Summary In this sermon, Pastor Perry discusses the global harvest of souls that is growing exponentially and the reluctance of the church to respond to God's call. Through various examples, he illustrates the importance of being willing to go and share the gospel, highlighting the dire need for missionaries in untouched regions. Chapters 00:00 Introduction to the Missionary Call05:55 The Plea for Laborers12:09 The Global Harvest and Its Urgency17:51 Reluctance in the Church24:06 Responding to the Call29:52 Conclusion and Call to ActionTakeaways What are you going to do with life between now and whenever? The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Every generation has been given a missionary calling. The global population is growing, and so is the need for evangelism. We must be global Christians with a global vision. Hearing the voice of the Lord is not enough; we must be willing to go. The church's reluctance to respond to the call is tragic. The gospel is only good news if it gets there in time. We have a responsibility to reach the lost. Can God ask you for your best? Sound Bites "What are you going to do with life?" "The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few." "Can God send out those who are unwilling to go?" On this episode of On Mission, Dr. Matt Davis speaks with Pastor Ron Perry of Faith Baptist Church in Folsom, California. Pastor Perry shares poignant life lessons from his experience as a pastor, police chaplain, husband, and father. One key he shared is the involvement of his wife and their entire family in church ministry. Pastor Perry shares his unique gifting of relational shepherding, and how it has played a large role in how he and his family experience the burdens and joys of ministry. Pastor Perry discusses his “seasonal” approach to living on mission, detailing what it looks like to "Put your Yes on the table for the Lord” and keep it there. Saying Yes represents the idea of surrendering to God's will, trusting in God's character—His goodness, love, and sovereignty—even before knowing the specifics of what He wants. As trust deepens with God, it gets easier to fully surrender; and the better we know God, the simpler it becomes to trust Him with our decisions.
