In this lesson from the Gate of Repentance (Shaar HaTeshuvah), Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe explores one of Judaism's most hopeful teachings: Hashem never closes the door to teshuvah. No matter how many mistakes a person has made or how far they may have drifted, the opportunity to return always remains open. Rabbi Wolbe explains that life's struggles, temptations, and failures are part of the human experience, and Hashem understands those challenges. The purpose of teshuvah is not to dwell on guilt but to restore the loving relationship between a person and their Creator. Hashem eagerly awaits every sincere step we take toward Him, meeting us with compassion and helping us overcome even the barriers we thought were impossible to remove. A central theme of the episode is that Hashem actively assists those who genuinely seek to return. Rabbi Wolbe illustrates this with the Torah's promise that Hashem will "circumcise your heart," removing the emotional and spiritual barriers we ourselves have created. Whether those barriers are long-held habits, fears of change, social pressures, or the belief that "I could never do that," Hashem grants strength beyond our natural abilities when our desire for closeness is sincere. The greatest obstacle to growth is often not reality but the invisible limitations we place upon ourselves. The lesson concludes by describing four motivations that inspire repentance: recognizing Hashem's boundless kindness, accepting rebuke from others, witnessing the consequences of wrongdoing, and learning from one's own suffering. While all four can awaken a person to change, Rabbi Wolbe emphasizes that the highest form of teshuvah is returning out of love, not fear. The ideal relationship with Hashem is not one motivated by punishment or external pressure, but by gratitude, appreciation, and the sincere desire to restore the closeness that sin has damaged. DairyBeef 500 advisor, Tommy Cox, gives some top tips to manage your dairy beef system in the coming weeks and Teagasc advisor, John Kilboyle, previews the National DairyBeef 500 Open Day on the farm of Keith and Olivia Lowry taking place on the 9th July in Co Galway. Tommy outlines the key grassland management tips for dairy-beef farmers currently and into July and August, particularly in a year with variable growth rates and weather conditions.  He discusses the liveweight gains farmers should be targeting for grazing cattle over the summer months, and how can they monitor performance effectively.  Tommy explains the different options for farmers to consider before introducing concentrates to grazing cattle, and what factors should influence that decision.  He also warns about some of the main animal health risks during late summer particularly lung worm, including parasites and respiratory issues, and what preventative measures should be taken. The National DairyBeef 500 Open Day takes place on Keith and Olivia Lowry's farm  just outside Tuam, Co. Galway on 9th July @ 6:30pm.  Operating a predominantly early-maturing steer system on 30.6 hectares of free-draining land, the farm has undergone significant development in recent years with a strong focus on grassland management, calf performance, animal health and infrastructure improvement.  The farm currently rears both autumn and spring-born dairy-beef calves with 80 calves being reared on the farm and John explains how the Lowrys put a strong emphasis on sourcing calves from a small number of trusted dairy farms and the benefits this has meant in terms of calf performance, health and overall management.  A lot of investment has gone into grazing infrastructure, with the new paddock system, roadway and water network which has improved grass utilisation, production and labour efficiency.  John also discusses how reseeding has been a key part of the farm development plan and the benefits in terms of silage quality and animal performance. Topics to be discussed on the evening include:·      Calf sourcing and rearing strategies·      Calf health and vaccination programmes·      Grassland management and grazing infrastructure·      Silage quality and winter feed planning·      Labour-efficient farming systems This is a great opportunity to meet with the DairyBeef 500 team. Wenn ich mich mit Menschen meines Jahrgangs unterhalte, merke ich: Irgendwann kommt für viele von uns der Moment, in dem man sich um die eigenen Eltern kümmern muss.Trotzdem wurde es Zeit, das Mikrofon wieder einzuschalten.Ob ich künftig wieder regelmäßig neue Folgen veröffentlichen kann, weiß ich noch nicht. Für Episode 46 hat es aber endlich geklappt. Die Idee dazu entstand bereits im vergangenen Jahr. Bei den Open Days in Bergheim-Glessen habe ich zu Ulf gesagt: „Wir müssen das endlich machen.“Was daraus entstanden ist, hat selbst mich überrascht.Es ist die bislang längste Aufnahme der Blechgedanken: Zweieinhalb Stunden voller Geschichten, Erinnerungen und ehrlicher Einblicke. Und als wir am Ende auf die Uhr schauten, konnten wir kaum glauben, wie schnell die Zeit vergangen war.Die Folge erscheint als Doppelfolge und gleichzeitig als Kooperation mit Kevin von Savage Scooters. One of my favourite things about our Diploma Open Days is seeing who joins us. This time we had jewellers at all different stages of their journey. Some people had never soldered before. Others had been making jewellery for 15 years. Some already had businesses and felt ready to take their work to the next level. And as always, the questions were brilliant.
