Hearts For Jesus

Pastor Perry and Garrett share stories about letting go of past battles and experiencing healing from Jesus.They also discuss how to begin to let go of past battles and move forward with freedom from the pain. Are you feeling weighed down? Experts across many fields are agreeing that IQ (Intelligence Quotient) is no longer the best test to predict a person's future success, but rather their EQ (Emotional Quotient) the Bible says that we are made in God's image and God is a relational being. God wants to nurture and develop our EQ. Our EQ measures our emotional and relational health. We need a strong EQ to fulfill The Great Commandment! "Love the Lord your God with all your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22: 37-39How we treat our own heart is how we'll treat the hearts of our neighbors. If you love others like you love yourself would you be a good neighbor? We pursue God and learn His heart for us and how He loves us. He teaches us how to love ourselves and be kind to ourselves. That love will spill over into how we treat others. 

Do you ever find yourself trying to push back the pain of your heart just to go about your normal daily activities? In this episode, I tell a story of a time when my heart was in so much pain that I even lost passion for my business. All I could do was go through the motions and hope for a better life after death. Then I learned that Jesus refuses to leave me in that beat up and crippled state. I brought all of my pain and woundedness to him and pressed into his healing with everything I had. Listen to this episode for encouragement to seek healing from Jesus and to find out how my pain and healing actually led to miraculous business success! 

Jesus has battled for your heart because he wants to heal and restore you.  Have you ever thought something like this, "I just can't wait to get to heaven where there will be no more pain."  We certainly have. But Jesus is so good and so remarkable that he walked through the minefield and battled for our hearts so he can bring us healing now.  There's so much healing and restoration available for you! So go deep with Jesus! Dive into the adventure of intimacy with Jesus. Don't stay on the surface of life with Jesus.  Continue to go deep in the healing life that Jesus offers. Your healing, liberation, restoration, and freedom happens now.

This past Sunday we celebrated Father's Day! Are you feeling stressed and just flat out busy? No one would blame you! Especially during this time of going back to work and trying to catch up after a shut down and at the same time preparing for an unknown future of possibly being shut down again. Garrett reminds us that we don't want to allow the busyness to distract us from what's really important. Let's learn from Martha who was so busy and distracted that she wasn't hearing Jesus as he taught right in front of her in her house. Garrett uses two biblical examples to help us understand how to navigate the busyness while not missing what's really important in life.  

You belong to the creator of all the universe, the most high God. He has formed you, redeemed you, and called you by name. You are His. This means that you are free from the bondage of fear, depression, anxiety, disease, sin, addiction...The question is, How do I start living as a child of God who is free from the bondage I've been living in?That's the question we discuss in this episode. Pastor Perry provides practical steps to begin relocating yourself from the bondage you're under to the freedom and restoration Jesus has bought for you. We have a challenge for you! Declare in the comments what you are not a slave to. For example: I am a child of God and I am not a slave to _______.  Isaiah 43:1 But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.  

Last week we celebrated Memorial Day in remembrance of all the people who have fought and died for our freedom. This raised a question for me as I studied Matthew 5:39. Jesus says that getting even is not the way to follow Him, but instead "turn the other cheek." This made me wonder, how do I know when to turn the other cheek (and what does that really mean) and when to take a stand like those who fought for our country.  In this episode, Pastor Perry sheds light to this question and offers some great insight on this topic!
