Sermon Outline: "The Throne Is Open for Business: Bold Access in an Unshaken Kingdom" I. John on Patmos: Shift in Perspective (Revelation 4:1–2) The Reality of Hard Places: John went from witnessing Christ's earthly miracles to facing exile, solitary confinement, and hard labour in the rock quarry of Patmos (00:58:10). Looking Up Above Circumstances: In the middle of hard realities, John looked up and saw an open door in heaven. Believers must shift from horizontal focus (earthly struggles) to vertical focus (heavenly throne) (01:00:55, Colossians 3:1–3). An Unshaken & Occupied Throne: The heavenly throne is unmovable, untouchable, and sovereign. God is actively seated on the throne, in total control regardless of world events or personal crises (01:05:33). II. Yom Kippur & The Torn Veil (Hebrews 4:14–16; 10:19–22) The Significance of Yom Kippur: Preached on the exact day of Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement), highlighting the transition from the restrictive Old Covenant tabernacle to the limitless access bought by Christ (01:15:38). Access Granted at Calvary: The Old Covenant veil declared "keep out," but when Jesus died, the veil tore from top to bottom (God reaching down to man), granting permanent, bold access to the Most Holy Place (01:23:09, Matthew 27:50–51). The Superiority of Christ's Blood: Unlike the annual blood of bulls and goats that served as a yearly reminder of sin, Jesus' precious blood washed sin away permanently (01:18:20). III. Approaching the Throne of Grace Mercy vs. Grace: Mercy handles yesterday (what we have done wrong) (01:24:25). Grace meets us today (supplying power for what we cannot handle) (01:24:25). Never Treating the Blood as Common: We treat Christ's blood as common/unholy when we refuse to forgive ourselves, dig up past forgiven sins, or claim our situation is beyond redemption (01:29:47, Hebrews 10:26–29). Examples of Radical Atonement: If God could redeem Mary Magdalene, the Gadarene demoniac, Peter (after his betrayal), and Saul of Tarsus (a murderer), there is no pit or person beyond the reach of Christ's redeeming blood (01:31:33). Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne." (00:56:31) Hebrews 4:14–16 > "Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God... Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth." (01:04:13) Revelation 3:20 > "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him..." (01:02:00) Psalm 103:19 > "The Lord has established His throne in heaven, and His kingdom rules over all." (01:11:11) Revelation 4:11 > "You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created." (01:12:05) Matthew 27:50–51 > "And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom..." (01:23:09) Hebrews 10:18–22 > "Having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh..." (01:19:51) Hebrews 10:29 > "...who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace?"
