In this message, Francis Chan invites us to slow down, pray, and truly believe that God Himself is with us, right here, right now. Teaching from Ephesians 1, Francis explores Paul's prayer that “the eyes of your heart may be enlightened,” revealing how deeply God loves His people and how much He longs for us to live in the fullness of His power and grace. Francis shares his own journey from insecurity and striving into a confident rest in God's love. He reminds us that we are God's glorious inheritance—His beloved bride—and that His immeasurable power is available to all who believe. This episode reflects the heart behind Francis' newest book, "Beloved", an invitation to move from working for God's love to living from it.

This Sunday, Pastor Suzy Silk continued our “Making Sense of Church” Series by calling us to take up our roles as priests in the Kingdom of God. Like the priesthood of ancient Israel, we are called to stand apart in the world as examples of God's holy love and goodness. As priests under the New Covenant, we should be living in such a way that compels people to ask questions, and actively join Jesus in expanding the priesthood by sharing about God's story and His Kingdom to people who do not yet know Him.

A Prayer for When You Feel Like Your Prayers Aren't Being Answered Have you ever prayed for something and felt like God wasn't answering? Today's episode by Nicolet Bell takes us through the words of Psalm 34. We are reminded that God always hears our prayers—though not always in the way we expect. True prayer draws us closer to the heart of God, shifting our focus from seeking the gift to desiring the Giver. Reference: Psalm 34:4 Prayer: Father, help me to believe that you hear and respond to my prayers. Help me to trust in your character even when life doesn’t go the way I want or expect. The apostles of Jesus Christ show us what it looks like to suffer with joy for faithfulness to Christ. The work of the Holy Spirit in their lives shows us how we come to love Christ so deeply that we are honored to be dishonored with him. These last days call for faithfulness to Christ, and the Holy Spirit provides the strength. Grace Community Church exists to build spiritually healthy people for ministry in the world. One of the ways that we pursue this mission is by gathering each Sunday for corporate worship, prayer, and biblical teaching. The corporate nature of this gathering is both edifying to the believer and a witness of God's grace to the world. Sermon speaker is Scott Patty unless otherwise noted.
Jesus' Death and Resurrection Tore the Veil that Stood Between You and a Personal Relationship with God MESSAGE SUMMARY: With the “Veil torn”, Jesus wants your life-focus to be on following Him -- your life should be about impressing Him and not others. Jesus assumes that Jesus Followers will practice the piety of giving, praying, and fasting; therefore, they will do things in the right way and with the right motives. To this end in Matthew 6:16-18, Jesus instructed the Apostles in fasting: “And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.". Therefore, your worship and prayers should be about growing and deepening your personal relationship with God and not in consideration of others and their impressions of you. One of Pastor Jay’s most important messages: there are always people who don’t get along, and Christians are no exception—like Euodia and Syntyche. But with Christians, there’s a cure—one the devil wants us to forget. It’s time we remembered—because the Christian joy is also found there…
This week's scripture:Psalm 84v1-6Luke 6v27-38This week Adam digs into the question, what if we're accountable for taking the risks God calls us to take?
Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things. 2 We know that the judgment of God rightly falls on those who practice such things. 3 Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God? 4 Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? 5 But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God's righteous judgment will be revealed.6 He will render to each one according to his works: 7 to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; 8 but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury. 9 There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek, 10 but glory and honor and peace for everyone who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek. 11 For God shows no partiality.12 For all who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law. 13 For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified. 14 For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them 16 on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus.1. What do you find yourself condemning other people for? Do you ever do that, or something similar?2. When you find yourself doing or saying something you condemn in other people, how do you respond?3. Do you agree with Paul that everyone has a basic morality written on their hearts? What does that mean for the average person, Christian or Non-Christian?4. What are you go-to excuses for yourself, why the rules don't fully apply to you in a particular situation?5. In what situations or to which people do you have trouble apologizing?6. Does Jesus becoming weak and vulnerable for you make it easier to repent to him and others? 7. Do you ever find yourself thinking or acting like God grades on a curve? Why is it important that God is impartial?

Every family has a culture—an atmosphere shaped by what they value and how they live. In Romans 12, Paul paints a picture of what the culture of God's family is meant to look like. It's not defined by the world's standards, but by the mercy of God that has transformed our lives. As followers of Jesus, we are called to live differently—with humility, service, love, and grace. The culture of God's family is a culture of transformation from the inside out, where renewed hearts create a renewed community that reflects the character of Christ to the world around us. Money is always talking, whispering that we don't have enough, pushing us to chase more, or shaming us for falling behind. Whether we're rich or broke, it can easily become our master. But Jesus calls us to something greater: to store up treasures in heaven, where our giving directs our hearts toward what lasts forever. When we put money on mission, as Paul describes in 2 Corinthians 9, our generosity not only meets needs but multiplies gratitude to God and transforms us as givers. The question we each must answer is this: Does money have me, or does God? Passage: Matthew 6:19-24; 2 Corinthians 9:6-11 Speaker: Kevin Stiles

In his sermon "Lord of My (Our) Friendships," Pastor Rodney emphasized that God designed us for relationship—first with Him, then with others. He explained that the enemy seeks to divide what God unites, but followers of Jesus are called to live counter-culturally by pursuing friendships that reflect God's truth, grace, and purpose. True friendship begins with intimacy with God and extends outward as we initiate, cultivate, heal, or sometimes sever relationships so that every connection draws us closer to Christ and builds His Kingdom. At Jesus' Crucifixion and Death, the “Temple Veil” Was Torn; After Jesus Easter Resurrection, You Now Pray Directly with God MESSAGE SUMMARY: Think about the magnitude of your direct and personal access to God that your prayers give you, through Jesus, if you will only pray. Before Jesus, ordinary people did not have direct access to God, through the Throne Room of God, with a direct personal relationship with God. In Old Testament times, people would come to the priests; and the priest would offer up a sacrifice on behalf of the people. The priests, and not the people, were communing directly with God. On Good Friday and at Jesus death on the cross, the “Temple Veil” was torn from top to bottom (i.e. “Temple Vail” was a large, very thick, and very heavy barrier that divided that portion of the Temple accessible by those wishing to sacrifice for prayer and the “Holy of Holies” where the only the High Priest could meet with God and pray on behalf of the people of God.). At Jesus Resurrection, no longer was an intermediary (e.g., a Priest) required for direct prayer with God by the people in Christ (i.e. Jesus Followers). Because Jesus created a New Covenant relationship with His followers, now your prayers are in direct communion with God, the Creator of the Universe. Everyone, who is in Christ, may have access to the Throne Room of God in the name of Jesus. What a privilege this direct access to God is for those who are in Christ. The author of Hebrews, in Hebrews 4:16, tells Jesus Followers that, because of the Gospel, you have direct access to God's “throne of Grace” for your needs: “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.". TODAY'S PRAYER: Keeping the Sabbath, Lord, will require a lot of changes in the way I am living life. Teach me, Lord, how to take the next step with this in a way that fits my unique personality and situation. Help me to trust you with all that will remain unfinished and to enjoy my humble place in your very large world. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Matthew 5.13-16How can I make a difference in other people's lives? How can I build a life on the gospel that loves and leads others to the real Jesus? These are questions we ask whether younger and figuring life out or older and established. This Sunday, we'll hear Jesus tell his disciples they've been made new. They've been made salt. They've been made light. And as they (and we!) live as his people doing good works, others will see them and glorify God the Father.
We live in an age where lies are weaponized, emotions overrule facts, and our algorithms shape us more than Scripture. From “alternative facts” to echo chambers, from conspiracy theories to rage-bait headlines, our world is saturated with misinformation. But this isn't new. Nehemiah faced his own “post-truth” world. In Nehemiah 6, he is bombarded with lies, threats, and gossip. Their goal? To derail God's work. Yet Nehemiah stood firm—discerning truth from lies, courage from fear, and God's voice amid the noise. This week, we'll explore how Nehemiah's wisdom and perseverance speak directly to our modern crisis of discernment. We'll learn how we can remain wise in a world full of noise.

Jesus' last words to the 11 remaining disciples was to “go and make disciples…baptizing them and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded.” (Matt 28:18-20)Chapter 2 of Paul's letter reiterates this in his instructions that Titus teach sound doctrine within the context of relationships. Sound doctrine simply means teaching that aligns with all that Jesus taught and that promotes Christlikeness. Making disciples happens within relationships just as Jesus modeled with his own disciples. Here Paul expounds on this truth instructing men and women to encourage one another in behavior that honors God. As we study these passages on right living, it's vital we remember the foundational truth highlighted in our memory verse. It is by Grace alone that our lives are transformed and our ability to obey Jesus comes thru His power and not our own efforts. During our sermon series studying Paul's letter to Titus we encourage you to memorize Titus 2:11-14. For this week continue to **work on memorizing Titus 2:12**, stacking it on 2:11For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, ---Titus 2:11-12------Prepare for this week's teaching by reading Titus 2:1-8

This Sunday, we are nearing the end of our series in 1 Peter, a letter that has guided us through the challenges of living faithfully in a world that often opposes God. We'll reflect on the first half of chapter 5, where Peter encourages church leaders to shepherd with humility and integrity, and calls all believers to follow God's appointed leadership with trust and joy. As we explore these truths, we'll see how the roles of leader and follower work together to strengthen the church, and how God uses each of us in His plan. I'll also be highlighting Hebrews 13:17, reminding us that our leaders watch over our souls and that our attitude toward them - whether joyful, respectful, and trusting or grumbling and resistant - directly impacts the health and joy of our church family. We'll draw lessons from the story of Israel in the wilderness, their struggles with trust and submission, and how God's people can learn to respond in humility, bring their concerns respectfully, and grow together in faith. As we prepare our hearts this week, I encourage you to reflect on your place in the church. Are you stepping into your role, whether as a leader, a follower, or a servant, with trust, humility, and joy? I look forward to gathering with you this Sunday to celebrate God's faithfulness, learn from His Word, and encourage one another to live faithfully in our community and in the world.
