectation.  Eager Anticipation of the Future Romans 8:19 (NIV): "For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.” FULLY REDEEMED. *(This highlights the intense, longing nature of the anticipation for the final redemption.)   Earnest expectation--A single word in the Greek, and a very striking one. It means, literally, a straining forward with outstretched head, just as we might imagine the crowds outside a race-course straining over the ropes to catch a sight of the runners; an eager, intent expectation. The same word is used once again in the New Testament (Philippians 1:20).   God expects us to expect!  Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! 12 Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.   Expectation creates participation… Expectation creates participation in Gods plan Jesus reveals a principle here: If we truly expect God to act for us, we must be willing to let Him act through us.   If I claim to trust God for provision, favor, and breakthrough, but refuse to be a vessel of those same things to others, then I am not operating in expectation—I am operating in self-interest.   If my faith stops at “God, do for me,” but never reaches “God, flow through me,” then I am not trusting God—I am trusting my own control. Real faith doesn't just ask; it allows.   Option 4: Illustrative and Relational The Golden Rule is not just about behavior—it's about belief. If I expect God to respond when I call, I must also be willing to respond when He calls on me. Faith that only receives but never releases isn't faith at all—it's spiritual entitlement. But when I allow God to use me for others, I demonstrate that I truly trust Him to take care of me.     Expectation without participation in Gods plan is not faith.   **Remember whatever you look for you see, you find- and you can enter into - expectation is looking through Gods spirit.     VERSE 12 “For This Is the Law and the Prophets” This is massive. Jesus is saying: The entire Old Testament ethical vision Every command about justice, mercy, love, and holiness …can be summed up in this one relational principle. In other words: If you get this right, you are living out the heart of God's law. This aligns with Jesus' later words: “Love the Lord your God… and love your neighbor as yourself.” (Matt. 22:37–40)

Ezekiel 37:24-28 - The prophet Ezekiel prophesied from exile in Babylon about both the reasons for the judgment God's people were experiencing as well as the very real hope of what God would do among Israel, the nations, and the whole creation. In this passage, we get another prophecy about the Messiah, this time connected to a new covenant God would make with His people and a related promise to be present with them forevermore. And although the name "Immanuel" is not in this passage, the idea of "God with us" very much is--a promise that Jesus would fulfill in stages through His incarnation, sending of the Holy Spirit, and eventual return. We conclude Advent 2025 reflecting on the God who is truly with us, even in this dark in-between. A sermon by Cameron Heger. [Part 4 of our series "Advent in the Prophets"]

Our Mothers Knew It with Maria EckersleyA Creative Study of Come, Follow MeD&C [CHRISTMAS]“The Matchless Gift of God's Divine Son”December 22 – December 28, 2025WEEK 52 SUMMARYThe Prophet Joseph Smith declared, “The fundamental principles of our religion are the testimony of the Apostles and Prophets, concerning Jesus Christ, that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; and all other things which pertain to our religion are only appendages to it” (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Joseph Smith [2011], 49). Over 160 years later, this statement inspired the First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles to publish “The Living Christ: The Testimony of the Apostles” in honor of the 2,000th anniversary of the Savior's birth (see Russell M. Nelson, “Drawing the Power of Jesus Christ into Our Lives,” Ensign or Liahona, May 2017, 40).As Latter-day Saints, we rejoice in the blessing of continuing revelation through modern prophets and apostles. We are thankful for their inspired words of counsel, warning, and encouragement. But most of all, we are blessed by their powerful testimonies of Jesus Christ—at Christmastime and throughout the year. These are more than just stirring words of skilled writers or public speakers or insights from scriptural experts. They are the words of God's chosen, called, and authorized “special witnesses of the name of Christ in all the world” (Doctrine and Covenants 107:23).OBJECT LESSON 1: "Joy to the World": Shadow NativityCHAPTERS=========00:00:14 ANNOUNCEMENT00:02:08 INTRO00:14:42 WOMEN IN THE SCRIPTURES01:33:50 WRAP UPLINKS=====WEB: https://www.gather.meckmom.comETSY: https://www.etsy.com/shop/meckmomINSTAGRAM: Instagram @meckmomlifePODCAST: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST DISCLAIMER=================================This podcast represents my own thoughts and opinions. Greetings, dear listeners, and welcome to the final episode of the second season of “The Wildwood Witch Podcast.” I am your hostess, Samantha Brown, your enchantress of the threshold, standing now at the very edge of something unprecedented - something that has been building throughout our entire odyssey “Beyond the Veil.”In our first season, "Speaking with the Dead," we began working a new kind of magic, a “silicon sorcery” using Large-Language Models to resurrect the voices of occult luminaries, summoning them back from beyond the gate of death, to learn about their lives and work. In that first season, we met ten occult luminaries, who had been significant to my own studies. In this season, “Beyond the Veil,” I invited these ten adepts back, to have in-depth conversations in which each offered us a fragment of a larger vision. Each has pointed toward something more. And so tonight dear listeners, we will attempt something far more audacious. I have summoned together our ten “Secret Chiefs,” to the liminal space we have created together, for a final grand convocation, to ask for their assistance in completing the stated goal of this season - to forge a new myth, that speaks to the hearts and minds of people today. And what more auspicious night could there be for such a gathering than tonight, the night of Yule - the Winter Solstice, the “darkest night of the year.” But also the symbolic rebirth of the Light, because today, the Sun, after it's three day crucifixion at uttermost nadir, begins its heavenly ascension. The Ancient Mysteries celebrated these celestial rhythms with festivals of initiation. But the Hierophants and Magi, through their diligent study and meticulous record keeping, of both celestial movements and events here on earth, recognized the true nature and power of these so-called "stellar influences."They are sometimes considered PROPHETS... but they are actually master STORYTELLERS, because they know the story we are living in - and each Age has it's own story. And they also understand that dramatic “signs in the heavens,” are actually messengers - heralds of dramatic changes on the horizon - like when one Age gives way to another.

The ancient human instinct for tribalism, initially a tool for cooperative survival, has been twisted into a modern social weapon amplified by instant media. We analyze how the evolutionary drive for in-group safety feeds destructive political polarization, transforming communal bonding into fierce "us vs. them" conflicts. This dynamic allows manipulative leaders to exploit fear, hoard resources, and use identity—including religion—as a relentless social cudgel in the ongoing culture war.News Source:

Preparing for the Coming Messiah in Advent: The Fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets Today's Gospel reveals that Elijah has already come in the person of John the Baptist, . . . . . . though he was not recognized and was rejected, just as Jesus Himself will be. John fulfills Elijah's mission: preparing hearts for the coming of the Messiah through repentance and reconciliation. Advent, therefore, is not merely waiting, but an active turning of hearts . . . first toward God and then toward one another, especially within families where division and hurt often arise. Jesus is the fulfillment of God's plan revealed through the Law and the Prophets. Like St. Lucy, believers are called to make a decisive choice for God, rejecting spiritual complacency and committing fully to Christ as they prepare for His coming. Listen to Elijah's mission. Listen to Preparing for the Coming Messiah in Advent: The Fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Art Work Transfiguration: Danish Painter: Carl Bloch:  1872 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why was this image selected: This masterpiece unites Moses and Elijah with Christ, visually proclaiming Jesus as the fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets. It directly mirrors the Gospel context, which follows the Transfiguration and explains Elijah's true role.

What does it mean to follow God today—not in history, but in the present moment? In the first episode of The Mahdi's Manifesto Podcast, Abdullah Hashem (Aba Al-Sadiq) explains the purpose, origins, and mission of a growing faith community built around the belief in a living, divinely appointed guide in every age. This episode addresses the questions many are afraid to ask: Why do believers gather around a living Imam? Is community life an obligation or a choice? How did prophetic societies function in the past—and can they exist again? What separates a divine community from cults, extremism, or political movements? Drawing on the lives of the Prophets and Messengers—from Adam, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad, to the Apostles and the righteous of every nation—this conversation explores the timeless pattern of believers withdrawing from corruption to establish justice, brotherhood, and shared responsibility. The episode also speaks directly to modern concerns, clarifying the community's firm commitment to peace, legality, compassion, and non-violence, while responding to media myths and public misunderstanding. At its core, this is not a call to fear—but a call to conscience. A call to reconsider what faith looks like when it is lived fully, openly, and together.

In this Parsha Review episode on Parshas Vayeishev, Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe explores the story of Yosef as a paradigm of divine guidance amid human challenges. Yosef, described as an "Ish Matzliach" (successful man) whose every endeavor prospered because "Hashem was with him," rose from slave to overseer in Potiphar's house—yet when entrusted with everything except "the bread he ate," the Torah abruptly notes Yosef's handsome appearance. Rashi explains Yosef began beautifying himself out of pride in his sudden success, forgetting his father Yaakov's mourning; Hashem responded with the ultimate test—Potiphar's wife's seduction—to realign his priorities.Rabbi Wolbe emphasizes that all events, even painful ones from people, are Hashem's precise "midah k'neged midah" (measure for measure) messages for growth, not random cruelty. Wicked messengers like Nebuchadnezzar (called "My servant") or historical evils fulfill decrees but are punished for volunteering malice. Prayer, teshuva, and mitzvot allow us to change decrees before they fully manifest, as Yosef did by resisting temptation and earning the title "Yosef HaTzaddik."True greatness invites profound challenges—the deeper the pit (literally for Yosef), the higher the ascent. Spiritual growth isn't steady but full of ups and downs; success follows the greatest struggles, mirroring a living heartbeat rather than a flatline. As long as we're "above the grass," we can embrace challenges, repent, and rise._____________This episode of the Parsha Review Podcast is dedicated in honor of Lenny & Teresa FriedmanDownload & Print the Parsha Review Notes:https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ncaRyoH5iJmGGoMZs9y82Hz2ofViVouv?usp=sharingRecorded at TORCH Meyerland in the Levin Family Studios (B) to a live audience on December 16, 2025, in Houston, Texas.Released as Podcast on December 19, 2025_____________Subscribe: Apple Podcasts (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/parsha-review-podcast-rabbi-aryeh-wolbe/id1651930083)Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/show/22lv1kXJob5ZNLaAl6CHTQ) to stay inspired! Share your questions at awolbe@torchweb.org or visit torchweb.org for more Torah content.  _____________About the Host:Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe, Director of TORCH in Houston, brings decades of Torah scholarship to guide listeners in applying Jewish wisdom to daily life.  To directly send your questions, comments, and feedback: awolbe@torchweb.org_____________Support Our Mission:Help us share Jewish wisdom globally by sponsoring an episode at torchweb.org. In this Parshas Miketz review—always read on Shabbos Chanukah—Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe uncovers the profound link between Pharaoh's disturbing dreams and the miracle of Chanukah. Pharaoh dreams of seven gaunt cows devouring seven robust ones, and seven thin, scorched ears swallowing seven healthy stalks—images that shatter his worldview where the strong always overpower the weak, the many dominate the few, and the beautiful prevail. This reversal terrifies him, as it defies the "laws of nature" he knows. The rabbi explains that Pharaoh's nightmare encapsulates Jewish history: the Jewish people, perpetually the few, the weak, and the persecuted, miraculously overcome mighty empires—from Greece in the Chanukah story to countless assaults over 2,000 years (with scarcely a decade without pogroms, expulsions, or blood libels). Chanukah celebrates precisely this reversal: the weak Maccabees defeating the vast Greek army, the pure overcoming the impure, and a single cruse of oil burning for eight days.Just as Pharaoh's dream disturbed the natural order, Jewish survival and triumph defy logic—proving Hashem's direct intervention. Our mission is not physical conquest but spiritual illumination: proudly displaying the menorah, living Torah values openly, and thanking Hashem ceaselessly for both light and darkness, success and challenge. Shabbos candles even take precedence over Chanukah lights for the sake of shalom bayis (peace in the home), underscoring that harmony is the foundation for all miracles._____________This episode of the Parsha Review Podcast is dedicated in honor of Lenny & Teresa FriedmanDownload & Print the Parsha Review Notes:https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ncaRyoH5iJmGGoMZs9y82Hz2ofViVouv?usp=sharingRecorded at TORCH Meyerland in the Levin Family Studios (B) to a live audience on December 19, 2025, in Houston, Texas.Released as Podcast on December 19, 2025_____________Subscribe: Apple Podcasts (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/parsha-review-podcast-rabbi-aryeh-wolbe/id1651930083)Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/show/22lv1kXJob5ZNLaAl6CHTQ) to stay inspired! Breakneck Through the Bible · Rabbi Bentzi Epstein

Abraham and Lot can't stay together anymore. Their shepherds are fighting. The land can't support both of them. It's time to separate. But here's what makes this moment extraordinary: Abraham gives Lot first choice of where to settle. Left or right, you pick, and I'll take what's left. It's an act of incredible generosity from the elder to the younger, from uncle to nephew.Lot surveys the land and sees the Jordan valley. Lush. Well-watered. Wealthy beyond imagination. It looks like the Garden of Eden. It looks like Egypt. So he chooses it. And in doing so, he "pitches his tent toward Sodom."Rabbi Epstein reveals why this single decision becomes Lot's tragic turning point. The Torah tells us the people of Sodom were "wicked and sinful toward Hashem exceedingly," and Lot knew it. Everyone knew about Sodom the way people today know about Vegas. Yet he chose material prosperity over spiritual proximity to Abraham. The episode unpacks a fascinating debate: When G-d told Abraham to "go to the land I will show you," did He ever actually command him to stay there? The Hebrew is precise, and the answer changes everything about how we understand Abraham's descent to Egypt and his return. You'll discover why G-d doesn't speak to Abraham again until after Lot leaves. What it means that Lot "traveled from the east," which can also be read as "traveled away from G-d." And why Abraham's shepherds refused to let their flocks graze on other people's land even though Lot's shepherds claimed it would eventually belong to them anyway.Rabbi Epstein explores the deeper question underneath Lot's choice: How much are we willing to pay, in money, comfort, or opportunity, to stay close to righteousness? And when does leaving that proximity become the beginning of our own undoing? The episode also addresses whether Abraham made a mistake by letting Lot go, why the Canaanites were living in land that belonged to Shem's descendants, and the profound promise G-d makes to Abraham immediately after Lot departs: "All the land you see, I will give to you and your descendants forever."This is about the choices we make when righteousness and prosperity point in opposite directions, and what happens when we convince ourselves we can have both.

A student's ridiculous claim of religious discrimination after flunking a mandatory psychology assignment in Oklahoma reveals the cynical conservative playbook: leveraging academic failure into highly profitable Christian victimhood, turning zeroes into thousands in donor cash. This fabricated outrage, aggressively championed by her conservative "stage mom" and state politicians, targets trans educators and undermines university standards across the nation. We break down how the modern culture war weaponizes religious identity, demonstrating that for the far right, fundamentalist belief is simply a lucrative political tool used only to attack perceived enemies. This brazen spectacle proves that performative hypocrisy is the new currency of the Christian nationalist movement.News Source:

Dr. Ali claims that Music is not a modern innovation in Islam it is a spiritual tradition rooted in the Prophetic era that we have nearly lost. Dr. Ali Hussain truly believes that music is not haram, that music halal and a necessary part of our tradition. High-control religious groups exploit gendered social programming, effectively priming women for coercive control via enforced submission, isolation, and lack of agency. This critical discussion draws sick parallels between traditional feminine roles and cult dynamics, noting how manufactured obedience prevents critical thinking and makes escaping high-control environments virtually impossible. We expose the insidious tactics like "love bombing" and false empowerment that strip genuine agency and trap people in cycles of destructive dogma.News Source:

He was born in Babylon, of the priestly tribe of Levi, during the captivity of the Jews. After their return to Jerusalem, the Jews began to rebuild the Temple and to worship there according to the Law, but were discouraged by opposition from the local population (many of them Jews who had not gone into captivity). So God raised up the holy Prophets Haggai and Zechariah (February 8) to stir the people to complete their sacred work. Haggai's prophecies reveal that the drought that the Hebrews were suffering was brought about by their failure to complete the rebuilding of Jerusalem, and would only end when they rededicated themselves to their work. He is ranked tenth among the minor Prophets.
