This podcast is dedicated to people planning weddings and events. There's a lot to think about and a lot of little details to go over. I'm here to clear some of that up for you!
I've put off doing my podcast because it seemed so trivial to talk about little details of your wedding day when you don't even know if you can have it and what it will look like. Then I realized that means people have more questions than ever because of that, so I reached out to Taylor at Elor Event Planning to help me navigate some of these uncertain areas when it comes to weddings right now.
I've known from the beginning that I wanted to have a wedding planner as a guest on this podcast, but the COVID-19 pandemic that is currently taking place makes it even more timely. Lauren does a great job of laying out how important having that person is to preserving your sanity.
Of all the different events in a wedding reception, this is possibly the part where I get asked for the most help. People simply get stuck when trying to pick a song for their dance with their parents, and some aren't sure if they should do it at all. In this episode I'll list some of the most popular, as well as play some of my favorite options that you may not have thought of.
*Note: In my excitedness (it’s a word now) , I misspoke when talking about the anniversary dance and didn’t catch it. When talking about the “reverse” option, I meant to say the oldest couple leaves FIRST, not last, so they don’t have to stay on the dance floor as long. Carry on.
You're heart's in the right place. You want to raise money for a great cause. Now, where the money is going is almost as important as how you get there. In this episode I share my perspective on what I've seen work, and what you need to think about before your event.
Kiran covers a wide range of topics that are extremely helpful if you are trying to find the right photographer, or looking for some different ideas. Find her at kirankphotography.com or on Instagram at kirank_photography. *Please excuse the audio technical difficulties*
All of the wedding planning websites agree, picking the music for when you walk down the aisle (Processional) is overwhelming and stressful. I'm trying to help with that by offering up 10 suggestions that would be a great fit for that moment.
You know you care about having good music at your wedding reception. Do you want to have someone spinning tunes or a group rocking out? I have shared plenty or reasons to hire a DJ already, so I brought Scott Celani from the Scott Celani Band and The Honeymooners to help you understand what to look for and what makes a good wedding band.
Themes are a really cool, unique way to put your stamp on your day, but how much is too much? What are some things that you should DEFINITELY tell your DJ to make sure things go smoothly? I share some tips and horror stories in this episode that will hopefully help you out.
It's an awkward thing that no one wants to talk about, and some people don't think about, but do you tip your DJ? In this episode I'll lay out 4 things to consider when weighing if you should give them a tip or not.
Requests can make or break a reception. It's probably not something you've thought about too much, so I break down some things to consider before you allow your guests to make requests.
We've all seen or heard about an example of a bad DJ, but what makes a GOOD DJ? I talk to my friend and fellow DJ Rob Murphy about his approach to working an event, and what qualities make him successful.
I purposely do not use company names or list cons because I didn’t want this to turn into a judgement or competition. Both are good. Both have value. I’m going to lay all that out and let you choose what’s better.
Wedding planning can be overwhelming. Once you narrow it down and pick your "team," you have to point them in the right direction. Here are 8 questions that I suggest you ask your DJ to make sure your night is what YOU want!
You have some great Spotify playlists. You're cousin always put together some killer cd mixes. You can never have too much Polka. Whatever the reason you THINK it's a good idea, this episode breaks down why you should not do your own music for your wedding.
