It's a full-on Friday holiday episode of Brock in the Morning, and Jillian makes her radio debut — deer-in-headlights energy and all.The show kicks off with a trending thread on the songs and albums that got people through the year (hello Taylor Swift, Coldplay, Jelly Roll, and Japanese Pancakes), then spirals into peak holiday chaos: HOA battles over a 28-foot inflatable Santa, free weed left near a high school, raccoons falling through restaurant ceilings, and the great white-elephant gift debate (battery organizers, toasters, Squatty Potties, and more).Jillian shares her journey from Missouri State's hospitality program to becoming a full-time wedding planner, how COVID pushed her to start her own business, and what it's really like managing 30+ weddings a year. Plus, engagement news, ballroom-dancing meet-cutes at Crystal Bridges, prom date drama, Christmas trivia, re-gifting etiquette, and why Bombas socks might actually be the perfect gift. It's festive, chaotic, funny, and very Brock in the Morning — the kind of episode that feels like hanging out before Christmas break.

In this week's episode of The Floral CEO Podcast, Jeni digs into one of the most powerful — yet most underutilized — growth strategies in the floral industry: working with wedding planners, corporate planners, and niche event planners. If you aren't intentionally cultivating relationships with planners, you are missing out on major revenue, warm referrals, aligned clients, and the “easy button” that can completely shift the trajectory of your floral business.Jeni breaks down exactly how planners have transformed her own business — including corporate events booked with two weeks' notice, five weddings from a single planner relationship in one season, and hundreds of thousands of dollars in annual revenue directly tied to her planner network. In this episode, you'll learn how planners actually work behind the scenes, the different types of planners florists should be targeting, what content attracts planners, and how to build genuine relationships that lead to consistent bookings. What You'll Learn in This Episode

This week on Two Queens, Two Crowns, we get into Cardi B's big album debut and the messy back-and-forth with Nicki Minaj that lit up social media. We also celebrate Selena Gomez tying the knot with Benny Blanco (and unpack the side-eye from Justin Bieber's posts). Plus, we ponder the trending question: why do the pop charts feel so boring right now, even with big names dropping music? Ever wonder why some planners seem to leap ahead while others grind for years? We unpack the real advantage behind the scenes: a mentor who listens, challenges, and opens doors. From first weddings full of unknowns to high-stakes productions, we walk through the qualities that separate a true guide from a loud voice—proven experience, integrity, generosity with knowledge, strong listening, access to opportunity, and the emotional intelligence to navigate family dynamics and vendor teams with grace. We also draw a clear line between healthy guidance and harmful patterns. If your “mentor” shuts down ideas, never replies, nitpicks without solutions, stacks fees without value, or keeps you small to guard their turf, it's time to walk away. You'll hear practical ways to structure a mentorship—clear goals, regular touchpoints, defined boundaries, and metrics that track progress across sales, operations, and event-day excellence—so advice turns into momentum.Along the way, we celebrate the 50th birthday of CWP Society founder and CEO Laurie Hartwell with moving tributes from educators whose careers she's lifted. Laurie's legacy is more than certifications; it's a culture of community, education, and collaboration that helps planners grow faster and with more heart. If you've felt that tug for a mentor who believes in your potential and a community that has your back, consider this your sign: there's a place built for exactly that.Ready to take the next step? Subscribe, share this with a planner friend who needs encouragement, and leave a review with one takeaway you're going to implement this week. Want mentorship plus a thriving network? "The more thought & intention you put into your wedding plans throughout your engagement, the richer your wedding celebration will be." Do we really need to hire a WEDDING PLANNER / Day of Coodinator? In Part One of today's featured show, we review a list of critical guidelines to keep in mind as you decide whether or not to hire a professional wedding planner. Do you HAVE to hire a professional planner? Spoiler alert - I definitely DO NOT think you have to spend thousands of dollars to hire a professional wedding planner. In Part Two of the show, we sort out some common misconceptions and FAQ's about wedding planners and day of coordinators. When I got married, I wasted a lot of time researching and interviewing planners before I realized that A.) I didn't HAVE to hire anyone, and B.) John and I had all the tools we needed to plan OUR perfect wedding day. And side note, shocker - obviously, none of the wedding planners I interviewed ever mentioned to me, hey by the way, did you know that you could actually just do this on your own? Thankfully I came around to that, but it took lots of wasted effort and stress to get there. Flash forward to today - I literally created the Wedding Planning Podcast so that any engaged couple could tune in and use the episodes and the tools we review in the weekly shows to plan their own wedding - no professional or pricey wedding planner required. Some alternatives? Try checking out the sites we mentioned in today's show, including your local Craigslist postings, Thumbtack.com, taskrabbit.com and fiverr.com I also know that there are countless wonderful wedding planning professionals out there, and for some couples it's a really smart investment … and we'll get into all of that that much more in today's show. Click here for the full blog post from today's show. Click here to submit your wedding questions or future show topic requests. Thank you for your support of the Wedding Planning Podcast, and we'll talk soon! Cheers, Kara
