In 1966 the student-led CD and Record Library opened its doors to staff and students at the University of Nottingham. It started out life as a jazz library but has since grown to boast a collection of more than 12,000 albums in all sorts of genres. The Nottingham University Samworth Academy (NUSA) — has opened its doors, making it the country's first 'university academy'. In this video meet the people who made it happen, and the pupils about their feelings on the new academy. NUSA opened on the site of the refurbished William Sharp School in the shadow of the brand-new £24m building which is under construction and due for completion in September 2010. Once the new facility is complete the academy will be home to 950 pupils.
