ANYWAY, my long awaited fitness journey episode is finally here! Just a disclaimer: I am NOT a fitness coach, physician, or nutritionist. HOWEVER, I am a person just like you, who's gone on this journey — and if I am capable of making this lifestyle change, so are you. On this episode of Pillow Talk, I am putting y'all on game to all of my fitness hacks, taking you guys back to where it all started, in addition to exploring the "why" behind my fitness journey/transformation process. Tune in and take notes as I'm giving you all of the ingredients to my "seeing results" sauce. Let's face it — 2020 has been one hell of a year. With 4 months left of this rollercoaster ride, I felt the need to let yall in on some of the demons I've been fighting. From feeling like a failure, comparing myself to what's shown on social media, along with my savior complex, and abandonment issues — did I mention my attachment issues to those who are emotionally unavailable? I am unpacking all of the mess that I am, in front of you so that you know we're in this fight together. We can be a mess together. This is the time to give yourself some grace. Give yourself some credit, some room to breathe. "Summer 2020" is over and we all beat the heat, even when it seemed like we didn't. Now it's time for the next chapter. The rebrand. Let's all do the healing and all the work that we need to on ourselves, and reload our mindsets. *I do not own the rights to Summer 2020 by Jhene Aiko*
Last night was the iconic Verzuz between two R&B legends, Brandy & Monica. They're not the only one who was singing "The Boy Is Mine" at one point in their lives though. This episode is all about how once upon a time, I was singing that same tune along with a couple of other women. If you've found yourself in a situation where you were claiming somebody that wasn't all the way yours, tap in and listen to this story time inspired by last night's Verzuz. *I do not own the rights to The Boy Is Mine by Brandy & Monica. Let's be real. I know I am not the only one who doesn't like the holidays. Allow me to be fully transparent and share my story about why "it's okay not to be okay". In this episode, I am diving deep into what that means exactly. I'm putting privacy to the side, and letting you guys in on one of my most painful life experiences that has changed me forever. I'm touching on the importance of allowing yourself to feel, to hurt, to be sad, to cry, but also to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get back to thuggin it out. If you're a holiday fanatic, this may not be the episode for you. However, if you're like me, and the holidays are hard for you, I hope that you find comfort with this episode and know that you're not alone.
