Welcome to Day 2777 of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom. Day 2777 – Wisdom Nuggets – Psalm 106:34-48 – Daily Wisdom Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2777 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day two thousand seven hundred seventy-seven of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. The title for today's Wisdom-Trek is: The Horror of Accommodation – When the Salt Loses Its Savor. Today, we reach the solemn conclusion of our journey through Psalm One Hundred Six. We are trekking through the final section, verses thirty-four through forty-eight, in the New Living Translation. This marks not only the end of this specific psalm but also the conclusion of Book Four of the Psalter. In our previous trek, we walked through the "Cycle of Amnesia" in the wilderness. We watched a generation that had been liberated by the mighty hand of God crumble into grumbling, envy, and idolatry. We saw them trade their glorious God for a grass-eating bull at Sinai. We saw them yoke themselves to the dead spirits at Baal-Peor. It was a tragic catalog of missed opportunities and hardened hearts. But as we turn to verse thirty-four, the scene shifts. The wilderness wanderings are over. Joshua has led the people across the Jordan. The walls of Jericho have fallen. The people are now living in the Promised Land—the "pleasant land" they once despised. You might think, "Finally! They made it! Now they will surely be faithful." Tragically, the change of geography did not create a change of heart. In this final section, we witness the slow, agonizing slide from Conquest to Compromise, and finally to Captivity. We will see what happens when the people of God stop fighting the culture and start becoming the culture. We will encounter the darkest verse in Israel's history—the sacrifice of children to demons—and we will see how the land itself vomited them out. But, true to the character of Yahweh, we will also see that even in the darkest pit of exile, the ladder of Covenant Love still reaches down. So, let us brace ourselves for the hard truth of history, and the healing balm of God's mercy. The first segment is: The Failure of Assimilation: Mingling with the Darkness. Psalm One Hundred Six: verses thirty-four through thirty-nine. Israel failed to destroy the nations in the land, as the Lord had commanded them. Instead, they mingled among the pagans and adopted their evil customs. They worshiped their idols, which became a snare to them. They even sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons. They shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters. By sacrificing them to the idols of Canaan, they polluted the land with murder. They defiled themselves by their evil deeds, and their love of idols was...

Send us a textWhat begins as a sincere desire to understand the Jewish roots of the Christian faith can, in some cases, drift into something far more complicated. In this video, we explore the progression many believers experience as curiosity about the Torah slowly shifts from healthy study to imposed obligation. By tracing common stages within Torahism (aka Hebrew Roots Movement, Torah-keeping, Torah-observant Christianity) we examine why this trajectory can lead to confusion, division, and a displacement of the gospel. The video also offers practical guidance for thoughtfully and graciously engaging friends or family members who have embraced Torah observance, with an emphasis on patience, discernment, and keeping Christ at the center.Read the article: From Curiosity to Captivity: The Journey into Torah-Observant ChristianityThe Biblical Roots MinistriesOur websiteOur YouTube ChannelProf. Solberg's BlogSupport our Ministry (Thank you!)Chapters00:00 Intro3:34 The 5 Stage of Torahism12:07 Addressing Torah Keepers
SYNOPSIS:In this live Q&A episode of The Brilliant Body Podcast, host Ali Mezey is joined by fan-favorite guest and Longevity Zoologist, Dr. Zoolittle (“Penny”) for a wide-ranging, eye-opening conversation on how we can radically improve the health, happiness, and lifespan of our animal companions.Together, Ali and Penny explore what it truly means to be intelligent caretakers of animals – moving beyond conventional pet care toward a rewilded, biologically informed approach rooted in functional and regenerative medicine. Penny explains why pets used to live much longer, how modern lifestyles disrupt animal biology, and what we can learn from wild animals about instinct, self-medication, nutrition, movement, and rest. The discussion dives into practical and often surprising topics, including animal instinct versus learned behavior, why dogs don't naturally overeat, how feeding patterns affect hormones and longevity, the profound impact of spaying and neutering on animal health, and the importance of species-appropriate diets. Penny also answers audience questions on indoor cats, fasting, raw versus cooked food, enrichment, and how to bring nature back into our pets' lives – even within modern homes. This episode challenges deeply ingrained assumptions about pet care and offers compassionate, science-based insights that empower animal guardians to support their companions in thriving – not just surviving – well into old age. This episode explores the theme of "being the head and not the tail," drawing from Deuteronomy 28 to encourage listeners to shift from a mindset of bondage and subservience to one of leadership and obedience to God. Samuel emphasizes that blessings follow faithful submission and obedience, contrasting the generational effects of living in freedom versus captivity. Practical examples illustrate how spiritual and financial freedom can be cultivated over time, impacting future generations. The episode closes with a call to embrace obedience, patience, and a lifestyle distinct from worldly patterns, trusting that God equips and blesses those who follow His ways.

After Russian-Israeli academic Elizabeth Tsurkov was freed from captivity in Iraq in September following two and a half years of imprisonment and torture, she returned to a very different Israel, she said in a wide-ranging interview on the Haaretz Podcast. Israelis “have changed in very fundamental ways,” she said. “After October 7, the circle of people towards whom Israelis feel compassion shrunk very significantly.” As she returns to public life as a researcher and commentator on Middle East affairs, while undergoing physical rehabilitation from injuries she suffered as the prisoner of Kata’ib Hezbollah, she has already been attacked by the Israeli right for social media posts in support of human rights and critical of Israel’s policies in Gaza. Despite being held in captivity, she said, her political views “have not substantially changed: I still see Arabs as human beings, which is an unpopular opinion, it seems.” In her conversation with host Allison Kaplan Sommer, Tsurkov discusses the politics of Iraq – the country where she was kidnapped and held – following their recent elections, calling it a “failed oil state” driven by the behavior of Iranian-backed militias with “no clear path for reform and change.” She also analyzes the impact of the new regime in Syria, praising the policies of U.S. President Donald Trump towards the year-old government. She also credits the president with her release. “Trump is the reason I'm free. This is not an interpretation, this is a fact. I know exactly how I came to be released: It was because of threats that were made on his behalf.” Read more: Right-wing Pundit Amit Segal: Tsurkov 'Should Do Some Soul-searching About the Price Her Stupid Adventures Cost Israel' 'Strung Up and Tortured': Elizabeth Tsurkov Recounts Over Two Years of Captivity in Iraq 'Things Weren't Easy': After Iraq Captivity, Elizabeth Tsurkov Tells Netanyahu She Was Tortured What Is Kata'ib Hezbollah? Kentucky Chronicles: A Podcast of the Kentucky Historical Society
November 2025 marks 200 years since the founding of Choctaw Academy, the first boarding school for Native Americans in the United States. Located in Great Crossings in Scott County, Choctaw Academy educated more than 600 students from across 17 nations. The academy, however, was more than a boarding school. It was a place where larger debates over imperialism, slavery, and Native American policy played out. Join us today for a discussion with Dr. Christina Snyder, author of the 2017 book Great Crossings: Indians, Settlers, and Slaves in the Age of Jackson. Dr. Christina Snyder is the McCabe-Greer Professor of History at The Pennsylvania State University. Snyder earned her Ph.D. in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Snyder is the author of Great Crossings: Indians, Settlers, and Slaves in the Age of Jackson and Slavery in Indian Country: The Changing Face of Captivity in Early America. These books received a wide range of accolades, including the Francis Parkman Prize, the John H. Dunning Prize, the James H. Broussard Prize, and the John C. Ewers Prize. En este episodio de Penitencia conocemos la historia de una mujer que fue secuestrada en marzo de 2019 y mantuvo en cautiverio durante cuatro días, donde sufrió violencia extrema y múltiples agresiones. Lo más impactante es que cinco años después, sus agresores aún no tienen sentencia.00:00:00 - 00:02:26 | Introducción al caso / Case introduction00:02:26 - 00:08:11 | El secuestro: me subí a la camioneta / The kidnapping: I got in the van00:08:12 - 00:15:29 | Cautiverio: 4 días de terror / Captivity: 4 days of terror00:15:30 - 00:28:02 | El proceso legal: 5 años sin justicia / The legal process: 5 years without justice00:28:03 - 00:35:11 | Perdón sin olvido: mi lucha continúa / Forgiveness without forgetting: my fight continues-------------------In this episode of Penitencia, we hear the story of a woman who was kidnapped in March 2019 and held captive for four days, where she suffered extreme violence and multiple assaults. The most shocking part? Even after her release, they tried to kidnap her son, forcing her to beg authorities for protection. This is a story about the relentless search for justice, forgiveness without forgetting, and the reality of a justice system that fails victims. This RedIn30 session marks Day 4 of the cycle — Matthew 10–12 — and introduces the theme “Red State of Mind.” The conversation opens with a revelation: every figure in Scripture mirrors a thought within the mind, and Jesus represents the true consciousness — the divine thinker at the center of it all. The hosts explore how reading the red words becomes an audit of mentality, showing where each of us stands in proximity to the Spirit's nature. Anything misaligned with that nature is sin — not in behavior, but in thought. To “bring every thought into captivity” becomes more than self-discipline; it's an interrogation of belief itself. Every idea must face the light of Christ until its true origin is revealed. The discussion dives into the image of disciples as disciplines — thoughts called, arranged, and sent by divine order. When Jesus empowers the twelve to cast out unclean spirits and heal all disease, it symbolizes the cleansing of mental disorder. Thoughts that breed sickness or fear are brought into alignment with the Spirit. This becomes a picture of mental deliverance — the soul learning to discern which ideas carry divine breath and which carry decay. The process isn't punishment; it's freedom. Captivity, they note, is what protects the soul's peace. By bringing thoughts under command, you discover the same authority that Jesus modeled — inner government that produces rest. The conversation turns deeply personal and practical. They talk about the chaos of daily thoughts — the whirlwind of activity that pulls the mind out of presence — and how Jesus' invitation, “Come unto me… and I will give you rest,” is an active call to realignment. Rest, they explain, isn't recovery after exhaustion; it's the natural rhythm of a mind in agreement with God. It's not striving to think better but learning to think from His presence. Even suicidal or self-destructive thoughts are reframed as impostors that try to convince the soul they are the self. When brought before the presence of Christ, those thoughts lose their power — they can die without taking you with them. The episode closes with a call to live from presence, not performance. Meditation, prayer, worship — all are tools for entering awareness, not substitutes for it. When you realize that “God with us” means God in us, every moment becomes sacred. The “red state of mind” isn't an emotional high; it's a sustained consciousness — the awareness of truth that makes lies bow. Once the mind stays there, even the Pharisee thoughts within — judgmental, belittling, comparing — must submit to the inner Christ. The kingdom is not coming; it's already here, in you, working to bring every thought home. Get full access to REDIN30 at redin30.substack.com/subscribe

Often we look at life working in a linear, predictable manner. We function under the assumption that if we do good things, we get good results. Conversely, we assume that if we do bad things we get bad results. If you are a believer, you can easily apply similar logic to your spiritual life. Our thoughts travel along the lines that if I do good things, God will bless me. Similarly, we conclude that if bad things happen to me then God must be against me. What happens to our faith when these perspectives get challenged? Today, in part 3 of our series on Joseph, we look closely at Genesis 39 and see Joseph's circumstances running drastically different to our assumptions. The story of Joseph may cause us to realign our thoughts to God's sovereignty and our attitudes toward Him and our circumstances.Support the show
Prince Andrew's downfall plays out like a tragic nature documentary — the story of a once-proud royal creature who mistook privilege for power and arrogance for immortality. For decades, he thrived in the sheltered ecosystem of the British monarchy, shielded by wealth and the shadow of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. But his association with Jeffrey Epstein introduced a parasite into that protected environment, exposing the rot beneath the royal veneer. What began as a symbiotic relationship between two predators quickly turned toxic. When Epstein fell, the delicate ecosystem around him collapsed, leaving Andrew exposed and unadapted to the harsh new climate of public accountability. His attempt at survival — the infamous BBC interview — became his undoing, a bizarre display of delusion that only deepened his isolation. Once surrounded by privilege and protection, Andrew found himself exiled within his own habitat, reduced to a sad relic pacing the confines of the Royal Lodge. Stripped of duties and dignity, he serves now as a living fossil — a cautionary specimen of arrogance untempered by awareness. In nature, as in scandal, survival belongs not to the well-born, but to those who can evolve. Prince Andrew, unable or unwilling to adapt, has been left behind — the echo of a species that believed itself immune to extinction.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.com

Fear is not of God. Fear is a killer... If we continue to court fear, we're literally bringing the devil into our space Please fear not!
In this episode, Dr. Kim and John West discuss “Stockholm Syndrome Christianity” and how cultural captivity can pull Christians away from biblical truth. They explore the impact of these influences on marriage, from weakened faithfulness to the generational effects of broken promises on children. The conversation highlights the need for intentionality in guarding our hearts, shaping our children's worldview, and staying rooted in truth. Listeners will be encouraged to build marriages that mutually support, advocate, and thrive in a world that often pulls in the opposite direction. Episode Highlights: As believers, what we are consuming directly affects how boldly we live out our faith. Too many believers aren't prioritizing biblical truth and their relationships reflect their culture more than their faith. The church has not been immune to cultural influences. Culture tells us that feelings trump biblical truth. Quotes from Today's Episode: If you live your life oriented towards God's truth, it's designed for our flourishing.- John West Every spouse needs to be their partner's biggest advocate.- John West The impact on kids from broken marriages is traumatic. - John West If you have a certain feeling, you don't have to act it out. - John West If you're listening to a never-ending stream of lies, you're going to become very reticent about speaking up or living based on your Christian beliefs.- John West What I saw in the christian community is a lot of christians being culturally captive. - John West If you're a christian, especially in industries, you spend a lot of your life around cultural captors. Many christians have adopted this secular view that sex isn't to be reserved for marriage.- John West If you have a diet in your entertainment consumption for you and your kids, that everyone's doing it- it's normalized, it's going to affect how you live. -John West It's really important to be in the world, not of the world. -Dr. Kim You need to be wise enough and intentional enough to know that putting that stuff inside of you is going to have an impact- and impact your kids.- John West The number 1 thing is you need to ask yourself- who is really raising your kids? Couples' Conversation Guide: As you reflect on your marriage relationship, where do you see culture influencing you the most? Are there biblical truths you've found harder to live out in today's world? Why? Do you believe there are any “outdated” parts of the Bible? Who or what has the largest influence on your marriage? Who or what has the largest influence on your children? Mentioned in this Episode: Learn more about the Discovery Institute and John West. Find Awesome Marriage on Instagram! Relationships have the power to change lives in ways both visible and hidden. Deep, supportive bonds can quiet inflammation in the body, protect against disease, and anchor people through decades of triumphs and trials. Communities that come together—whether in small groups at a church or around a shared health goal—often achieve far more than individuals working alone, sometimes transforming their health on a massive scale. Lifelong friends celebrate each other's victories without jealousy, weather hardship side by side, and dare to speak difficult truths even at the risk of the relationship. Yet, many remain in unfulfilling connections out of fear of loneliness, forgetting that genuine, vulnerable connection is not just emotionally nourishing—it is essential to human health and resilience. In this episode, I talk with Simon Sinek, Esther Perel, and Angelika Alana about how relationships are vital not just for emotional health, but for physical wellbeing and can be a great source of growth and healing. Simon is a spark that ignites passion and ideas. He envisions a world where people wake up inspired, feel safe, and end their day fulfilled. As an unshakeable optimist and trained ethnographer, Simon is fascinated by people and organizations that make a lasting impact. He has discovered remarkable patterns in how they think, act, and communicate, revealing how people perform at their best. Simon is widely known for his TED Talk on "WHY" and his viral video on millennials in the workplace. Through bestselling books like Start with WHY and his podcast A Bit of Optimism, he continues to inspire. Founder of The Optimism Company and Optimism Press, Simon shares innovative views on leadership, attracting international attention. He also works with the U.S. government, the RAND Corporation, and in 2021, founded The Curve to reform modern policing, advancing justice with dignity, equity, and fairness. Psychotherapist and New York Times bestselling author Esther Perel is recognized as one of today's most insightful and original voices on modern relationships. Fluent in nine languages, she helms a therapy practice in New York City and serves as an organizational consultant for Fortune 500 companies around the world. Her celebrated TED Talks have garnered more than 30 million views and her bestselling books, Mating in Captivity and The State of Affairs, are global phenomena translated into nearly 30 languages. Esther is also an executive producer and host of the popular podcasts Where Should We Begin? and How's Work? Her latest project is Where Should We Begin - A Game of Stories with Esther Perel. Angelika Alana is the founder and CEO of the Somatic Healing Institute. She has been featured in Vanity Fair, Well+Good, and Modern Luxury. She certifies coaches and facilitators in her transformational body-based healing method. She has traveled and studied extensively in Indonesia, Brazil, Australia, and the UK, and is a massive foodie with her husband Patrick Drake, co-founder of Hello Fresh.
