It has been a hot minute! (I promise I am not going to keep disappearing on you all). WiFi in the Smoky Mountains - Does your signal get through?

We are live on location this week - in Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains. We knew going into this trip that we were going to be totally self-contained, but we weren’t sure about Internet. I am teaching online and I need to be able to reach, and be reached by, students during the week. Being totally off-grid is not an option. After researching many options, we put together a great WiFi system for off grid work - and it worked great until we really got back into the mountains. Final conclusion, this system is perfect when you have a signal to boost - but if there is no signal at all, not much is going to work. Hi fellow travel nerds! Welcome to Restoration RV, a place where we talk about all things renovation, vagabond living, and sustainability. Seems like a broad topic, no? Well, yes, but they all also go hand in hand. I strive to live a life where I take less than I give. To do that, I need to renovate what I have, appreciate what is around, and live a more sustainable life. Give our trailer a listen. Every Wednesday, we will be coming to you from our renovation, from the road, interviewing others, learning about various rigs, or how others are enjoying the vagabond lifestyle.
