For Elijah, for Paul, and for us there is a need to know that you are not alone. We need to know and be reminded that God is at work when you do not see it and God is at work when you are not.
Join us as we explore Paul's heart for worshippers in Athens and his strategy to paint for them this beautiful picture of a God who is worthy of all praise.
We come to scripture to see God. God cannot be domesticated or clipped. We come to scripture to have more of God's glory and God's grace revealed to us. The Bible is not just for the transference of information but the transformation of our lives. If the Bible is our highest court of authority and should be the lens through which we see the world, how do we affirm what the Bible affirms and deny what the Bible denies?
What do you hope to gain in various areas of your life? What do you hope to gain that is going to give you motivation to go to work tomorrow morning when you alarm goes off? What do you hope to gain by going on that date, accepting that new position at work, going to the gym and pumping iron? What do we hope to gain through loss: What do you hope to gain by losing all that weight? What do you hope to gain through retiring? What do you hope to gain by getting free from behaviors or habits that are destructive in your life? Join us as we explore the idea of our hope for gain through loss, through worldly gain, and through Kingdom gain.
Like all of us, there are some parts of Timothy’s reputation that are not so desirable and our family reputation can hold some biases and even guilt and shame upon us depending on whether or not we break the mold. How do we view our reputation in light of the gospel and “become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some” (1 Corinthians 9:22)?
Have you ever wondered how churches can share the same orthodoxy yet have a different orthopraxy? (Same passages of the great commission yet different ways of pursuing it.) How do we make hard decisions as a group and individually? This passage is all about making hard decisions. Hard decisions as a group of believers and even a hard decision between friends and ministry leaders. Yet in our hard decisions God can give us the conviction to move to the places He wants us to go while still providing wisdom by the Spirit in order to keep us out of the “ditches.”
Listen in as we hear from Pastor Tom Sahlstrom who was a former Senior Pastor here at Princeton Free Church.
Who is on the throne of your life? God takes away or allows things to be taken away so how does this dynamic affect us from keeping God on the throne of our lives? Why should I keep God on the throne of my life when He gives or when He takes away? In this episode, we look to Paul's word of encouragement for answers.
Developing an Evangelism Strategy: What is “Common Ground” when developing an evangelism strategy? Living in the same neighborhood… Being in the same Season of Life… Ex: Kids…Empty Nesters…No Kids ...Retired…ect. Similar Interests... Ex: Sports…Hobbies...Food…etc. After Developing a “Common Ground Focus” ask: In what places should you hang out in order to build these relationships with those you want to reach? How will you invite others to join you at the table or to be apart of your life? How will you commit to listening prayer for those that God is sending you to? What will you specifically do so that those that God is sending you to will hear the gospel this year?
As we look to the new year and pray for God's blessing in our life, do we have a biblical understanding of what that really means? Have we considered whether we are in a position for God to be able to bless us? Join us as we uncover a biblical idea of blessing found in Genesis and bring some applications from Psalm 1 to what it means to be a blessed man or woman in 2020.
Listen in as we look at a familiar prophesy recorded in Isaiah 9 concerning the Messiahs birth and consider what tries to steal our hope. How can we find hope in Jesus today?
The greatest story ever told contains characters that display amazing faith but what is faith? Listen in as we seek to answer this simple yet critical question.
When we look at the genealogy of Christ what do we see? We see characters who exhibit incredible trust in God, as well as, family messiness that God works in and through. What is the incredible trust that we see in the manger and how do we live with incredible trust in Jesus in the midst of messiness?
The greatest stories ever told contain great conflict... and an even greater hope! Listen as we consider the promises given by God through the prophet Jeremiah.
Do you love shows on HGTV that tell the story of an extreme makeover? Then your going to love the story of Saul's transformation because of the Gospel of grace! Listen in as we unpack the story of a man whose life was completely changed when he came face to face with Jesus.
Join us as we hear from our North Central District Superintendent Brian Farone talk about waiting for the glorious return of Christ.
Who is really following God? Is the Law, the Temple, and the leadership of Moses a "capstone" finishing touch of God's plan or are they "signposts" of God bigger story? In Stephens defense to those who would falsely accuse him, these are the kinds of questions that Stephen answers for the religious leaders and the church today.
Join us as we continue in our series on Acts with Tony Cassiday.
If you had the antidote for a disease would you give it freely or withhold it? When we go through trials and the world around us seems to be in uncertainty how does God reveal Himself? How do I go through trials without resenting God? All of these are questions that disciples struggle with both, past and present, yet God gives us a clear answer to these questions and more in this weeks episode.
What would it look like to live out the two greatest commands of loving God and loving others? In this episode we discussed how the early church lived out loving God and loving others in having "everything in common." While the church description tells us about the church as a whole, we are also given 3 portraits of those who were a part of the vibrant community and their contributions (negatively and positively) as they have "everything in common".
The miracles that Jesus did and does through His church can never be separated from the message of the gospel. While people usually don't have a problem with the miracles, some have a problem when confronted with the message of who the miracles proclaim Jesus to be. Last week we witnessed a miracle and this week we witness how God proclaims His message even through conflict and strengthens His people to be bold for Him.
What would you consider to be a miracle? Is there more to miracles than what meets the eye? In this weeks episode we dive deeper into the meaning behind the miracles that the Apostles did in the name of Jesus and the type of response that they called for.
In this episode we look at Acts 2:42-47 in order to discover what elements make a healthy church. Although the early church was not perfect, Luke gives us a great summary description of what kinds of activities that made it so fruitful and impactful. What does it mean to be a community? This question still has dire relevance for the Church today!
What makes Peter's sermon on Pentecost so great?
Without the person and work of the Holy Spirit the Church would not be able to do the work of the global mission of God. In fact, when we try to do the mission of God without the proper equipping of the Holy Spirit we may do more harm than good. The day of Pentecost is so significant to the Church but what did it signify and mean? What does it mean to be baptized with the Holy Spirit? Do you need to speak in tongues to be considered a Christian?
Have you ever lived in uncertainty in a decision you had to make about your future? Uncertainty when it comes to sickness? Uncertainty with a relationship you were in? These are all very human experiences on this side of heaven but is there a way to find certainty in uncertainty? Join us as we explore Biblical truths from the early church in the book of Acts 1:1-26.
