Hey folks. As the title suggests, I am indeed going on a little hiatus so there won't be a new episode this week as scheduled. I've got an absolute bear of an exam looming over me - a two-day, 16-hour licensing extravaganza coming up in April. I've been able to balance work, studying, life, and the podcast up until now but, as the exam nears, I'm finding that harder and harder to do. For my own sanity, something has to give and unfortunately, the podcast is the only thing that can. Have no fear, intrepid listener - I'm not about to leave you dangling from a cliffhanger episode forever. MYTH will be back on May 6th with part 2 of Raiko and Shutendoji. See you all then!
Finally, The Rock has come back to... Oh, wait, sorry guys. Wrong thing. But FINALLY, the Mr. Classic Invitational is here! Just 2 days from now we will find out who will earn the title of the first ever Mr. Classic. There's a lot of unknowns going into this tournament like what deck each player will play, but one thing that is known is that the winner of the first ever Mr. Classic is on this podcast episode! How can I be so certain? That's because all eight participants in the Mr. Classic Invitational are on this MEGA sized episode. That's right, all eight! Eight interviews to set the scene for Mr. Classic. Whether you are flying/driving to Knoxville or are not able to attend, this episode will get you ready to watch in person or via livestream as the first ever battle of the best in Redemption history is upon us! Interviews are in seed order. Seed order listed below, along with time stamp of individual interview: 1) John Earley III (RedDragonThorn) 04:10:08 2) Justin Alstad (The Guardian) 03:51:02 3) Tyler Stevens (Mr.Hiatus) 03:09:18 4) Jayden Alstad(TheJaylor) 02:11:00 5) Brian Jones (Jone$y) 01:41:38 6) Ron Sias (Quinn) 01:08:05 7) Jay Chambers (FloodedRED) 00:39:47 8) Marc Vellake (marc0090) 00:07:04 Order of recording: Justin Alstad Jayden Alstad Brian Jones John Earley III Marc Vellake Jay Chambers Ron Sias Tyler Stevens

Your host is back! Hiatus and inconsistency... but he has been working behind the scenes to make it happen! On this episode, Jeremiah opens up with a story about former Vice President Spiro Agnew who was under numerous investigations and vowed not to resign if indicted. 12 days later after saying that, he resigned! He compares this to former President Donald Trump making the same play but going dangerously further in his allies actively dismantling the system investigating him. It's his first monologue in a while, full of compassion, rigor, and remarkable storytelling--as he makes a stunning and big return to the show like you've never seen him before! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thejeremiahpattersonshow/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thejeremiahpattersonshow/support

In November 2021, we decided to go on a nice little winter hiatus. And what a long winter it has been! But at last we emerge out of hibernation, shaking the snow off our backs and the dust off our microphones. Listen in to this update for more details!
We're going out for cigarettes. Be back soon.
Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day for February 24, 2023 is: hiatus hye-AY-tus noun In general contexts, hiatus usually refers to a period of time when something, such as an activity or program, is suspended. In biology, hiatus refers to a gap or passage in an anatomical part or organ, and in linguistics, it denotes the occurrence of two vowel sounds without pause or intervening consonantal sound. // The band has been on hiatus for three years, but is returning to live performance this summer. See the entry > Examples: “With the release of The Mandalorian season 3 just over six weeks away, after a two-year hiatus, Lucasfilm dropped a new trailer on Monday, giving us a glimpse of what's next in the adventures of Din Djarin and Grogu.” — Oli Welsh, Polygon.com, 16 Jan. 2023 Did you know? This brief hiatus in your day is brought to you by, well, hiatus. While the word now most often refers to a temporary pause, hiatus originally referred to a physical opening in something, such as the mouth of a cave, or, as the 18th century British novelist Laurence Sterne would have it, a sartorial gap: in the wildly experimental novel Tristram Shandy, Sterne wrote of “the hiatus in Phutatorius's breeches.” Hiatus comes from the Latin verb hiare, meaning “to open wide,” which makes it a distant relation of both yawn and chasm. And that's all we have for now—you may resume your regular activities.

If you struggled through the classically complex and layered story of the last four seasons, you're not alone. It was, as Mrs Sheffield has it, "more twisty-turny than my graduate teaching assistant's insides after my AP Honours' Intestinal Inversion lecture and practicuum." So Dr. Charles Tucket, who you may remember from another hiatus episode, The Oz 8000 Biosphere: Portrait of a Refuge, has been unthawed once again to provide some much-needed and hopefully not teeth-grittingly dull exposition and explanation. Good luck. Take notes. You've been listening to: Kyle Jones as the tour guide and Narrator Two. Chris Nadolny Gourley as your Narrator, and David S Dear as Dr. Charlie Tucket. Our music is by John Faley; our artwork by Lucas Elliott. Sarah Golding is the dialogue editor, and Oliver Morris is our sound designer. Oz 9 is written by Shannon Perry.
