Could OCD be tricking you into trusting your imagination more than reality? In this episode of The OCD Whisperer Podcast, Kristina Orlova speaks with Catherine Goldhouse, ICBT therapist and OCD specialist. Together, they explore one of the most powerful concepts in Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (ICBT): how OCD overrides your mind by convincing you that possibility is evidence. Catherine breaks down: • Why intrusive thoughts are not the real problem in OCD • How OCD shifts your default from trust to doubt • Why possibility alone feels convincing when OCD takes over • The hidden role of self-doubt, identity, and imagination in OCD This conversation also dives into: • How OCD disconnects people from their senses and common sense • The difference between normal reasoning and OCD reasoning • Why people with OCD often search for evidence after already reaching a conclusion • How past experiences become stories that shape OCD fears • The concept of "reverse reasoning" and how it keeps OCD alive • Why imagination can become more trusted than reality If you've ever found yourself asking, "But what if?" over and over again, this episode will help you understand why OCD feels so convincing—and how ICBT helps people break free from its grip. Whether you're struggling with OCD yourself or supporting someone who is, this episode offers practical insights, hope, and a completely different way of understanding OCD recovery.
The Joyful Manifestation Show with Sugandhii Iyer Vibrational Alignment, Materialized Spirit, and the Confidence to Manifest Love Sugandhii Iyer Opens The Joyful Manifestation Show In this episode of The Joyful Manifestation Show, host Sugandhii Iyer opens by describing the program as a high-vibration space focused on wealth and soulmate love. She begins with the idea that all desired possibilities already exist in space, much like the concept explored in What the Bleep Do We Know!? According to Sugandhii, people attract specific outcomes based on their vibrational state, meaning that what someone “vibes” or aligns with determines which possibility moves toward them. Possibilities, Attraction, and the Fictitious Jane Example Sugandhii uses the example of fictitious Jane and fictitious John to explain how many possible relationship outcomes can exist at once. John might ignore Jane, call her, be only a friend, fall in love with her, propose marriage, or offer a different kind of commitment. Sugandhii explains that Jane's attraction factor will pull toward her the possibility that best matches her vibration at that moment. She emphasizes that people should first “fix” or align themselves rather than trying to fix the whole world, because their personal vibration determines what they attract. Stalking, Mislabeling, and Romantic Fear The episode briefly turns to the modern tendency to label ordinary romantic interest as stalking. Sugandhii argues that people have become too paranoid and quick to define simple gestures, such as calling across a room or trying to reconnect, as threatening. She distinguishes genuine stalking from innocent expressions of interest and says that romantic effort depends on context, tone, and how a person approaches the other. Her broader point is that fear-based thinking can block natural connection and make people hesitant to act from affection. Time, Aging, and Personal Mastery Sugandhii then discusses aging and the way people connect age to the Earth's revolution around the sun. She argues that while the Earth's orbit may record the passage of time, it does not automatically dictate the condition, vitality, or attractiveness of a person's body. She says people age differently depending on how they live, care for themselves, and relate to time. In her view, time can become a friend rather than an enemy, and some people may improve physically, emotionally, and energetically as time passes. Temples, Faith, and Protection from Loss Sugandhii shares a recent family trip to two important temples in the Indian state where she is currently staying. One temple is associated with peace and harmony, while another is connected to a deity believed to protect people from theft. She describes a village where homes traditionally do not have doors because people believe the deity prevents robbery and brings consequences to those who steal. For Sugandhii, visiting the temple and touching the deity becomes an act of faith, blessing, and energetic protection, whether listeners understand it as divine power or as an energy force. Money Manifestation and Materialized Spirit In the money manifestation section, Sugandhii draws from Money and the Law of Attraction Cards by Esther and Jerry Hicks, sharing the message, “The physical me is materialized spirit.” She explains that money and material possessions should not be viewed as separate from spirituality, because the physical world is spirit expressed in material form. She argues that handling, attracting, spending, and receiving money are all spiritual actions. In this framing, wanting abundance is not wrong or unspiritual; it is part of participating in the physical world where spirit has materialized. Wealth Vibration, Environment, and Abundance Energy Sugandhii expands on money manifestation by describing the wealthy visual environment around her current home: swimming pools, a golf course, hills, mountains, a basketball court, and a gym with glass walls overlooking the scenery. She says environments like these carry vibrations of wealth, beauty, and abundance, and those vibrations enter a person's aura. She compares this to handling money as a cashier or being surrounded by elegant objects such as chandeliers and décor. Even if someone physically parts with money, she says the vibration of money and abundance can remain attached to their energy field and influence what they attract next. Soulmate Love, Standards, and Personal Alignment In the soulmate manifestation section, Sugandhii teaches that people must set their own physical, emotional, mental, and relational standards rather than allowing others to dictate what well-being should look like. She cautions against automatically accepting advice such as leaving a partner because they failed to bring flowers or meet someone else's expectations. Instead, she says each person must decide what matters in their own love story. Once someone aligns with their true relationship desire, Sugandhii says love can flow more easily, because no love truly disappears when a person is properly aligned with it. Confidence, Affirmations, and Closing Encouragement Sugandhii closes the show with affirmations focused on confidence, soulmate love, divine support, and the belief that life is always working out. She encourages listeners to feel lovable, believe their soulmate loves them, and trust that what they want can come toward them through alignment. She also reminds listeners not to model their relationships after soap operas or outside drama, because those stories often exaggerate conflict rather than showing healthy solutions. The episode ends with Sugandhii wishing listeners a fantastic week and month, encouraging them to manifest as much as possible through the rest of June.
There's a voice in your head that's been running for twenty-plus years, and it's been deciding what's possible for you before you've had a chance to consider it. "That's not realistic." "That seems unreasonable." "Someone like me doesn't do that." Most high performers have never noticed the filter is even there. They've just lived inside its conclusions. In Day 5 of the What Fits You 8-Day Mini Course, we name the filter, get around it, and walk you through the one exercise that's surfaced more achievable career possibilities than any self-assessment tool we've used. After almost 100,000 people through this course, here's what we know: the things you keep dismissing as "wildly unrealistic" are almost never unrealistic. They're just unfamiliar. What you'll learn: Why your brain has been ruling out the best career possibilities before you've had the chance to consider them The specific cognitive bias that runs harder the longer you've been a high performer The 3 Wildly Unrealistic Things exercise, how to do it, and why almost every answer is more achievable than it sounds What we found after collecting tens of thousands of responses to this exercise, and why it stopped us in our tracks How what you write down today becomes the foundation for the rest of this course Our book, Happen To Your Career: An Unconventional Approach To Career Change and Meaningful Work, is now available on audiobook! Artificial intelligence can generate outlines, summaries, illustrations, and sermon-like content in seconds. But should preachers use it? And if so, how?In this episode of the Expositors Collective podcast, Mike Neglia hosts a live panel discussion with Bob Franquiz, Pilgrim Benham, Ryan Marr, and Alan Stoddard on AI, ChatGPT, pastoral integrity, and the future of sermon preparation.Rather than simply asking whether AI can save time, the panel presses into deeper questions. What happens to the preacher when the work of sermon preparation is delegated to a machine? Can technology glorify God, or can it train us to depend less on prayer, study, Scripture, and the Holy Spirit? Where might AI serve as a limited tool, and where does it become a dangerous substitute?Pilgrim Benham reflects on the moral weight of technology and warns against treating tools as spiritually neutral. Ryan Marr offers a thoughtful, contrarian perspective on the formative effects of AI in the life of the preacher. Bob Franquiz speaks to the limits of ChatGPT, reminding listeners that AI can generate words quickly, but it cannot pastor people, carry a burden, or replace the preacher's communion with God in the text. Mike Neglia also suggests a narrow and cautious way AI might be used after a sermon draft is mostly complete, as a tool for clarification rather than creation. The central concern of this conversation is not fear of technology, but faithfulness in ministry. Preachers are called to study, pray, think, shepherd, and proclaim. AI may assist with certain tasks, but it cannot replace the spiritual and pastoral work of preaching. This conversation was recorded at an Expositors Collective preacher training event in St Petersburg, Florida. As a sidebar, the panel also ends with discussion on mentoring relationships, spotting future leaders, "overpreparing" early in ministry, the value of reading while you are young, and the difficult question every preacher faces: how do you know when a sermon is actually done?Featured guestsBob Franquiz is the Founding and Senior Pastor of Calvary Fellowship in Miramar, Florida. He is the author of seven books, including Pull: Making Your Church Magnetic and Begin: First Steps for the Journey of Faith. Before entering pastoral ministry, Bob played guitar for the Christian hardcore band Strongarm, often regarded as one of the most influential Christian metal bands of its era. Prior to planting Calvary Fellowship, he served as an assistant pastor at Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale. Bob holds a Ph.D. in Bible Exposition from Liberty University and a master's degree in theological studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He and his wife, Carey, have been married since 1997 and have three children: Mia, Alexander, and Olivia.Pilgrim Benham has planted churches and pastored since 2002. He is the Dean of Students at Calvary Chapel Bible College, an instructor, and serves on the pastoral team at WestChurch in Bradenton, Florida. Pilgrim loves equipping the saints and also does sermon coaching when not enjoying Florida's beaches.Ryan Marr is the Lead Pastor of Calvary Chapel St Petersburg, where he has served in pastoral ministry since 2004. He holds an M.A. in Biblical and Theological Studies from Western Seminary, and brings years of experience in preaching, leadership, and local church ministry.Dr Alan Stoddard is the lead pastor of Imagine Church in Granbury, Texas, and is part of the Expositors Collective leadership team.AI and the Preacher's Calling - Dr Paul Hoffman : https://open.spotify.com/episode/4Fsx7d2iGUXh2oUcQOnyYG?si=9157ccf1a9144cac The Perils and Possibilities of ChatGPT - Nick Cady and Mike Neglia: https://open.spotify.com/episode/2oTViQSw1a641dsMqfyMOO?si=6f3cc77c796d4174Connect:For information about our upcoming training events visit ExpositorsCollective.com Join our private Facebook group to continue the conversation: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ExpositorsCollective

Katharine Wilkinson has a Ph.D. in geography and the environment, is well known for being a co-author of the book Drawdown and co-founder of The All We Can Save Project. She joins the Newscast this week to discuss her latest book Climate Wayfinding: Healing Ourselves and the Planet We Call Home. As a journalist, it's unhelpful for me to divorce myself from the topic of this interview, as I have experienced, time and again, the sense of "murky overwhelm" this book is specifically designed to address. But Wilkinson didn't just write this book for journalists like myself who cover ecological crises for a living. She wrote it for readers and listeners like you. "I think we're all in our own ways grappling with this increasingly mapless time, right? And that is quite literally true," Wilkinson says. "'Is there hope?' and 'What can I do?' I think these are fundamentally navigational questions as much as they are questions of action." What Climate Wayfinding does that I think is unique is it directly addresses the reader and takes them through a process of self-examination. Of sitting with the uncomfortable emotions one feels about our ecological crises, without judgment. And from that self-compassion, asking the reader to imagine the world they want to see instead and encouraging them to map out how they see themselves working to achieve it. Please take a minute to let us know what you think of our podcast here. Mike DiGirolamo is the host & producer for the Mongabay Newscast based in Sydney. Find him on LinkedIn and Bluesky. In this episode, Candice sits down with author and end-of-life advocate Erica Baccus to share the extraordinary love story she and her husband, John, built over 41 years together. After John was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, the couple faced one of life's most difficult realities and ultimately made a decision rooted in love, dignity, and honoring his wishes. Erica recounts their journey, the challenges they faced, and the promise she made to support him through the path he chose. In this episode, they discuss: Erica and John's 41-year love story and the life they built together The early signs of Alzheimer's and the path to John's diagnosis Why conversations about quality of life and end-of-life wishes matter The challenges families face when navigating dementia and caregiving The legal and ethical complexities surrounding assisted dying and dementia How writing A Promise Kept helped Erica process grief and honor John's legacy Finding purpose, gratitude, and healing after profound loss This episode is a powerful testament to love, courage, and the promises we keep for the people who matter most. Even in life's hardest moments, compassion and connection can guide us toward meaning, purpose, and hope. About Erica: Erica Baccus started her professional career in the suburbs of Chicago as an 8th-grade English teacher and went on to San Francisco to become a high-tech marketing, advertising, and research executive. She and her beloved husband John were married for 41 years. Together they lived an active and adventurous life—skiing, golfing, hiking, and traveling around the world. Now she helps advocate and educate people about end-of-life decisions, exploring the moral and ethical perils so many face, having been there herself as a caregiver, widow, and having had the lived-experience regarding end-of-life autonomy for dementia. Grief makes people uncomfortable, and that discomfort shapes what we're allowed to say, show, and share. Today, Madison sits down with Toronto based visual artist, writer, and educator Michèle Pearson Clarke to talk about what happens when you allow yourself move with grief, rather than simply allowing it to move through or past you. Clarke walks us through an auto-ethnographic practice rooted in the longing and losses of Brown and Black queer people, and how her practice as an artist took shape later in life. Growing up in Trinidad, she didn't imagine herself as an artist, but volunteering at the Inside Out LGBT Film and Video Festival cracked open a new definition of who gets to make work. We talk about coming to Canada at 19, what it means to become “Capital B” Black in a Canadian context, and how social work and psychology trained her to navigate vulnerability, boundaries, and the structural forces that shape personal pain.We also have a frank discussion about some relevant topics this Pride, from Queer curating to relationship culture, while discussing some works in Clarke's oeuvre. We discuss why gay divorce can feel so abstract and so unspeakable in our community that fought so hard for marriage equality, and how Clarke articulates more nuanced Queer experience in her work. Clarke shares how she thinks about the limits and strengths of the still image versus video, why repetition matters, and how she wants viewers to feel something, not just “get it.” Plus, we dig into her time as Toronto's photo laureate during the pandemic, her work on queer curating, and the realities of balancing teaching with an art practice, including creative blocks and rebuilding confidence. If you are interested in contemporary Canadian photography, video art, 2SLGBTQ+ artists, Black Canadian art, and the creative possibilities inside grief, listen to this episode and join in the conversation. In Arteetude 337 – Ilens Hopium, Detlef Schlich and Sophia, his AI Co-Host, continue the philosophical journey begun in Arteetude 336, The Collapse of Wonder. After exploring the flood of AI-generated images, Heidegger's question concerning technology, and Ray Kurzweil's vision of technological acceleration, this episode moves closer to the river — not as a simple metaphor, but as a living method of thought. From the Nile of AfricaSmile to the River Ilen in West Cork, Detlef reflects on how rivers carry memory, sediment, wounds, names, and fragile possibilities of hope. The River Ilen becomes more than landscape: it becomes biography, artistic method, local presence, and a counter-image to technological acceleration. The episode explores the origin of the word Hopium, first used playfully by Dirk in relation to the emerging WAW song idea Ilens Hopium. What began as a joke opens into a deeper philosophical space: She — the River Ilen — is hoping for hope. Through Heidegger's lens, Hopium becomes a word that reveals contradiction: hope and suspicion, medicine and poison, survival and self-deception. Through Kurzweil's lens, the river offers another kind of intelligence — not singularity, but plurality; not acceleration, but return; not one final answer, but bend after bend, name after name. The episode closes with a new Los Inorgánicos piece titled “First Mist from the Ilen — Every Bend a Hope / Before the Song Appears.” This is not intended to replace the future WAW single Ilens Hopium, which Detlef and Dirk hope to release later this year. Instead, it functions as a philosophical companion in the universe of multilayerism — a sonic sketch, a small ritual support, and a first mist rising from the River Ilen before the full song appears.Detlef Schlich is a rock musician, podcaster, visual artist, filmmaker, ritual designer, and media archaeologist based in West Cork. He is recognised for his seminal work, including a scholarly examination of the intersections between shamanism, art, and digital culture, and his acclaimed video installation, Transodin's Tragedy. He primarily works in performance, photography, painting, sound, installations, and film. In his work, he reflects on the human condition and uses the digital shaman's methodology as an alter ego to create artwork. His media archaeology is a conceptual and practical exercise in uncovering the unique aesthetic, cultural, and political aspects of media in culture.WEBSITE LINKS WAW Official YouTube Channelhttps://www.youtube.com/@WAWBandFrom the forthcoming WAW albumThe Stories of Nil YoungTwo songs from WAW's developing album project The Stories of Nil Young — a mythopoetic journey along the Nile, where river, memory, loss, cooperation and hope flow into music.AfricaSmileAfricaSmile follows the Nile as an imagined journey from its sources to the Mediterranean Sea — a river of memory, movement, rhythm and myth. The song turns the meeting of the White Nile and the Blue Nile into a fragile image of cooperation. It is not a naïve peace anthem, but a wounded musical hope: two different currents meeting, listening, and still moving forward together. The Niles Bittersweet SongThe Nile's Bittersweet Song is the first official single by WAW / Wild Atlantic Way — Detlef Schlich and Dirk Schlömer. The song follows the Nile as a river of memory, beauty, loss and contradiction: a life-giver, but also a force that can take away what it once nourished. Through the story of Kamau, it becomes a poetic reflection on childhood, fragile hope, and the emotional landscape carried by a river that is both kind and cruel.Inspired by East African storytelling traditions and shaped along the Wild Atlantic Way in West Cork, The Nile's Bittersweet Song is a mythopoetic musical journey about water, grief, resilience, and the deep human longing to keep moving with the current.Inspired by East African storytelling traditions and shaped along the Wild Atlantic Way in West Cork, The Nile's Bittersweet Song is a mythopoetic musical journey about water, grief, resilience, and the deep human longing to keep moving with the current.WAW BandcampSilent NightIn a world shadowed by conflict and unrest, we, Dirk Schlömer & Detlef Schlich, felt compelled to reinterpret 'Silent Night' to reflect the complexities and contradictions of modern life.https://studiomuskau.bandcamp.com/track/silent-nightWild Atlantic WayThis results from a trip to West Cork, Ireland, where the beautiful Coastal "Wild Atlantic Way" reaches along the whole west coast!https://studiomuskau.bandcamp.com/track/wild-atlantic-wayYOU TUBE*Silent Night Reimagined* A Multilayered Avant-Garde Journey by WAW aka Dirk Schlömer & Detlef Schlichhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dAbytLSfgCwDetlef SchlichInstagramDetlef Schlich ArTEEtude I love West Cork Artists FacebookDetlef Schlich I love West Cork Artists Group ArTEEtudeYouTube Channelsvisual PodcastArTEEtudeCute Alien TV official WebsiteArTEEtude Detlef Schlich Det Design Tribal Loop Download here for free Detlef Schlich´s Essay about the Cause and Effect of Shamanism, Art and Digital Culturehttps://www.researchgate.net/publication/303749640_Shamanism_Art_and_Digital_Culture_Cause_and_EffectSupport this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/arteetude-a-podcast-with-artists-by-detlef-schlich/exclusive-content

People will go to ridiculous lengths to avoid paying fees. Adding extra items to an online order just to get “free” shipping. Avoiding ATM fees like they're a personal insult. Or driving across town to save a few cents on gas. There's actually a fascinating psychology behind why humans hate fees so much—and why “free” has such unusual power over our decisions. https://www.stlouisfed.org/publications/page-one-economics/2025/apr/psychology-of-free-how-price-of-zero-influences-decisionmaking Most people dismiss the idea of “love at first sight.” How can you fall deeply for someone you barely know? Yet for some people, intense romantic attachment happens incredibly fast—and repeatedly. Researchers call this tendency “emophilia,” and it can dramatically affect relationships, judgment, and emotional wellbeing. Daniel Jones, who studies romantic attraction, personality, and deception at the University of Nevada Reno, explains why some people are wired to fall in love quickly, why those relationships can feel so powerful, and why understanding emophilia may help explain a lot of modern dating behavior. He is author of Falling Fast: The Perils and Possibilities of Emophilia (https://amzn.to/49gvbk9). Recently, the U.S. government has released videos and images showing unidentified aerial phenomena—objects moving in ways that appear difficult to explain with known technology. Some people see proof of extraterrestrial visitors. Others think there must be more conventional explanations. But what do the videos actually tell us? And what don't they tell us? Robert Powell, founding board member of the Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies and an engineer with decades of experience in advanced technology development, joins me to separate speculation from science and explain what experts really know about these strange sightings and what is known about alien visitors. By Phoebe Nieves & Simon Cocking. We look at The 8 Laws of Employee Experience, see more about this book here. This book comes at an interesting time, with a push back from some employers, HR departments and companies who feel that meeting the demands of employees have become too high. Initially when reading this book, we were wondering if there was an anti-woke agenda even being laid down here. Naturally in a period of flux and discourse between different generational needs, perspectives, and goals, it is a tricky path to navigate. Do new entrants have unrealistic expectations from what work should be offering them. At the same time, for employers, it can feel like the amount of time necessary to be expended, to get people up to speed, and delivering a suitable level of work done in return for renumeration offered, is seriously challenging. Jacob Morgan does a good job of finding a wide range of opinions and perspectives to help the reader navigate this challenging subject. The story of his own grandfather, newly arrived in the US, Georgian, barely speaking English, but clearly determined to work hard and return the faith in the first person who would hire him, is a smart, logical, and relevant anecdote. Immigrants are often some of the best hires, they want to work, have moved heaven and earth to even be in their new country, therefore they could be some of your best hires. It is unfortunate we live in a time where it is an easy, lazy, cheap trick to demonize those that look or sound different to us, when they may be a fantastic future asset to your company. Morgan aims to take through the nuances of how to find the best people people for your business, and to then continue to ensure there is value for all parties. Companies with the best retention rates are always to be looked at, and to also have an open door for returning ex-employees too, as they can then bring even more value. Therefore holistic attitudes and approaches can often bring more, and better value for the company and those who work for you, both now, in the past, and in the future. This was a thought provoking read, and one that will reward return visits too. More about the book here Organizations around the world have lost their way. It's time to get back to basics and focus on what really drives people and performance. In chasing talent, organizations have turned employee experience into an entitlement culture – lavishing perks without accountability, lowering standards in the name of empathy, and confusing short-term fixes with long-term solutions. The result? Performance suffers, leaders are scared to lead, and culture drifts. The 8 Laws of Employee Experience is a reset, a new framework to build a future-ready organization in an AI driven world. Best-selling author and professionally trained futurist Jacob Morgan shows that employee experience must return to its core: a value exchange where employees contribute, grow, and lead, and where organizations enable them to thrive. Based on over 100 CHRO interviews at companies like Verizon, Delta, Hilton, IBM,and LVMH, Morgan lays out eight unshakeable laws that form the new operating system for the future of work. This book isn't just about where we are today – it's about where employee experience is going over the next decade, and how leaders can design the future instead of being dragged into it. After reading this book you'll learn how to: Separate signal from noise in an era of trend-chasing with the STEEPLE methodology Discover the eight laws required to build a future-ready organization and how to implement them Use futurist frameworks like the Cone of Possibilities to map out multiple employee experience scenarios Conduct a future-ready audit to see where your company stands today and where it must go next Explore the five potential futures of employee experience and how to steer your organization towards the right one Challenge the myth that employee experience is about making people happy Combining...

In Part 2 of this interview with scholar, philosopher, and researcher Jean Houston, Ph.D., she shares her first meeting with American cultural anthropologist Margaret Mead, one of her early and most impactful mentors. Margaret considered Jean her "adopted daughter" and encouraged her to keep searching, keep understanding, keep putting pieces together to make some sense of it all. Mead was one of the early founders of Earth Day and taught Jean to keep reaching for solutions. Through this experience, Jean learned to produce extensive writing about the "new story of humanity" – she wrote books every month about history, culture, and possibilities. Jean talks today about how we can progress through community and cooperation and use our creativity to the fullest, by recognizing the good in one another. We can activate our innate genes as beings seeking constant growth and evolve to become higher humans as we visualize the possibilities and create the world we want. This is entelechy – it pushes us toward what humanity could be. Through her mentors and studies, Jean learned to observe and hone her particular awareness in a unique way of seeing people and raising them to their greatness. She worked for the UN and with many cultures throughout the world as well as working with Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter. Today we are asked to consider, "What does a world that works look like?" New science, quantum physics, and relational science teach that there is unity and oneness. Jean believes we are in a renaissance period now and although we've experienced the pandemic, wars, and scenes of outrage, we've also seen the linking of hearts, which is indeed the gestation period of a New Humanity. People want peace worldwide. We can do this by accessing the very depths of the human spirit which is available to all of us by seeing the very best in one another. This is the second of a two-part discussion. Info: JeanHouston.com. This interview was originally taped in May 2022. Scholar, philosopher, and researcher Jean Houston, Ph.D., made her transition very recently and we air this in her honor.
Do you feel stressed on a daily basis? Are you feeling low energy? The news is filled with stories of wars, mass shootings, rights getting overturned, economic uncertainty, and so much continuous devastation, it could seem that we are living in End Times. Our guest today, scholar, philosopher, and researcher Jean Houston, Ph.D., delves into the idea of finding possibility, even during these times of great grief. We have been conditioned to respond to the terrible, but it does not have to be this way. As an icon in the Human Potential movement, Jean shares ideas about how the Renaissance, with its advancements in music, art, poetry, and cosmology, came after great plagues and times of war, much like the world situation today. Could we be in a new Renaissance period now? We are once again in a similar time of radical growth, and we have the power within us to see new possibilities and reach mythical potential in our human evolution. Jean shares stories of her travels and talks about her friendship with scholar Joseph Campbell and how they would have "beautiful fights" which were friendly arguments and deep discussions about mythology and the fate of humanity. Campbell wrote extensively about the "Hero's Journey," while Jean considered the "Heroine's Journey." Part of the problem is that 50% of the human race is not being recognized for women's immense creativity and power. Women's ways are missing. With an emphasis on compassion, cooperation, community, and process rather than product and competition, humane creativity must be celebrated by acknowledging the achievements of women. This is Part 1 of the interview. Info: JeanHouston.com. This interview was originally taped in May 2022. Scholar, philosopher, and researcher Jean Houston, Ph.D., made her transition very recently and we air this in her honor.

In this inspiring episode, Candice Snyder sits down with Kora Franco, founder of Aesthetic Wines, a brand rooted in bold living, resilience, and transformation. Kora shares her deeply personal journey from being orphaned at a young age to navigating identity, adversity, and ultimately building a business that empowers women to rise with confidence and intention. In this episode, they discuss: How Kora turned personal adversity into a foundation for resilience and purpose The bold journey she took to discover her biological father Why identity and self-awareness are key to personal growth How she balanced motherhood, education, and career advancement The mindset shift that helped her believe in greater possibilities What it takes to succeed in male-dominated industries How Aesthetic Wines is creating community and empowerment for women This episode is a powerful reminder that your past does not define your future and that bold action can lead you exactly where you are meant to be. About Kora: Kora Franco is the Founder and CEO of Aesthetic Wines, a modern luxury wine brand rooted in resilience, ambition, and bold self-expression. Guided by a deeply personal journey shaped by both triumph and personal loss, Kora believes that luxury is a mindset — one defined by intention, confidence, and the ability to appreciate the journey as much as the destination. Before founding Aesthetic Wines, Kora built her career in banking and consulting, working with top financial institutions and one of the Big Four consulting firms in New York City. Her experience navigating high-performance, male-dominated environments sharpened her strategic mindset, discipline, and leadership style, while reinforcing her passion for empowering women to move boldly, claim their space, confidence, and define success on their own terms. Wine became a natural extension of that philosophy. Through moments of reflection and celebration shared over thoughtfully curated tastings with friends and family, Kora recognized wine as more than a beverage — it is a symbol of mindset, milestones, and the perseverance behind every achievement. This realization became the foundation of Aesthetic Wines — a brand created for those who live intentionally, rise resiliently, and understand that true luxury begins within. Under Kora's leadership, Aesthetic Wines continues to inspire a community that values confidence, connection, and empowerment — honoring not just where they are, but everything it took to get there. https://aestheticwines.comhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/korafranco/https://www.linkedin.com/company/aesthetic-wines/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/aestheticwines TikTok: Aesthetic_Wines ----- Connect with Candice Snyder! In this episode, Candice sits down with John Mitchell, an entrepreneur, author, and creator of a powerful methodology designed to help people unlock higher levels of success. After decades of searching for answers, John discovered what he calls the “missing secret” behind lasting transformation and now teaches it to students and professionals looking to take control of their lives. In this episode, they discuss: Why up to 95% of your daily actions are driven by unconscious patterns How your autopilot mindset may be limiting your success The difference between living an average life and an exceptional one Why most people only prefer success rather than truly pursuing it The power of a simple daily practice to rewire your thinking How consistency, not intensity, creates lasting transformation What it really takes to gain control of your actions and outcomes This episode is a powerful reminder that when you learn to think differently, you begin to live differently, and that the life you want starts with the thoughts you choose every single day! About John: John Mitchell has a fascinating journey. After spending more than 20 years as an entrepreneur, John reached age 50 realizing he wasn't as successful as he believed he should be. Determined to change that, he set out to study the top book on success, Think and Grow Rich, and apply it —word for word—to his life. In the process, John uncovered what he believes is the full secret the book alludes to and developed a simple 12-minute-a-day technique grounded in science. When he implemented this daily practice, his income increased dramatically-by 25 times! Today, John teaches this methodology at the University of Texas' McCombs School of Business and serves as a mental coach for UT's head athletic coaches, helping high performers focus on what truly moves the needle. What if the small "what if?" in your heart is the doorway into mighty possibilities? This week in God Might, Alan invites us to lift our eyes again to the God of the impossible, the One who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine. Through stories of seniors encountering Jesus, students praying in schools, unexpected provision, and dreams becoming reality, we're reminded that God is not just doing something around us — His power is at work within us. As we lean into Heart for the House, this message calls us to see generosity as more than giving to programs. It is a way of sowing into people, worship, mission, and generations to come. Like Ephesians 2 reminds us, we are His handiwork, created for good works He has already prepared for us to walk in. Mighty Possibilities is an invitation to dream with God, respond with faith, and believe again that what feels impossible with man is possible with Him.
