It’s not the same as a job. Not the same as a career. We don’t go to school, learn our alphabet, contend with geometry, submit to earning a degree in order to fulfill the “call.” The call is outside the realm of listening and adhering to education. It IS the education.

There are things in this life that are right to do, and things that are wrong to do… would you agree? However, when we hear the Spike Lee movie phrase, “Do the Right Thing”… there may be a larger picture to consider. Could we agree that the phrase ‘do the right thing’ is just part of it… just half of the story. If we consider it without the framework of choice, this popular phrase really has no significance in and of itself.
Have you ever wondered if you can have it all? If you’re a stay at home parent, this question of capacity might have crossed your mind a time or two? Can I do this and do that? Am I capable to be a spouse and a friend? Maybe you’ve not wondered if, but more of how. This means that you’ve already accepted that there is a possibility of having it all, and that now you’re finding a way to make it work. Instead of asking if (or why), you’re asking how can I manage to do it all effectively?
Is change really good? … It can look from the outside like change is a bad thing. Actually, if it is something that brings us (or those around us) discomfort, the consensus is quickly to ‘please stop!’. It doesn’t feel good or at least, doesn’t feel right.

No, I’m not your teacher… Nor am I designed to be. The things that come from your being, simply disagree with me. I would hate to have to tell you something serious, as in a real truth, because the only thing you’d see is the spinach on my tooth. Trite, a bit, shallow, as sh@t. Not accustomed to the volume of my voice. Not comfortable when, and I say when, I choose to make a choice. Yet you, you want to continue to lavish us with condescending kisses. The are brutal, heavy, but mostly smooth so we don’t see you dismiss us. We are nothing to your world, your wonderful world of selfish gems. Do all that you can to make believe, do all you can to play pretend. The time will come, yes it is shortened when your decisions will be fluid. Not being able to lean on the lie that another made you do it. Take it raw, and take it deep, for it’s your own life on the line. After all, that’s all that you’ll have left since you don’t think much of mine. So with this truth, this truth with you I was so willing to share. Now, I’ll have to share it with the world… because you simply do not care. #earstohear #noitchingears #dontbelievethelie #truthnotreligion Published at: http://tiffaneejacob.com/themissingtruth/
Some people want us to speak so that they can listen… really listen. Sometimes the same people want us to speak so that they can say their piece. Other people simply don’t care to have an exchange with us at all. In John Mayer’s hit 2006 song, “Say what you need to say,” it offers a pretty moving melody that urges us to open our mouths. Great song. Great idea. With this idea however comes the truth that when we do open our mouths and say what we need to say, (Assuming that what we say needs to be heard), we will be challenged to say it some more, and then again. At some point we’ll be asked to give arguments to support it, reasoning. Even further into it we might be asked to write a book, perhaps speak on the subject in the public sphere if we haven’t already. We’ll be asked to take our words and align them with some greater cause or bigger purpose. We will or we won’t, with or without compensation. And then it will come.... Reason for Growth You may remember (depending on your age) the Toys R Us jingle, “I don’t wanna grow up, I’m a toys r us kid…” And then it continues on about all the things that are wonderful about staying young. Do you remember it? It was so delightful and catchy that I still sometimes find myself breakout into song with these exact lyrics when life gets too hard.... Author Unknown: Picked this quote up a while back. Quest for purpose.
“I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time.” - Eccl 9:11
2 Corinthians 9-12:"We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body. "Visit http://tiffaneejacob.com/the-road-to-improvement/
