We are in the final week of our 21 Worship Challenge to build the habit of beginning our mornings with God to receive direction and guidance. Starting our day this way can be the most powerful step in receiving a download of details and discernment that will directly impact our business.
We are in the second week of our 21 Days of Worship Challenge, as we spend time in the presence of God to hear His direction on how we should move and act in our businesses on both a macro and micro level. And I share about the two elements of worship - celebration and declaration.
Welcome to season 2 of GOD is CEO podcast! As we step into the will of God for our lives and our businesses for this New Year it's important that we tap into His presence and power. For the next 3 weeks, we're focusing on worship as our secret strategy to unlock movement, growth, and abundance as entrepreneurs. Join me as we continue to make God CEO!
Before we close the book on 2020 to never be remembered or mentioned again, let's take a moment to recognize the blessings and lessons that it gifted us with. We may need to dig to find the positive from the last 365 days, but I've got some ideas on how we can make an account of how God moved the year and how we can move into our new chapter with purpose.
It's going to take a lot more than a simple calendar date change to make next year any different. Many of us are hoping that as we cross over into a New Year all of our problems, fear and frustrations will go away. That's definitely not the case. But we do have the opportunity to create a few mindset shifts that can cause the change we want to see if 2021. Here are my top five favorites!
Some of us have received a download, a recipe or instruction so detailed and specific from God on how to move forward in a situation, how to create something, exactly how to launch our next business or product. But because we can't clearly see the outcome we start to do things our own way, failing to follow the recipe. Been there, done that!
My family and I were finally able to hold a memorial for our father and the topic of "legacy" kept coming up. Not in the financial sense as my father didn't leave us any money or traditional inheritance to speak of. But what he left behind I could argue is even more valuable...A legacy of faith. He also left behind some artifacts that exemplify his life's work. What type of legacy are you building for future generations? And will they be left with artifacts of your existence on this earth? Things that make you go hmm...
We are yearning for reassurance, guidance, and hope. We are longing for comfort and safety. We are drawn towards things that we can turn into rituals to provide structure or normalcy - something we can see, can hold, and can touch. But card and palm readings, and crystals are taking the place of God. Let's talk about it!
Fear can confuse and paralyze, causing us to get stuck and stagnant when it comes to moving forward in our lives and business. As we break down the construct of fear and understand that overcoming it requires a simple reframing, we can leverage and lean on the Word of God (and a few parenting analogies - my favorite) to overcome and win!
Listen for a moment while I teach/preach! I'm so passionate about branding and marketing and the topic of discovering a specific target audience and narrowing down your niche. I'm sharing all the goods on why niching down is imperative to your business's success (lean in and whisper sweet nothings) and how to pull on the Holy Spirit to guide your path and focus.
Stay encouraged as we are well into the 2nd half of this year and approach the final quarter. We’ve all gone through a lot this year and it’s easy to become discouraged, depressed, heavy-hearted, and even jaded...looking at everything through the lens of despair and negativity. Well, I’m encouraging you to take off the lenses coated with dirt. Put on your spiritual googles.
This episode is for the entrepreneurial believer that is worried about money and making ends meet. We hear people say "don't stress" and "give it to God" all the time. But it's so much easier said than done. How do we really allow God to step into our businesses and finances to ease the stress of money?
As entrepreneurial parents, we are raising kids and businesses at the same time. Two of the hardest things I’ve done (in addition to marriage). All are also the most rewarding. It’s where we leave our legacy. Our kids are watching and listening. Let's teach them a little somethin' somethin' along the way about life, purpose, success, and faith.
We can't cheat death, but we can secure eternity. We've all experienced loss this year. With so much uncertainty in the world, we can be sure about one thing...we will die one day. When that day comes will we be prepared?
We're wrapping up 6 simple (but not always easy) ways you can begin to infuse a little faith into the ways you run and operate your small business. As entrepreneurs, we have the opportunity to blend our beliefs and business - both internally and externally with our brand.
Let's talk about faith baby, let's talk about you and me (for you early 90s kids), let's talk about 6 simple (but not always easy) ways you can begin to infuse a little faith into the ways you run and operate your small business. As entrepreneurs, we have the opportunity to blend our beliefs and business. Let's go!
We were each created for a purpose and placed here for a reason. The best way to understand why something was created is to look to its creator. Genius right? The keys and clues to understanding your purpose can be found in the unique DNA that was placed inside of you. We can also learn this from looking at fish...the barracuda to be exact.
When I was newer in my career and green at juggling life, work, and family, I truly thought I could have it all and do it all. "I can do all things through Christ" right? But the weight of the incredible expectation I put on myself to do and have and juggle all the things broke me. And I was devastated when it all came crashing down. Let's throw out the concept of work-life balance and begin to flow in God's favor with the understanding that while we can do all things with Him, He hasn't called us to do all things.
I’ve been thinking about the topic of money a lot lately. Because we are in a concerning economy right now and mostly because I’m amazed at how the ebb and flow of being an entrepreneur can drive and impair the emotions. With regard to finances and revenue, the roller coaster ride is a trip. And the notion of feast or famine is real. With all of the ups and downs, God always has a way of coming through. It may be at the last minute, but hey, I can’t complain. I want to encourage you to hang in there and know that God has some amazing blessings coming your way. Here are 10 scriptures to everyone should know about money.
We've heard the word "pivot" more times than we can count during this shift in our world and in our current economy. For all of us, it means uncertainty. For entrepreneurs, uncertainty can feel even greater. It can turn to anxiety and stress. In uncertain times, we must put our hope and trust in God more now more than ever. This involves redefining the pivot for our lives and businesses and promoting God to CEO.
The seeds you've planted in the past haven't been forgotten. They will bear fruit in due time. Just like the parable of the barren fig tree, where the farmer begs for another 3 years to work with the tree before it's cut down. The seeds I planted 3 years ago are showing up in a big way today! This podcast is joining a national radio station! And 3 years ago I wrote The Entrepreneur's Prayer. It was meant for you to hear it today...
Don’t throw away the vision board you worked so hard on. God had a plan then and He has one now. The chances of that plan that He gave you completely changing are pretty slim. He knows all things so don’t give up hope. Don’t throw up your hands. Now’s the time to get curious, ask the question “God, now that we’re in the predicament we’re in, how did you see the vision you gave me playing out?” Your 2020 vision is still valid.
Who needs some encouragement? Exactly a year ago, I gave my first TEDx Talk redefining failure as a requirement or prerequisite for success. In this episode, you'll hear my argument that without public failure, success is impossible. My talk uncovers how the humiliation of public failure brings about a public cognizance that creates momentum and drives success. Through this awareness, two things happen - 1. Our allies and cheerleaders are identified to aid and support. 2. The weight of the failure adds to the magnitude of the eventual achievement.
Worry comes with the job description of an entrepreneur, business owner, mom and spouse. But with that worry comes some detrimental emotional, spiritual and physical side effects. Dance is my way of giving my cares over to God. And the worship experience looks different for each of us, whether it's singing in the shower, jamming to Kanye West's latest album or being still in meditation. Stay to the end for a giveaway!
We are living in uncertain times, but one thing is certain - God remains in control. And holds the answers to how we shift and pivot our businesses. There are great examples of how pivots are quickly happening including DJ D-NICE, Justin Bieber, Zoom, Google Hangouts and more. But spending time in meditation and pray will unlock what a shift and pivot should look like for you.
