A BIG GOD LIVING IN A FRAIL ME! Hey guys it’s your favourite boy Angeloh with a quick musing about Christ in me. It’s so amazing How God chooses to live inside of me, renovating me from within —while living in my heart. Most of us would rather finish the renovation or upgrades required before moving into mew homes or apartments; but God.... #itsangeloh #jesus&CommonSense #podcast #instavlog #instareels #jesus #christ
With all the uncertainty that has been cramped into 2020 thus far, how has the body of Christ and every-day Christians responded to the situation? How have we responded to crisis and new discoveries in history? How should we position ourselves to respond appropriately to and embrace changes where necessary? How can we use our responses to proactively move in the present and near future to add immense value to the world as a body and as a people? These and more will be explored in today's episode. Righteousness in Christ makes us strong — Not in ourselves, but in the covering of God. So, in the face of trouble, or in need of rest after a long “day”, never become too self-focused that you’d rather stand in an open field than to run into your strong tower. In this 2-part series, we take a semi deep-dive into the idea of Christians (especially Creatives) choosing to reach or win souls or effect kingdom change in society by camouflaging their faith rather than being overt. In this episode, we conclude the series from the previous conversation where we take a semi deep-dive into the idea of Christians (especially Creatives) choosing to reach or win souls or effect kingdom change in society by camouflaging their faith rather than being overt. Jesus didn’t influence Culture by being like the culture. Yes He sat with thieves drunkards and whore mongers; but He did not move, talk or think like them. How does Jesus' example serve as a guide for Christian Influencers, Creatives, and culture architects in our time. This brief episode focuses on how important it is to hold fast to our testimonies of God's power and favour over us in times past, as an anchor for trusting God for today and regarding our hopes for the future. “The day we believed in a saviour, born by a virgin who was impregnated by a ghost that is said to be the spirit of God, is the day you discarded your common sense — as far as the “logical” world is concerned.” The call to be “unashamed” of the Gospel, is an obvious hint that there is a form of shame actively projected your way for standing with the message of Christ. Regarding the Gospel, what does it mean to be unashamed? Why should we be unashamed? How does being unashamed look like in our time? We take a brief look into these issues in this episode. The day we believed in a saviour, born by a virgin who was impregnated by a ghost that is said to be the spirit of God, is the day you discarded your common sense — as far as the “logical” world is concerned. We are witnessing a new wave of outcry for fellowship with God most high in our generation. Yet, it has become apparent that we have continually try to “normalize” our “crazy” aka faith. This episode sets out to find out why? Feel free to share with your friends and to hit me up on Instagram and Twitter on @itsangeloh I’d love to hear from you.
JxCS 0017. “COV-ered.” As the world weathers the Covid-19 virus storm, it is essential for all children of light to stay covered in mind, heart, hygiene, Christ’s blood and a bucket load of love and empathy this season. We are covered. Feel free to share with your friends and to hit me up on Instagram and Twitter on @itsangeloh I’d love to hear from you.
JxCS 0016. Abase & Abound in the New Decade It's a new year with continued goals from 2019 or new milestones to pursue. All in all, we need various forms of resources and graces to help us pull though in every area of our lives. This need often drives us into the rat race and every motion of anxiety it brings, thereby fighting for our attention and time that we could be redeeming by pursuing destiny. Paul said he had been given the secret to live (be content and stay driven) during times of plenty or times of need - to abase and to abound. This secret comes with a deep seated belief and knowing of Life in Christ and what that means for us. Walk with me. Feel free to share with your friends and to hit me up on Instagram and Twitter on @itsangeloh I’d love to hear from you.
JxCS 0015. NO SUCH THING AS BAD FRIENDS You could have bad company; but never bad friends. We often confuse company or acquaintances for friends and thereby make sloppy, sentimental judgements in discernment. But are you yourself worthy of being called “friend”? Who are your friends? What is your clique like? Do you just meet people and tag along or do you deliberately choose them? These questions and more are key to double checking your friendship situation. The disciples tried to deliver a demon-oppressed boy but failed. They didn’t attempt to explain the lack of performance; neither did they conclude that Christ’s power and Word does not work; nor did they give up on the faith altogether. THEY WENT BACK TO HIM TO FIND OUT WHY and Christ gave them the insight they needed. So I wrap up this series regarding my desires in my faith pursuit by praying according to Ephesians 1:16 downwards: “Give me your Spirit of wisdom and revelation that I may know...” Feel free to share with your friends and to hit me up on Instagram @itsangeloh I’d love to hear from you.
In this episode I focus on my desire for the manifest power of Christ through me. I want my life to be one of signs and wonders — not of empty Christian philosophy and speech. And my desire is not out of place. Jesus literally said “THESE SIGNS [tongues, casting out of devils, healing the sick, and preservation from poisonous attacks and substances] SHALL FOLLOW THEM WHO BELIEVE IN HIM...” I’m not going to settle for less. I’m going to Him till it pops! This is not the end of the trip. If you feel as I do, stick with me some more. Bless. In my pursuit of knowing God, I desire two things: discipline, and power. In this episode I focus on discipline. The Word of God is pretty straightforward about its take on the topic and I, for one, want to walk the walk IN DEED and not just in affirmation. I want my conduct (and not just my confessions of faith and grace) to exemplify that of Christ. I want to be led by the Spirit so I no longer gratify the lust of my flesh. This is the first part of about 3 or 4. If you feel as I do, stick with me then. Enjoy Feel free to share with your friends and to hit me up on Instagram @itsangeloh I’d love to hear from you.
From concerts to prayer meet-ups, intimate sessions to all-out parties; I dare say that #Summer19 for the Urban Christian Community in Lagos, Nigeria has been too much of a vibe. In this episode I give a brief run down to @BelieversBond the epic event that signed off the summer for us. I also leave some much-needed encouragement for us to embrace our faith with all its freedoms AND constraints, wearing them like badges of honour. Enjoy Feel free to share with your friends and to hit me up on Instagram @itsangeloh I’d love to hear from you.
On this episode of Jesus x Common Sense I take a pseudo poetic walk back to my child hood years. I breeze through faint moments of love between I and my late mum, over the back drop of 90’s life life and paraphernalia in Mainland Lagos, Nigeria. In the end, its a fling back; as well as an expression of desire to return to a childlike posture in my heart, and towards the Father. God wants to bring us into a place of rest and abundance. But we often need troubles to drive us back to His feet, when comfort makes our hearts run cold. What if the true purpose of discipline in Christ, is for us to become mature in fostering our intimacy with God in and out of season, as well as furnish our character? From ARAMANDA TOUR to THE YOUNG ALSO PRAY, and to much needed spontaneous retreats; a lot of work has been going on in the background, with me playing back stage and on stage roles lately. When You’re on the Table You’re breaking. IF HE/SHE TOLD YOU THEY HAD HIV, WILL YOU STILL TAP THAT BOOTY? Maybe the problem a lot of us have with keeping clear of sinful habits and bad behaviour is because we aren’t really aware of how much we may potentially be trading for such behaviour and actions. On the flip side, maybe it’s easier to cling to sinful actions and habits because we can’t really see or don’t really understand the joy that awaits on the other side of enduring discipline and training in holiness. Discipline is not abuse and “Leg Day” is a liar. In this episode I continue from where I left off in the last episode, airing my thoughts on the argument of to spare the proverbial rod or not as well as inside stories on my leg day drama in the hopes of summer body building goals. With New Testament writings, I go on to establish the need for taking on training in discipline, and enduring its accompanying hardship (as we would endure post workout aches) so as to grow up in holiness and godly character. “From Crux to African Upbringing” Continuing from where we left off in the last episode, I set out with the core biblical context for my thoughts today, sprinkled all over with some typical African-Parent child-raising scenarios; as well as back stories of my days of much needed “factory reset”. The plot thickens. Feel free to hit me up on Instagram @itsangeloh I’d love to hear from you.
Went on a small break but back and better. In this series, we will be looking at the the benefits of living a disciplined life, as well as a call for believers to endure the hardships that result from our training in discipline by God. Several writers of the New Testament reiterate that we “Make every effort”... if holiness and discipline were resistance free, we wouldn’t have a need to “make every effort.” // Feel free to hit me up on Instagram @itsangeloh I’d love to hear from you.
This episode focuses on the dissatisfaction resulting from self-separation — either by poor knowledge of your stand of righteousness, or a bashing on your conscience due to prolonged wrong behaviour — which fosters guilt. Jesus taught us to pray “Our Father in heaven... forgive us our trespasses.” The apostle Paul encouraged that we “repent and turn to God that our sins (misdeeds) may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” Is disbelief, wrong behaviour or anxiety holding you back from drinking from the fountain of life? Remember that nothing can separate us from the Love of God. Don’t stay away; confess it all to Him, that refreshment for your soul May be poured out by his Grace. Obey Your Thirst and Pursue Living Water. // Feel free to hit me up on Instagram @itsangeloh I’d love to hear from you.
If you have big dreams and you believe in yourself so much that you burst out hardcore levels of work, enduring all manner of lobbying and things you’ll rather live without just so you can achieve those dreams, I take God beg you: LEARN TO COMMUNICATE. Enjoy. // Feel free to hit me up on Instagram @itsangeloh I’d love to hear from you.
On this episode of Jesus x Common Sense I go a bit into the back story of the start of this podcast. Many fears plague the birth of a idea and most times, they require us to fit our approach into prescribed formulas for success —which could be statistically correct. But it’s important that we stay true to ourselves, selectively taking what is useful while being sure not to lose our essence because that’s what makes us unique! Know Thyself and Be Thyself! Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy. // Feel free to hit me up on Instagram @itsangeloh I’d love to hear from you.
