 A new member of the leadership team has joined the Prairie View A&M University College of Agriculture and Human Sciences with the appointment of Dr. Alton B. Johnson. We will be discussing several topics, including the direction of the College of Agriculture and Human Sciences, his background in extension and upcoming goals and events that he will be apart of. This show highlights two major businesses in the Prairie View area that have developed into the local hotspots near Prairie View A&M University main campus. Host LaRachelle Smith from Cooperative Extension  and co-host Lakesha Clark, Miss Prairie View A&M University , interviews entrepreneurs, Mr. Hemp, owner of the Donut Shop and Mr. and. Mrs. Charleston, owners of Brubakers.They gave tips  on how to start a business, and shared insight on how they were able to launch their business in the rural area of Prairie View, Texas. Listen as they talk about some of the essentials to writing a business plan and how to build a profitable and successful business from the ground up.

Evacuation: Plan to Stay or Get Away is this year’s summit theme and will focus on the safety of residents and resources available to prepare for possible emergency evacuation including A Plan of Action, Recovery of Infrastructure following the disaster, Awareness of the PVAMU Weather/SCAN station, GIS Technology and the continuity of Agriculture and Business. It's that time of year again when the College of Agriculture and Human Sciences hosts the annual Agriculture Field Day and invites the public to come and join in the festivities. There's something for the whole family and lots of valuable information to gain including workshops on Farmscaping, a high school career day, a goat barbecue cook-off and so much more.
