In the final episode of the Gate of Generosity series (Day 98, Orchos Tzaddikim, page 578, Treasure for Life edition) on the Jewish Inspiration Podcast, Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe emphasizes the importance of using wealth generously to acquire mitzvahs, such as purchasing a costly Esrog, as exemplified by Rabban Gamliel, to demonstrate devotion to Hashem. He compares this to investing in relationships by bringing home small gifts, like flowers, to nurture love and connection, urging listeners to prioritize mitzvahs over material luxuries like car upgrades, and to beautify mitzvahs with items like a fine menorah or Shabbos food to express love for God.Rabbi Wolbe encourages generosity beyond money, such as lending books or household items through gemachs (free loan societies), even if they return damaged, as this is part of the mitzvah. He stresses sharing Torah wisdom as the highest form of generosity, citing Rabbi Noah Weinberg's teaching to “teach what you know,” as it guides others toward eternal life. While warning against squandering wealth on personal desires, he advocates giving to the poor with the best intentions, promising divine rewards unseen by any eye, concluding the Gate of Generosity with a call to support Torch's global Torah outreach.Recorded at TORCH Centre in the Levin Family Studios (B) to a live audience on March 10, 2025, in Houston, Texas.Released as Podcast on July 18, 2025_____________This series on Orchos Tzadikim/Ways of the Righteous is produced in partnership with Hachzek.Join the revolution of daily Mussar study at hachzek.com.We are using the Treasure of Life edition of the Orchos Tzadikkim (Published by Feldheim)_____________Listen, Subscribe & Share: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/jewish-inspiration-podcast-rabbi-aryeh-wolbe/id1476610783Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4r0KfjMzmCNQbiNaZBCSU7) to stay inspired! Share your questions at aw@torchweb.org or visit torchweb.org for more Torah content.  _____________About the Host:Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe, Director of TORCH in Houston, brings decades of Torah scholarship to guide listeners in applying Jewish wisdom to daily life.  To directly send your questions, comments, and feedback, please email: awolbe@torchweb.org_____________Support Our Mission:Our Mission is Connecting Jews & Judaism.      In this episode of the Parsha Review Podcast, Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe discusses Parshas Pinchas, focusing on the story of Pinchas's zealous act against Zimri and Cosbi, who publicly defied God's will by engaging in illicit relations, as described in Numbers 25. Rabbi Wolbe highlights the danger of blurring moral lines, as Zimri attempted by bringing a Moabite woman into the Jewish community, comparing it to Rebecca's relief upon learning her conflicting womb movements were due to twins with distinct destinies, not a single confused child. He emphasizes that clarity in commitment to Torah and mitzvahs is crucial, drawing parallels to Haman's and Amalek's attempts to assimilate and confuse the Jewish people, urging listeners to avoid compromise in spiritual matters and to define their stance firmly on the side of holiness and light.Rabbi Wolbe encourages small, intentional steps toward observance without compromising core commitments, using examples like health goals to illustrate the importance of mental resolve even if actions lag. He stresses the need for wisdom to distinguish between holy and unholy, as recited in Havdalah and Talmudic prayers, to avoid confusion. A story of a newly observant Jew publicly affirming their identity as a religious Jew underscores how verbalizing commitment clarifies one's path. Rabbi Wolbe concludes by urging listeners to manifest their spiritual goals through clear identification with Torah values, fostering a deeper connection to God and a purposeful Shabbos._____________This episode (Ep 7.38) of the Parsha Review Podcast by Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe on Parshas Pinchas is dedicated in honor of our Holy Soldiers in the Battlefield and our Torah Scholars in the Study Halls who are fighting for the safety of our nation!Download & Print the Parsha Review Notes:https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ncaRyoH5iJmGGoMZs9y82Hz2ofViVouv?usp=sharingRecorded at TORCH Studios (C) to an online TORCHzoom.com audience on July 16, 2025, in Passaic, New Jersey.Released as Podcast on July 18, 2025_____________Subscribe: Apple Podcasts (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/parsha-review-podcast-rabbi-aryeh-wolbe/id1651930083)Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/show/22lv1kXJob5ZNLaAl6CHTQ) to stay inspired! Share your questions at awolbe@torchweb.org or visit torchweb.org for more Torah content.  _____________About the Host:Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe, Director of TORCH in Houston, brings decades of Torah scholarship to guide listeners in applying Jewish wisdom to daily life.  To directly send your questions, comments, and feedback: awolbe@torchweb.org_____________Support Our Mission:Help us share Jewish wisdom globally by sponsoring an episode at torchweb.org. In this episode of the Jewish Inspiration Podcast, Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe continues his discussion on the Gate of Generosity from Orchos Tzaddikim (Day 97, page 573, Treasure for Life edition), emphasizing the profound impact of charity (tzedakah) and generosity. He highlights how tzedakah uplifts nations, citing the Jewish community's outpouring of support after October 7th, including Torch's contribution of thousands of watches for soldiers in Israel. Rabbi Wolbe underscores that generosity extends beyond money to include kind words, thoughts, and actions, all of which accompany a person to the world to come, as supported by Talmudic teachings and verses from Psalms and Isaiah.Drawing on biblical figures like Abraham, King David, and King Solomon, Rabbi Wolbe illustrates how their tzedakah brought honor, life, and divine praise, noting that charity is so powerful that it redeems Israel and exalts God. He emphasizes that the world was built on kindness (olam chesed yibane), urging listeners to embrace generosity as a core trait that engenders blessings and eternal rewards. The episode ties into the Torch campaign, encouraging sponsorship to support global Jewish learning, reinforcing that every act of giving—whether material or spiritual—elevates both the giver and the community.Recorded at TORCH Centre in the Levin Family Studios (B) to a live audience on March 10, 2025, in Houston, Texas.Released as Podcast on July 16, 2025_____________This series on Orchos Tzadikim/Ways of the Righteous is produced in partnership with Hachzek.Join the revolution of daily Mussar study at hachzek.com.We are using the Treasure of Life edition of the Orchos Tzadikkim (Published by Feldheim)_____________Listen, Subscribe & Share: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/jewish-inspiration-podcast-rabbi-aryeh-wolbe/id1476610783Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/4r0KfjMzmCNQbiNaZBCSU7) to stay inspired! In this episode, I sit down with Rabbi Pill, a Torah scholar and constitutional law professor, to explore the sacred yet complex process of halachic decision-making. We examine whether halacha is a divine system with fixed answers or a human endeavor grounded in humility, judgment, and tradition. From the Talmud to the Shulchan Aruch, we trace how halachic authority is defined and how differing practices are understood. Rabbi Pill brings clarity and reverence to this deep conversation, helping us better understand how halacha is built, sustained, and lived and where we draw the line between the immutable and the debatable.  Join the Conversation! Breakneck Through the Bible · Rabbi Bentzi Epstein

Uncover the mystical journey of human development that begins before birth. While in the womb, an angel teaches every soul the entire Torah, giving them perfect clarity and knowledge. But the moment they begin their journey into this world, that divine knowledge is erased with a gentle tap on the lips. It's why every baby enters the world crying—they've just lost cosmic understanding and entered a world of confusion. You'll discover why the strongest people face the greatest challenges, how every relationship in this world mirrors our connection to God, and why teaching resilience—not perfection—is a parent's most crucial job.

In this episode of the Ask Away series on the Everyday Judaism Podcast, Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe addresses a variety of listener questions about Jewish practices and beliefs at the Torch Center in Houston. He clarifies that one does not need to stand when a covered Torah scroll is at rest on the bimah, but standing is required during its transportation, such as when it's removed from the ark or carried, with varying opinions on standing during its reading or blessings. On writing in sacred texts, Rabbi Wolbe explains that notes can be taken to aid Torah study if done respectfully, avoiding excessive markings that diminish a book's sanctity, and encourages maintaining a notebook for learning, as historical sages did. He addresses the disposal of holy texts in a genizah, a designated burial for worn-out sacred items, contrasting past preservation efforts with modern abundance due to printing and digital resources. Finally, Rabbi Wolbe attributes the root of antisemitism to a historical jealousy of the Jewish people's unique relationship with God and the Torah, exacerbated when Jews fail to uphold their responsibilities, urging greater commitment to Jewish values to mitigate such tensions. In this episode of Ask Away we address these questions and topics:Sitting while the Torah is out of the Ark, when it's covered and uncovered, or regarding the person holding the Torah during the Haftorah reading? Is it permissible to write notes in a book like the Book of Judges during a Torah study class? Does it matter if notes are written in pen or pencil? Is it okay to own a Torah book you haven't yet learned from but intend to study? How does the concept of genizah (storing or burying sacred texts) align with the practice of preserving or burying holy texts? Is it permissible to delete digital files containing Hashem's name, such as on a phone? What is the root of antisemitism, especially given current global issues?Does the rule of placing books from greatest to least importance apply only when they are laid on a table, not on a bookshelf? And much more ... At the heart of The Prophets' vision are “The 24 Essential Supply Chain Processes.” What are they? Find out, and see the future yourself. Click here “Just tell us why you're making changes.” That simple request from a Tier 2 supplier at an AIAG conference says everything about where the automotive supply chain still struggles. The supply base still faces a lack of basic communication. Data is also slow to move, locked in outdated systems, or scattered across formats. Catena-X aims to address these issues. In this episode, Jan Griffiths, Jim Liegghio, and Terry Onica sit down with Kevin Piotrowski, Chief Transformation Officer at AIAG, to talk about what Catena-X really is and what it means for the future of the automotive supply chain.Kevin explains what Catena-X does. It's a network that allows companies to share complex data across the entire supply chain, up and down multiple tiers. Catena-X is encrypted, controlled, and designed to enable suppliers and customers to decide who sees what. It's not your usual point-to-point system; it's built for multi-tier collaboration. The group gets into real examples. One supplier used Catena-X to calculate carbon footprint using actual data instead of averages and found a 46% drop in reported emissions. And no, Catena-X isn't replacing EDI. Kevin clarifies that EDI still works well for structured transactions like shipment notices. Catena-X handles everything that doesn't fit neatly into that box—data that needs to be shared for visibility, not stored or processed. They also talk about supplier overload, where small raw materials suppliers get hit with hundreds of requests for the same information. Catena-X could solve that by allowing assessments and surveys to be shared once, securely, across customers. This isn't just a European project. It's a global standard, and AIAG is helping drive its rollout in North America. OEMs, suppliers, and solution providers are already getting involved, with pilot projects and certifications underway. The episode closes with a message to listeners: this is just the start. There's more to cover, and the team wants to hear your questions. If you want to know something about Catena-X, now's the time to ask.Themes discussed in this episode:The need to fix basic communication gaps in the automotive supply chainHow Catena-X enables secure, multi-tier data sharing across suppliers and OEMsThe importance of real-time data in automotive supply chainsWhy traditional data systems can't keep up with today's global supply chainsThe difference between structured EDI and Catena-X's complex data exchangeHow Catena-X helps contain quality issues before they become costly recallsThe critical role of encrypted, permission-based access in protecting supply chain IPWhat tech providers need to know about Catena-X certification and readinessFeatured on this episode:Name: Kevin PiotrowskiTitle: Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) at Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG)About: Kevin serves as Chief Transformation Officer at AIAG, where he leads enterprise-wide transformation for the world's largest global automotive association. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. — Psalm 23:5 This line in Psalm 23 picks up on an interesting tidbit about the shepherd's care for his sheep. Shepherds will use oil on a sheep's head to keep pesky bugs away and to help protect the animal's skin from the sun. The psalmist David's phrasing here also points symbolically to anointing as a calling or commissioning that comes from God. Anointing a person's head with oil was very significant in ancient Israel. David himself was anointed with oil when God chose him to be the king of Israel (1 Samuel 16:1-13). Prophets and priests were also anointed with oil (see Exodus 29:9; 1 Kings 19:15-16). And these anointings included more than just a few drops on the recipient's head. Psalm 133 describes the anointing oil as “running down on the beard” and dripping onto the collar of a person's robe. This picture describes something of the lavish blessing and equipping that God bestows on his dedicated servants. When David says his cup overflows, he is referring to the lavishness of the shepherd's care and protection. The psalmist is overwhelmed by the goodness of God, despite the foolishness and wandering of his beloved sheep. In what ways are you experiencing God's lavish care? Generous Shepherd, fill our minds and hearts with memories of the many ways you care for and provide for us, watching over us always. We are grateful for the lavish abundance of your care. Amen.

A Sunday sermon by Peter DuMont. Why do we worship Jesus?     Six weeks ago we gathered on Easter Sunday with a palpable sense of joy to celebrate Jesus' resurrection. Since then we have been walking through his disciples experience of grief, disorientation, and sorrow between his death and resurrection. This week we arrive at the incredible finale to Jesus' earthly ministry where he is revealed in resurrection wholeness to his gathered disciples.     Seeing him is staggering to the disciples, but Jesus does more than just shock them—he leads them through the Law, the Prophets, and his own teachings to explain the new reality his resurrection brings. He guides them backward into remembrance of God's promises now being fulfilled, and forward into God's future purposes.     Jesus places himself at the center of history and commissions his disciples into a life of witness. A witness borne not from human wisdom or enthusiasm but wrapped in power that the Father promised…power to be revealed at Pentecost.    Let us come to worship Jesus the Lamb of God this Sunday, asking to have our hearts and minds opened to greater wonder and joy at the dimensions of his triumphant reality.

Pastor Ben teaches from the minor prophet book of Micah. Micah calls out the leaders and false prophets for their idolatry and selfish ambitions. There is a clear warning of harship to come because of this sin that had corrupted their ways. But the story it never over, as we learned from other prophets. Our God who is great in mercy, shows His compassion upon the repentant heart. His kindess and mercy is our motivation to live a life in accordance to His will and purpose. If you carry His name, carry His purpose.

Israel demands a king like the nations. They make their way from Saul to David to Solomon, but after Solomon dies, the tribes fracture, dividing between north and south. As kings now rule over each kingdom, different prophets are called to speak truth to the powers. As we introduce the role of the prophets in our Grand Narrative, we listen in to what we might also learn from these voices today.

During the Babylonian siege in 586 BCE, the daily Temple offerings stopped because of the famine (tradition). During the Roman siege in 70 CE, the Romans broke through the walls of Jerusalem (according to tradition). The Fast of Tamuz is a shorter fast on the Jewish calendar and lasts from sunrise to sunset. It is one of four similar fast days. The fast remembers the breeching of Jerusalem's walls. In this episode of the Parsha Review Podcast, Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe explores Parshas Balak, focusing on the story of Balak, the king of Moab, who hires the powerful prophet Bilaam to curse the Jewish people (Numbers 22). Rabbi Wolbe recounts the riveting narrative where Bilaam's donkey, divinely enabled to speak, rebukes him for striking it, symbolizing resistance to his mission to curse the Jews. Rashi's commentary highlights the donkey's reference to “three times” as an allusion to the Jewish people's observance of the three festivals (Pesach, Shavuot, Sukkot), which Bilaam seeks to undermine. Rabbi Wolbe explains why the festivals define the Jewish people, emphasizing the miraculous nature of Jerusalem's Temple Mount, which, like a deer's hide, supernaturally expands to accommodate millions during these pilgrimages without anyone feeling cramped. This contrasts sharply with Bilaam's frustration when his donkey pins his leg against a wall, revealing his inability to tolerate minor discomfort, unlike the Jewish people who trust in Hashem's providence. Rabbi Wolbe draws a broader lesson, contrasting Bilaam's arrogance and reliance on material wealth with the Jewish people's faith in Hashem's control, as seen in historical miracles like the Six-Day War and the protection of Jewish homes during festival pilgrimages. He critiques the modern notion of “financial security” as a form of arrogance, urging listeners to let go of self-reliance and trust in Hashem while still acting responsibly. Using the metaphor of a tractor-trailer stuck under an overpass, he suggests “letting the air out of our arrogance” to align with divine will. The episode concludes with a call to live with faith, recognizing that Hashem orchestrates every outcome, and to embrace this trust for a meaningful Shabbos and life._____________This episode (Ep 7.37) of the Parsha Review Podcast by Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe on Parshas Balak is dedicated in honor of our Holy Soldiers in the Battlefield and our Torah Scholars in the Study Halls who are fighting for the safety of our nation!Download & Print the Parsha Review Notes:https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ncaRyoH5iJmGGoMZs9y82Hz2ofViVouv?usp=sharingRecorded at TORCH Studios (C) to an online TORCHzoom.com audience on July 8, 2025, in Passaic, New Jersey.Released as Podcast on July 10, 2025_____________Subscribe: Apple Podcasts (https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/parsha-review-podcast-rabbi-aryeh-wolbe/id1651930083)Spotify (https://open.spotify.com/show/22lv1kXJob5ZNLaAl6CHTQ) to stay inspired! What does punk rock have to do with the heart of the Gospel? In this episode, the Voxology team, joined by the Dr. Timothy Gombis, dives deep into the unexpected intersections of radical community, inclusivity, and the teachings of Jesus. From punk rock's raw authenticity to the profound ministry of disability-focused communities that Mike recently experienced at the "Hope Heals" camp. The conversation explores how cruciformity—the self-giving love of Jesus—emerges in unlikely places. Along the way, they unpack the role of the church in society, faith and politics, and navigating cultural challenges with humility and curiosity. By reflecting on the ways marginalized voices reveal the Gospel's power, the team challenges traditional notions of faith and invites listeners to reimagine how justice, community, and theology come alive in everyday life. Whether discussing mutual ministry, the prophetic edge of punk culture, or stories of transformative love, this episode is a powerful reminder that the Gospel is both disruptive and healing. We encourage and would love for you to join this conversation. Share your thoughts on how faith intersects with culture and community on Facebook and Instagram, or email us your questions as we pursue deeper understanding together. Let's journey forward in learning, dialogue, and the radical love of Jesus.
