This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, happy Monday!! The headline: we FINALLY did some wedding planning (live on the pod..) and we think we may have unlocked something?! You guys know we've been kicking this can down the road (2 under 2 - FORGIVE US), but one little scheduling switch changed everything (iykyk) and now we're officially in planning mode (send us your ATX dueling piano wedding reviews!!) Before all that: the BEST fantasy football punishment we've ever seen (18 holes of golf with strangers.. no clubs, no ball, full commitment to every pretend swing hahaha), Harrison's cooking redemption arc (Alex used to WINCE from across the kitchen.. now he cleans as he goes?!), and an etiquette check from Jules: do you need a hostess gift for a baby shower at someone's house? Plus a question back to Jules: should you serve alcohol at your wedding if YOU don't drink?! (the short answer: it depends). Then a Babylist It Forward follow up: we bought your gifts!! Thank you for sharing your registries with us, this was genuinely so fun

What if the easiest way to reduce wedding planning stress wasn't another checklist, but one conversation?Actually...seven conversations. After planning hundreds of weddings, I've noticed something: the couples who seem the most confident and organized aren't necessarily doing more. They simply take the time to have a few important conversations before they start making hundreds of wedding decisions. In this episode, I'm sharing the seven conversations I wish every engaged couple would have before booking vendors, setting a budget, or falling down the Pinterest rabbit hole. We'll talk about:• Who you're really planning your wedding for• How to identify your biggest wedding priorities• Why guest count is one of the most important decisions you'll make• How to define the feeling you want your wedding day to have• How to make budget decisions before emotions take over• Creating wedding planning non-negotiables together• Building a decision-making system that makes planning easierThese conversations don't just make wedding planning less stressful, they help you make faster decisions, stay closer to your budget, and spend less time second-guessing yourself.Looking for more step-by-step wedding planning support? The Wedding Planning Blueprint gives you expert guidance, planning templates, budget tools, and live support so you'll always know what to do next.Learn more at PlanningCollective.comIf this episode helped you, I'd love it if you could rate, review, and subscribe. It's a stage almost every couple reaches, and it's one of the biggest reasons wedding planning starts to feel overwhelming.I'll explain why this happens, what I call the Wedding Planning Spiral, and share a simple 30-minute reset that can help you feel organized, confident, and back in control. In this episode, we'll cover:• Why wedding planning suddenly feels so much harder halfway through planning• How decision fatigue affects your wedding planning progress• The three biggest signs you're stuck in the Wedding Planning Spiral• Why doing more research usually makes overwhelm worse• A simple 30-minute exercise to help you refocus and know exactly what to do nextIf you've been wondering whether you're behind, second-guessing every decision, or feeling like you're constantly thinking about your wedding without making progress, this episode is for you.Want even more support? The Wedding Planning Blueprint gives you step-by-step guidance, planning templates, budget tools, and live support so you always know what to do next.Learn more at PlanningCollective.comIf this episode gave you even one helpful tip, I'd love it if you could rate, review, and subscribe. A woman writes in saying her future mother-in-law has taken over her wedding — picking venues, guest lists, and colors — while her fiancé just freezes up. On top of that, his sister doesn't like her for no reason. Marcus and Jessica break it all down: why the son is really to blame, how to set boundaries without blowing things up, and what happens when parents can't let go of their kids. The talk goes deep into controlling parents, family loyalty, and knowing your place.Follow @trulyunruly_podcast

Can you build word of mouth on purpose? Few people are better equipped to answer it than Sarah Neely. She's spent two decades engineering the conversations most brands just hope will happen by accident, and she's now the founder of SignalSwell, built to make human word of mouth "audible" to AI. She also leads client strategy at Fizz, one of the few agencies built entirely around getting people to talk. Her premise runs against everything a virality-obsessed business wants to believe: advocates are a personality type you can plan for, and the right story dropped in the right place does the rest. In this episode of The Trending Communicator, host Dan Nestle and Sarah dig into what "story" actually means at the level of a single human conversation, the shorthand one person uses to describe you to someone else. They get into why a cactus at a wedding travels further than a logo, how Red Bull carries the same story from an F1 helmet to a truck stop, and the SHARE framework Sarah uses to build experiences worth repeating. Then the conversation turns to AI. If the machines increasingly decide which conversations get surfaced, communicators have to make human word of mouth visible to them, on the channels that actually feed the models. It's a practical problem with a strange philosophical center. Maybe human conversation isn't competing with AI at all. Maybe it's the operating system AI runs on. Listen in and hear about... Why word of mouth can be engineered on purpose, and why "organic" is a misleading word for it The SHARE framework for creating experiences worth talking about What "story" means at the level of a single human conversation, versus a mission statement or value prop Making human conversations discoverable to AI, and which channels actually feed the LLMs Why human conversation may be the operating system AI depends on to stay relevant Notable Quotes from Sarah Neely "The story is that sort of shorthand way that one person would describe a product, a brand, an experience to another person." - Sarah Neely "If you take all the colors that are in your paint kit, you're going to make something that's brown or gray. It has nothing interesting to look at. Morgan & Morgan couldn't be more opposite, and that's why this works!! They're talking wedding planning, a new relationship, the pressure to have kids or not have kids, women constantly having to explain their choices and some HOT TAKES on the popular TV show Off Campus. Oh and Morgan got real hangry and threw a sandwich.
The wedding industry is really good at making capable planners feel like they're not enough. In this solo episode, Master Certified Wedding Planner & Senior Educator, Krisy Thomas, addresses something most planners feel but rarely say out loud: the gap between where you are and where you think you should be. That gap is often created by comparison — polished highlight reels on Instagram, Pinterest, and TikTok that represent someone else's years of repetition, refined systems, and hard-earned vendor relationships. When you're measuring your current process against someone else's final result, it's easy to lose sight of the work that actually builds a career.Krisy gets honest about what happens when aesthetics start driving decisions instead of client experience, why mistakes don't mean you're not cut out for this, and the difference between grace and avoidance when something goes wrong. She also challenges the industry's narrow definition of success — and makes the case that the only version worth building is the one aligned with your actual values, goals, and life. From how you handle a difficult moment on a wedding day to how you define growth on your own terms, this episode is a reset for planners who are doing the real work and still wondering if it's enough. It is. And this conversation will help you see why.Visit CWPSociety.com to learn more about certification and professional membership for wedding planners.www.cwpsociety.com | info@cwpsociety.com | IG: @cwpsociety | FB: @cwpsociety

Brock and Jon welcome Hayley from Heirloom Event Company to the IDOIQ Podcast for a fun, honest, and insight-packed conversation about weddings, planning, vendor teamwork, and what makes a wedding actually feel personal. The episode kicks off with wild wedding speech stories, including a bride's dad who found the perfect way to shut down an endless lineup of groom-family speeches. Hayley shares one of her own early wedding horror stories involving a father-of-the-bride speech that lasted 52 minutes, proving once again that sometimes the most important wedding planning skill is knowing when to move things along.Hayley talks about growing up around Branson, moving through the TV and production world in Los Angeles and Chicago, and eventually finding her way into weddings. What started as a desire to bring people together through monthly events turned into planning weddings, building a team, and creating Heirloom Event Company, a brand focused on meaningful, timeless, and highly personal events. The conversation digs into what makes Heirloom different, including Hayley's commitment to radical transparency with couples. She talks about educating clients on real wedding costs, being honest about venues and vendors, helping couples avoid budget surprises, and making sure they understand what they are actually paying for. Brock, Jon, and Hayley also compare notes on how DJs and planners work together behind the scenes to keep a wedding flowing smoothly. They also cover the reality of wedding timelines, why couples should not overbook the dance floor, how late-night snacks can become an experience, and why great events are moving beyond “standard wedding” into something more interactive. From oyster shucking and Chicago dogs to mariachi bands, saxophonists, custom wedding merch, trucker hats, and branded cowboy hats, Hayley shares trends that are already popular in larger cities and may be heading toward Northwest Arkansas. The episode also includes plenty of classic IDOIQ humor, including strange wedding venues, tarped fences, cow-pie DJ setups, stripper pole surprise receptions, sword cake-cuttings, black-tie weddings with beer pong, Branson memories, Silver Dollar City talk, and the difference between big-city wedding expectations and Ozarks wedding culture.Hayley also shares what she hopes couples feel when they look back on their wedding: that they were truly able to enjoy the day instead of managing it. She emphasizes personal details, family memories, labeled memorial tables, recipes, heirlooms, and meaningful touches that help guests understand the couple's story. It is a great episode for couples planning a wedding, vendors who want better teamwork, and anyone curious about where Northwest Arkansas weddings may be headed next.

Are you preparing for birth… or just planning a wedding-level event? In this powerful and eye-opening conversation, Debra Pascali-Bonaro is joined by Nina Spears, founder of Baby Chick, to explore why so many families spend hundreds of hours planning weddings—but only a fraction of that preparing for birth and postpartum. Together, they dive into what actually creates a positive, empowered, and even pleasurable birth experience—and why preparation, support, and informed choices are everything. Nina shares insights from supporting over 800 families and attending 350+ births, along with her own deeply personal birth experiences, including how knowledge shaped her decisions and outcomes. This episode is a call to rethink how we prepare for one of life's most transformative experiences. In this episode, you'll hear: Why pregnancy is the true preparation for motherhood—not just baby How safety in the body influences oxytocin, endorphins, and birth outcomes The critical role of partners as advocates and support systems How to choose the right care team for you Why birth plans should be created together—not alone The importance of preparing for postpartum (not just birth) What it really means to have an "orgasmic birth" experience Key takeaway: When a woman feels safe, supported, respected, and prepared—her body can open. And that's where powerful, transformative birth experiences begin. "When are you getting married?" It's the question Georgie Tunny and Rob Mills get asked more than any other. Closely followed by: "What about babies?" After seven years together and four years engaged, the couple sit down with Kate Langbroek to talk about the future they're building together, why they're in no rush to follow anyone else's timeline, and the DM that started it all. From Georgie leaving Rob on read for months to the first coffee date that changed everything, this conversation is full of the stories you've probably never heard before. They talk about ambition, career setbacks, long engagements, mental health, life in the spotlight, Georgie's debut novel Over To You, Rob's dream role in Waitress, and why the Paris Hilton chapter of his life is one they're both quite happy to laugh about now. Mostly, though, this feels less like an interview and more like sitting at a table with three friends catching up on all the gossip. Georgie Tunny's debut novel, Over To You is available now. Look, we're LOCKING in and officially planning THE wedding!! Now let's be clear, there's NO Pinterest board, NO color palette, and NOOO venue in mind, BUT we're looping Adina into all the planning calls and she's VERY fired up (hellooo MOMager). While she's working on the cohesive (NOT redundant) theme, Brooke is (knock) knee-deep in bridal glow-up research. The rest of 2026 is solid core,10k steps a day, and red light therapy EVERY night!! We're taking this VERY seriously. While it's currently the wild west of wedding planning for the Miccios, Danielle is navigating the wild WILD west of the airport annnnnnd the lazy river cults!?
