Teen anxiety, depression, and self-harm aren't abstract headlines—they're inside our homes. In this direct conversation on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik Chakraborty talks with Jennifer (Jen) Robb—nurse practitioner, author of Warrior Mom Rising, and mom—about recognizing early signals, navigating counselors and crisis moments, and why moms must stop burning out in silence. You'll learn practical first steps (10–15 minute daily self-care, nutrition, sunlight, movement), what effective CBT work really looks like, and how to support your teen without trying to “fix” their pain for them. This is a grounded roadmap for parents who need clarity, not clichés. About the guest : Jennifer Robb is a nurse practitioner, coach, and author of Warrior Mom Rising. Her work equips mothers navigating teen mental-health challenges with practical tools, community, and faith-informed resilience. Learn more at warriormomcoach.net. Key takeaways: Early signs matter: withdrawal from family, loss of interest in loved activities, and isolation can precede deeper struggles—notice patterns, not one-offs. When crisis hits, act fast: medical evaluation, labs, and professional support save lives; follow with a structured care plan. Moms can't pour from empty cups: sustained caregiving without recovery time leads to burnout; schedule 10–15 minutes daily for your own regulation (music, quiet car time, sunlight, short walk). Support, don't “solve”: you can love, encourage, and coordinate care, but your teen must choose to engage in healing; release guilt for not “fixing” it. CBT and trauma work are hard—and effective: guided exposure and skill-building help retrain thought patterns and reduce triggers over time. Hope with discipline: change can take months or years; hold purpose, track small wins, and keep routines simple and repeatable. Community reduces shame: find values-aligned groups (peer moms, faith or secular) that provide practical support and perspective. Model healthy basics: nutrition, sleep, movement, and light exposure support both caregiver and teen nervous systems. Redefine strength: strength is steady presence, clear boundaries, and consistent follow-through—not carrying your child's pain. On this episode of Healthy Waves Podcast, host Sana speaks with healer and guide Mridula Agarwal about how unprocessed emotions manifest as physical illness. From diabetes to thyroid disorders to persistent weight and autoimmune conditions, Mridula explains how emotional wounds—feelings of being unloved, shame, self-blame, or unworthiness—can shape our health in ways medicine often overlooks. Together, they unpack why quick fixes rarely address the root and how real healing begins with awareness, courage, and support. This conversation moves beyond symptoms, offering a framework for reclaiming inner balance and breaking the cycles of dis-ease. About the Guest : Mridula Agarwal is a spiritual teacher and founder of the iReAwake Method, a healing approach that addresses emotional root causes of illness. She works with people across walks of life—from entrepreneurs to homemakers to children—helping them release long-held emotional pain and restore harmony in body and mind. Key Takeaways Emotional patterns like neglect, shame, and feeling unloved can manifest as physical illness (diabetes, thyroid, autoimmune, persistent weight). Many carry weight as protection—against attention, harm, or insecurity—revealing that weight gain can serve unconscious emotional purposes. Autoimmune disorders often link to deep self-blame and inner attack through negative self-talk. Quick fixes may ease pain temporarily, but lasting healing requires addressing root emotions alongside medical treatment. Mental health struggles move in stages: unaddressed confusion → emotional chaos → withdrawal → breakdown. Recognizing thresholds early is key. Culture conditions us to bury emotions, but unprocessed pain seeps into the body, becoming chronic illness if ignored. Healing begins with seeking support, not carrying the burden alone; guidance, energy work, or spiritual practice can be first steps. Dis-ease is not punishment—it is a signal. Healing is not perfection but a gradual unfolding of mind, body, and spirit. On this Healthy Mind, Healthy Life episode, high-performance coach and speaker Brett Eaton unpacks the core idea from his upcoming book, Uncomfortable Either Way: you can choose short-term comfort and live with long-term regret—or choose productive discomfort and earn growth, confidence, and momentum. We dig into comfort traps (like all-or-nothing thinking), fitness-to-life parallels (discipline, consistency, standards), and Brett's mountain challenges—from Mount Washington to the 29029 Everest event—to show how focusing on “the next few steps” beats obsessing over the summit. Direct, practical, and built for action, this conversation gives you a framework to pick the discomfort that moves you forward. About the guest Brett Eaton is a high-performance coach, motivational speaker, and author of Uncomfortable Either Way (releasing September 9). He helps ambitious people replace comfort-driven routines with growth-driven choices through simple, repeatable habits and honest self-assessment. Key takeaways : Discomfort is unavoidable; your power lies in choosing the version that creates growth rather than regret. Comfort often returns as stagnation, “I wish I would have,” and lost time—avoidance doesn't remove discomfort, it only delays it. Fitness is a fair mirror: you get out what you put in. Discipline, reps, and recovery translate directly to career and relationships. Beware the all-or-nothing trap. Early motivation fades; systems, routines, and accountability keep you going when it's not exciting. Productive discomfort isn't 24/7 grind. Pick intentional challenges, recover well, and keep standards high over time. Climb thinking beats summit obsession: control the next steps in front of you and let compounding effort create outcomes. Brutal honesty accelerates change—name where you're letting things slide and close those gaps with specific actions. Identity follows behavior: small daily choices (mornings, inputs, peers) shape who you become. Failure is information. Missed edits, blown deadlines, or tough workouts are feedback loops, not verdicts. Enjoy the climb. The summit is brief; pride comes from the two years of consistent work no one sees. On Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik Chakraborty sits down with Adrienne Caldwell, author of Unbroken: Life Outside the Lines, for a direct conversation about growing up with parental schizophrenia, the realities of trauma, and what resilience actually looks like day-to-day. Without sensationalizing, Adrienne unpacks the stereotypes around schizophrenia, the impact of untreated mental illness on families, and the small steps that move a person from surviving to rebuilding. This episode offers grounded perspective, language that reduces stigma, and practical encouragement for anyone navigating trauma or supporting a loved one—tailored for audiences on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and search. About the Guest : Adrienne Caldwell is the author of Unbroken: Life Outside the Lines. Drawing from lived experience with family members who had schizophrenia and her own journey through adversity, Adrienne speaks candidly about safety, recovery, and the discipline of hope. Key Takeaways: Schizophrenia is widely stereotyped; lived experience shows it as complex and varied, not inherently “dangerous.” Caregiver/child safety planning matters: identify safe adults, spaces, and routines—especially when symptoms like paranoia or isolation appear. Stigma drops when we separate a person's identity from a diagnosis and use precise, respectful language. Recovery is incremental: “one step” at a time creates distance from crisis and opens room for support and treatment. Community protection helps: teachers, relatives, social workers, and neighbors can serve as protective factors when home isn't stable. Trauma has long tails (e.g., anxiety, early depression, attachment challenges); naming it without shame is the start of healing. Boundaries are health tools: limiting volatile contact and seeking professional help can reduce harm. Hope is practical: small daily commitments (sleep, food, movement, therapy adherence, peer support) compound into stability. For loved ones: validate, don't minimize; encourage evaluation and evidence-based care; avoid labels that dehumanize. Content sensitivity: this episode references suicide in a non-instructional, recovery-oriented way; include crisis resources in show descriptions. If you or someone you know is struggling or thinking about suicide, please know you are not alone. In the U.S., dial or text 988 to connect with the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline for free, confidential support, available 24/7. Could This Be the Miracle Breakthrough for PTSD? A Doctor's Personal Story and Treatment. When it comes to trauma and PTSD, countless stories of suffering and survival fill the News, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and podcasts on Apple and Spotify. But one story stands out, not just because of the personal tragedy behind it, but because of the revolutionary hope it brings. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast promoted across their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. Dr. Eugene Lipov, a board-certified anesthesiologist and trauma expert, is changing the way the world understands PTSD, or as he prefers to call it, PTSI (Post-Traumatic Stress Injury). His work introduces a treatment that some have called nothing short of a miracle breakthrough. He is the guest on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast, available for free on their website, on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and most podcast platforms. A Life Marked by Trauma Dr. Lipov's journey began in tragedy. During medical training, while diving in Mexico, he was struck by a boat and nearly bled to death after suffering devastating propeller injuries. “I had an out-of-body experience when I was close to death,” he recalled. That moment of hovering between life and death left a permanent mark. Look for supporting stories about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin . Just a year later, his mother died by suicide. That profound loss shook his family and became another defining wound. “The impact of that was life-altering,” Dr. Lipov has shared. It was through these events and a growing awareness of his own PTSD that he began to search for new answers. Could This Be the Miracle Breakthrough for PTSD? A Doctor's Personal Story and Treatment. From Personal Loss to Medical Innovation Rather than simply endure his trauma, Dr. Lipov turned it into a driving force for discovery. He pioneered the use of the Stellate Ganglion Block (SGB), a simple nerve block called “The God Shot.” Unlike conventional therapies that often focus on managing symptoms, this treatment aims to reset the brain's overactive fight-or-flight response instantly. Available for free on their website and streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other podcast platforms. “Advanced brain scans show trauma leaves physical scars on the brain,” Dr. Lipov explains. “If it's a biological injury, it means it can heal.” The procedure has already transformed lives, from Navy SEALs and first responders to survivors of abuse and burnout. Patients report an almost immediate sense of calm, describing it as a return to themselves after years of chaos. Could This Be the Miracle Breakthrough for PTSD? The Book That Could Change Everything In his upcoming book, The God Shot: Healing Trauma's Legacy, co-authored with Lauren Ungeldi and set for release on February 17, 2026, Dr. Lipov dismantles the myths surrounding trauma. Instead of viewing PTSD as a mental weakness, he presents it as a treatable injury with a biology-based solution. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast episode is available for free on their website , Apple Podcasts , Spotify and most major podcast platforms. “The era of managing trauma is over,” he writes. “The age of hope and healing has begun.” The book introduces readers to the science, the stories, and the solution, offering not just coping strategies, but the possibility of full recovery. Beyond the Page: Expanding the Movement Dr. Lipov has also authored The Invisible Machine and Exit Strategy for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Both works further highlight how SGB has the potential to revolutionize trauma care. These books blend medical insights with deeply personal narratives, ensuring that both professionals and trauma survivors can connect with the material. Could This Be the Miracle Breakthrough for PTSD? A Doctor's Personal Story and Treatment. The full podcast episode is streaming now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. But his advocacy doesn't stop with books. Through his interview on The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and podcast, available on their website, also on Apple, Spotify, and social platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, he shares the science and stories behind the treatment with a wider audience. From Science to Culture To bridge the gap between medicine and culture, Dr. Lipov collaborated on It's PTSI, a poetic musical project with award-winning artist Chase Bell. Together with Jen Satterly, CEO of the All Secure Foundation, they are reframing trauma as an injury that can be healed rather than a permanent scar. The All Secure Foundation, co-founded by Jen and retired Special Operations warrior Tom Satterly, provides critical resources for combat veterans and their families. From retreats to workshops, they help warriors move from Post-Traumatic Stress to Post-Traumatic Growth, amplifying the very mission Dr. Lipov has devoted his career to. His story resonates across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and beyond. Could This Be the Miracle Breakthrough? For too long, trauma survivors have been told that PTSD is a life sentence. Dr. Lipov's work challenges that narrative, showing that trauma is an injury, and injuries can heal. Could This Be the Miracle Breakthrough for PTSD? His personal story, surviving near-death, losing his mother, and living with his own trauma, fuels his drive to ensure others don't suffer in silence. And with "The God Shot" now poised to reach readers worldwide, the conversation around PTSD may be on the verge of its biggest transformation yet. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast promoted across their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. As Dr. Lipov's groundbreaking research and personal journey spread across News outlets, social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, and through podcasts on Apple and Spotify, the world is asking the same question: Could This Be the Miracle Breakthrough for PTSD? You can contact John J. “Jay” Wiley by email at Jay@letradio.com , or learn more about him on their website . Burnout isn't always about “too much work.” In this Healthy Mind, Healthy Life episode, leadership advisor and former Nike executive Nick Montalbine breaks down three overlooked forms of burnout—overload, under-challenged, and neglect—and explains why misalignment and weak feedback loops quietly drain teams. We dig into early signals (withdrawal, sharper tone, Sunday dread), how continuous listening beats annual surveys, and a practical 90-day challenge any company can run to rebuild trust and retention. Direct, useful, and built for leaders and contributors who want healthier performance without the hustle myth. Guest: Nick Montalbine. About the Guest Nick Montalbine is a leadership advisor, former Nike executive, and founder of Inner Voice Analytics. He helps organizations detect cultural cracks early through behavioral signals, ongoing listening, and actionable data—so people stay energized, seen, and productive. Key Takeaways Burnout has three types: overload (too much), under-challenged (bored/misaligned), and neglect (helplessness). A “dream job” can still burn you out if it doesn't light you up or fit your strengths. Observable leader cues: withdrawal from collaboration, sharper tone, reduced stretch-taking, rising irritability. Self-signals: concentration slips, short-term memory lapses, insomnia (e.g., waking at the same time nightly), and Sunday dread. Culture accelerators of burnout: infrequent surveys, slow action on feedback, and failure to reach team-level issues. Move from annual/pulse surveys to continuous listening mapped to the employee lifecycle (apply → onboard → grow → exit). Use people data (e.g., turnover patterns) to find “smoke” and intervene before fires start. If you have one lever, pull trust through action: run focused listening sessions, ship quick wins, and communicate progress. 90-day challenge: ask 7–10 sharp questions (value, career mobility, meaning/strategy link), separate short- vs. long-term fixes, and show weekly momentum. Personal alignment isn't fluffy; it's a performance driver and a retention moat. On Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik Chakraborty sits down with Julie Alsaker, founder of Lux Bioanalytics and holistic genetic specialist, to unpack how nutrigenomics, methylation pathways, and nervous system regulation shape clarity, energy, and resilience. We move beyond generic wellness advice to explore DNA-informed strategies for burnout, brain fog, and “doing everything right” yet still feeling off. If you've wondered why breathwork, journaling, or clean eating sometimes stall, this episode shows how aligning biology with belief and behavior can create practical, measurable change. About the guest : Julie Alsaker is a holistic genetic specialist with 25+ years in alternative health. Through Lux Bioanalytics, she integrates DNA insights, functional blood analysis, and nutrition to help clients—from bedridden patients to high performers—identify root causes and build sustainable, personalized protocols. Key takeaways: Genetics is strategy, not destiny: DNA reveals tendencies; choices and environments shape outcomes. Nutrigenomics > one-size-fits-all: Diet, stress tools, and routines work best when calibrated to your genetic blueprint. Methylation matters: Variants across 13+ genes (e.g., MTHFR, MTR/MTRR, CBS, COMT) can limit energy access; nutrient form/amount can be the unlock. Biology sets the ceiling: Ignoring physiology (gut, immune, detox pathways) caps results from mindset and mindfulness work. Parasympathetic is where healing happens: Your body repairs when it feels safe; resilience includes nervous system retraining. Symptoms are data, not destiny: Don't normalize persistent brain fog, poor sleep, or “just getting older.” Track and investigate. Gut–brain loop: >70% of serotonin is produced in the gut; microbiome balance influences mood and motivation. Test, then tailor: DNA plus detailed bloodwork narrows root causes and informs targeted, safe interventions. Language shapes physiology: Identity and words matter—reframing fear can reduce stress chemistry and support healing. Start simple: Practice “grounded awareness”—honest symptom logging—before adding protocols or supplements. What happens when three podcasts hosts—guided by synchronicity, soul contracts, and the really big energy of Spirit—sit down together with an open mic and open hearts? Magic. In this joint episode of Feel Good Always and Medium Curious, Becky Bradley, Jane Morgan, and Sarah Rathke explore the extraordinary journey of love through grief, surrender, and awakening. Becky shares how the passing of her daughter Keira became not an ending, but an activation: a call to embody love, to release fear, and to trust the orchestration of Spirit. This episode isn't just a conversation; it's a TRANSMISSION. Listen in and feel the frequency of love move through your own body. As Becky reminds us: it is done. Together we talk about: Synchronicities and signs — from ladybugs to sunflowers to repeating number Surrender and fear — how to recognize what's yours and what belongs to the collective Redefining “death” — and experiencing the ongoing presence of our loved ones Holding the field — what it means to anchor love in turbulent times Embodiment of truth — why ascension isn't abstract, but a lived human experience Key Takeaways: Signs from Spirit can appear everywhere — numbers, animals, even broken microphones Fear is not always yours; learning to discern collective energy is key Surrender is a practice that opens the door to peace, even in unimaginable loss “Death” is not the end — love and connection continue beyond the veil Holding the field of love is a choice and a powerful act of collective healing Feel Good Always Apple Podcasts Feel Good Always Instagram Medium Curious Substack Medium Curious Website: MediumCurious Jane's Website: Jane Morgan Medium Sarah's Website: Sarah Rathke Podcast Instagram: @MediumCuriousPod YouTube: @mediumcurious
On this episode of Healthy Waves with host Avik, spiritual architect Reginald Martin breaks down how negative religious conditioning (“I am broken,” “I am a sinner”) quietly shapes self-worth, health, and relationships long after leaving organized religion. Drawing from Kemetic metaphysics and practical psychology, Reginald explains why identity frames matter, how “paradoxical HEKA” can recalibrate your energy, and what spiritual sovereignty looks like day-to-day—living authentically, unapologetically, and on your terms without guilt or shame. If you've felt spiritually “homeless” after deconstruction, this conversation offers a clear path to reconstruct your inner architecture and live aligned. About the guest: Reginald Martin is a spiritual architect, metaphysician, and creator of Kametaphysics, a framework blending ancient Kemetic wisdom with modern psychological insight to help people heal subconscious programming and reclaim sovereign, guilt-free lives. Key takeaways : Harmful religious frames can become identity lenses that fuel shame, self-doubt, and chronic misalignment even after leaving religion. From a Kemetic lens, you are born divine, not broken; reframing identity changes the “soil” in which your life-seeds grow. Paradoxical HEKA: honor the signal of pain or imbalance (“I've suppressed my creativity”) while simultaneously affirming divinity and capacity (“and I still create”). This paradox prompts energetic recalibration. Chronic negative beliefs distort the energetic field; restoring balance supports mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Deconstruction is not the destination; reconstruction—mind, body, and soul in balance—is the work that ends spiritual limbo. Spiritual sovereignty means living authentically on your terms, shifting from external to internal locus of control. A simple daily practice: use breath + precise language to speak paradoxical truths that re-encode the subconscious. Use an emotional barometer: feeling good signals alignment; feeling bad flags misalignment and invites a gentle course-correct. Leaders, creators, and parents model sovereignty by embodying clear standards rooted in inner alignment, not external approval. Freedom doesn't reject spirituality; it reclaims it—without shame, with responsibility. On this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik speaks with Joni Marie Iraci—a registered nurse turned award-winning novelist—about late-life reinvention, earning an MFA in her 60s, and the craft behind her thriller Vatican Daughter. Joni breaks down how life experience fuels better storytelling, why continuing education can restart a creative career, and how rigorous research (including miles of walking Rome) elevates fiction. We also discuss mindset shifts from “victim” to “survivor,” practical marketing realities for authors, and how to keep your brain—and courage—active at any age. This is a direct, no-fluff playbook for midlife career change, creative discipline, and purpose. About the guest: Joni Marie Iraci is an author and former registered nurse who returned to college later in life, graduated from Sarah Lawrence, and earned an MFA in Creative Writing from Columbia University. She writes page-turning, research-rich fiction centered on resilient women, including Vatican Daughter. Key takeaways: It's not “too late”: returning to school and embracing new work in your 50s–60s can accelerate creative growth. Leverage lived experience—humor, perspective, and resilience—to write more authentic stories. Practical path: continuing-education programs, steady writing practice, and peer feedback (younger peers can also help with tech). Research that breathes: site walks in Rome/Venice and primary-source study make settings feel real. Fact in fiction: historical events (e.g., 19th-century papal kidnappings) can inform compelling plots when handled responsibly. Craft note: give readers “reprieve scenes” (food, place, texture) to balance thriller intensity. Marketing is work: social media, endorsements, and reader outreach are part of an author's job. Mindset shift: write women who survive, not women defined by victimhood. Community matters: mentorship for emerging writers and asking boldly (blurbs, intros) opens doors. Cognitive wellness: keep learning, reading, and creating to sustain a sharp, purposeful mind. How to connect with Joni Website/contact form: Joni mentioned listeners can reach her via the contact page on her official author website - https://www.jonimarieiraci.com/ (search “Joni Marie Iraci” to find it). Hey listeners... So, last weekend we had the privilege and the honor of recording from this year's Dark Arts Festival. This time the festival took place at RISD (the venerated Rhode Island School of Design). Brought to you by our good friend (and Friend of the Show), Josh Dahlin of The Horror Depot...the festival brought together, vendors, artists, authors, side-show performers, drag queens, oddities, and much much more in an all-inclusive and diverse space to celebrate the weird and wonderful world of horror, creativity and community. We were fortunate enough to get to talk to film-makers, paranormal investigators, artists and performers. It was a rainy and miserable late-summer New England day but, all that rain certainly didn't dampen anyone's spirits as we, and everyone else had a helluva lot of fun and you can check it all out by listening in ths very episode!

On Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik Chakraborty digs into what really happens after you step away from the career you spent decades building. Guest Jack Calhoun, Founder & President of Encore Career Lab, explains why financial freedom alone doesn't equal fulfillment, how identity loss creeps in post-exit, and how to build an intentional second act that blends purpose, autonomy, and meaningful impact. We cover the pitfalls of the “endless vacation” myth, the value of structure and accountability, and practical steps to map your encore path—so you don't drift, but design. Optimized for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn search: encore career, post-retirement purpose, second act career, identity after work, purposeful retirement, midlife reinvention, career transition coaching. About the guest Jack Calhoun grew a wealth-management firm from $50M to $1.5B AUM, exited in his early 50s, and learned firsthand that money planning isn't life planning. Through Encore Career Lab, he helps high-achieving professionals craft mission-driven “encore” careers that use their unique abilities, wisdom, and autonomy. Key takeaways Retirement as “endless vacation” wears thin; purpose, structure, and community sustain wellbeing. Identity loss post-career is common; plan for purpose as intentionally as you plan finances. Design your encore around autonomy: what you do, for whom, where, and how. Mine your lived experience (“what I know now that I wish I knew then”) into advisory, coaching, or consulting offers. Don't jump into low-fit ventures; pressure-test ideas with a clear framework before committing capital. Purposeful work in midlife can be both fulfilling and lucrative—scale is a choice. Future-proof now: build skills, relationships, and small pilots before your exit. On this Healthy Mind, Healthy Life episode, host Avik Chakraborty speaks with Australian health and fitness expert Heath Jones—founder of Active & Ageless Fitness Centers—about building resilience through disciplined daily habits. Drawing from 20+ years of chronic back pain and three spinal surgeries, Heath explains how micro-routines, structured goals, and community help people (especially over 50) move better, feel better, and live fully. We cover the first steps when you feel stuck, how to sustain momentum, and why “movement, mindset, and community are the medicine.” Optimized for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn search, this talk offers practical, no-hype strategies for pain management, healthy aging, and consistency. About the guest: Heath Jones is an Australian health and fitness professional focused on the 50+ community. A former registered nurse, exercise scientist, personal trainer, and infantry soldier, he founded Active & Ageless Fitness Centers to help people regain strength, mobility, and confidence—regardless of age or history of pain. Key takeaways : Start tiny: your “first step” can be a 10-minute walk; add small increments daily to build a sustainable habit. Discipline = structure: plan tomorrow tonight; lock in 2–3 priorities; schedule movement, hydration, sleep, and meals. Move on hard days: gentle mobility and light walking reduce catastrophizing and often ease pain better than bed rest. Consistency beats intensity: in the first 6–8 weeks, focus on showing up rather than “maxing out.” Momentum comes from goals: write specific goals (carry groceries, play with grandkids, surf again) and review them on off days. Progress ≠ perfection: hitting 60–70% of your plan consistently compounds results without burnout. Community matters: coaching and supportive groups keep you accountable and prevent overexertion early on. Lived experience builds trust: Heath's path through chronic pain informs practical coaching for real-world constraints. On Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Avik Chakraborty talks with David L Cary, author of The Well Chronicles—including Maria's Shadow and The Veil Strikes. We unpack why he writes fast-paced, clean thrillers rooted in faith, justice, and resilience, how he portrays human trafficking without graphic detail, and why Book 3 aims for a decisive “good wins” conclusion. A direct conversation for readers who want suspense without explicit content, and for creators navigating moral stakes, hope, and responsible storytelling. About the Guest David L Cary is the author of The Well Chronicles, a clean-thriller series blending high-octane action with themes of faith, courage, and justice. His novels—Maria's Shadow and The Veil Strikes—confront trafficking and systemic corruption while avoiding graphic content. He's currently finishing Book 3. Find him as DLCary on Goodreads, and “David L Cary” on Amazon and Facebook. Key Takeaways: Clean doesn't mean dull: Cary proves you can deliver Hollywood-pace suspense without profanity, graphic sex, or gore—and still keep readers turning pages. Ethical storytelling:Maria's Shadow addresses human trafficking with sensitivity—no explicit scenes—inviting reflection without retraumatization. Violence with restraint: Characters face real danger and death, but graphic depictions are omitted, preserving intensity and accessibility for broader audiences. Faith as framework: Cary's worldview centers grace over greed and the conviction that hope matters, even when darkness is real. From headlines to fiction:The Veil Strikes mirrors contemporary concerns—blackmail, shadow groups, institutional rot—while staying fictional and responsibly framed. Reader imagination > shock value: Suggestion and context let readers grasp stakes without explicit content, aligning with platform standards. Series arc with closure: Book 3 aims for an uncommon choice in political thrillers: accountability and resolution, not a cover-up. Why this matters: For viewers seeking faith-aligned, socially aware fiction, Cary models how to write page-turners that respect boundaries and still challenge systems. Police and Firefighters, Trauma and Recovery. From Demons to Angels: A Georgia First Responder's Journey Through Trauma, PTSD, and Recovery. Dennis Pishock served his community in Georgia with dedication and courage, first as a firefighter, then as a police officer. His career placed him on the front lines of some of the most traumatic moments imaginable, from heartbreaking drownings to violent crime scenes. He is the guest on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast, available for free on their website, on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and most podcast platforms. Through it all, he carried the weight of the experiences, often silently, until he realized that recovery was possible and necessary. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast promoted across their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. “After thousands of traumatic calls and seeing friends and families fall apart, I knew I had to start telling my story,” Pishock shared. “I want others to know that recovery is possible, even when you're still serving on the front lines.” Look for supporting stories about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin . The Traumas Behind the Badge One of the defining moments of Pishock's career came while serving as a firefighter in the Atlanta suburbs. His swift water rescue team was called to a river where an 8-year-old girl had gone missing while tubing. The girl's body was eventually discovered trapped beneath a submerged tree. “Even though she was right there, just below the surface, we couldn't get to her because of the current,” Pishock recalled. “That moment stayed with me for years.” Police and Firefighters, Trauma and Recovery. Available for free on their website and streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other podcast platforms. The trauma intensified when he learned that one of his teammates, who had a young daughter also tubing that day, initially feared the girl was his own child. Thankfully, it wasn't, but the tragedy was no less devastating. These experiences compounded with countless other traumatic calls. Pishock thought he had processed them, but the emotional toll followed him when he transitioned from firefighting to policing. Police and Firefighters: Different Uniforms, Same Demons The shift from fire service to law enforcement is unusual, but for Pishock, it was a continuation of his call to serve. However, as a police officer in Georgia, he faced even more trauma, shootings, violent incidents, and deaths that left invisible scars. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast episode is available for free on their website , Apple Podcasts , Spotify and most major podcast platforms. “My family life began to fall apart,” he admitted. “I didn't recognize how much the job had changed me until I went to Peer Support Training. That's when I finally realized, I needed help.” The wake-up call came after learning about the suicides of several close friends, all fellow first responders. It was a turning point that pushed him toward recovery. Police and Firefighters, Trauma and Recovery. Facing Demons, Finding Angels In his book Demons & Angels, Pishock documents his most personal battles and the lessons he has learned along the way. The book, available across social platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and discussed on podcasts across Apple and Spotify, is not just about his own survival, it's a guide for others. “This book isn't just for me,” Pishock explained. “It's for every police officer, firefighter, and military member who has spent sleepless nights wrestling with trauma. It's for anyone who has chosen to serve America and knows the cost that comes with it.” The full podcast episode is streaming now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. He describes the brotherhood shared among those who wear the badge or the uniform, comparing it to the camaraderie found in military service. “Servitude is where it's at,” he said. “To those who serve, I love you. To those who don't understand, you'll never truly get what you've missed.” Understanding PTSD in First Responders Pishock's story highlights the reality that many first responders in America face, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Research shows that between 10% and 35% of police and firefighters develop PTSD, a rate far higher than the general population. Police and Firefighters, Trauma and Recovery. PTSD alters the brain's function: Hippocampus: shrinks, impairing memory and learning. Amygdala: becomes hyperactive, intensifying fear and emotional responses. Prefrontal cortex: weakens, reducing the ability to regulate those emotions. The symptoms are wide-ranging, intrusive memories, nightmares, flashbacks, detachment from loved ones, emotional numbness, hypervigilance, and sometimes destructive behaviors. His story resonates across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and beyond. “Most people don't realize that PTSD isn't just about war,” Pishock noted. “It's about the accumulation of traumas, what we see, what we experience, and even what we can't change.” The Road to Recovery Recovery, Pishock stresses, is not an overnight transformation but a journey. It sometimes requires professional help, and strong social support networks. Pishock also emphasizes peer support as a lifeline: “Talking to someone who has been there, who truly understands, can make the difference between holding on and giving up.” The stages of recovery often move from acute struggles to gradual stability, and eventually to a place where individuals can regain control over their lives. His message for first responders in Georgia, across America, and beyond is clear: “Don't wait until it's too late. PTSD is real, but recovery is possible. You are not alone.” Police and Firefighters, Trauma and Recovery. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast promoted across their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. A Journey Shared Through Book and Social With Demons & Angels, Pishock is offering more than a book. He's opening the door for conversations on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, while expanding the discussion to podcasts on Apple and Spotify. His journey reflects the resilience of police officers, firefighters, and military personnel who continue to battle trauma while striving for recovery. Through his story, Pishock hopes to shine a light in the darkest places, reminding others that even when demons are loud, angels can still be found. High-achieving and still 30% happy at work? In this Healthy Mind, Healthy Life episode, career coach and therapist Rachel Spekman unpacks why smart professionals stay in roles they secretly hate—status, salary, identity—and how to exit without chaos. We cover permission to want more, navigating identity shifts, handling judgment, and practical, income-safe pivots (including fractional work). Direct, actionable, SEO-friendly guidance for YouTube/Facebook/Instagram/LinkedIn audiences who want purpose, alignment, and sustainable earnings—without burning their careers to the ground. Guest: Rachel Spekman. About the guest Rachel Spekman is a career coach and licensed therapist specializing in identity transformations and vocational alignment. After 15 years in brand marketing, 10 years with startups, and 5 years as a therapist, she helps professionals move from soul-sucking roles into work that matches values, strengths, and desired income. Key takeaways Start with permission: ask, “Am I allowed to want something different?” Then imagine alternatives before acting. Define “achievement” for yourself—not for LinkedIn, bosses, or family. Success must map to your values. Expect value shifts: life events (loss, mental health, family) change what “fits.” A once-great job can become misaligned. Measure reality: honestly rate your work happiness out of 100. If you're at ~30%, plan a directional change. Aim for 80% satisfaction by moving 1–2% at a time; small, consistent improvements compound. Choose your problems: invest your “three Ts” (time, talent, treasure) where you want to solve challenges. Identity work matters: manage the ego when titles change; treat everyone with integrity—today's intern can be tomorrow's boss. Build safe bridges: don't jump without a plan. Most realignments take 6–12 months with clear milestones. Consider fractional work: package your expertise for multiple clients to increase autonomy and earnings. Realignment isn't always promotion; a “lateral” or even “demotion” can be a values-aligned win. This week on Grumpy Old Geeks, we're diving headfirst into the digital dumpster fire, starting with follow-up that will make you wonder if the rich are finally getting their comeuppance. It seems Tesla's market share is plummeting, and Elon Musk has been unceremoniously knocked off as the world's wealthiest person. Meanwhile, OpenAI and Microsoft are flirting with new partnership terms, and OpenAI is also reportedly cozying up with Oracle for a cloud computing deal. Are they figuring it all out or just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic? You decide. In the news, it's a feast of AI-induced chaos. Anthropic attempted to settle a copyright lawsuit for $1.5 billion, but a judge rejected it. Apple faces scrutiny for allegedly using pirated books to train AI (because who needs original ideas when you can just steal them?), and everyone from Reddit to Yahoo is rushing to get paid for their data being scraped by AI. Google even admits that the open web is struggling, while pushing ads into AI-generated answers and trying to convince us that DOGE never existed. Meanwhile, millions of YouTube videos have been copied by AI companies—because why create when you can just steal? Not to mention, The Boring Company reportedly stopped tunneling after a "crushing injury" (ironic, huh?), Zuckerberg and Palmer Luckey are teaming up again like a disastrous boy band for military-grade goggles, and Meta whistleblowers are exposing child safety issues. Plus, a hot mic caught Zuck groveling to Trump—the cringe is real. And if that wasn't enough, it turns out AI usage is actually declining at big companies, and programmers using AI are creating more security risks than a screen door on a submarine. It's almost like we saw this coming. For your Media Candy fix, get ready for a dose of existential dread. The MTV Video Music Awards are still happening in 2025, with a median viewer age of 56—because nothing screams "youth culture" like osteoporosis. We'll wonder if Wednesday (aka Charlie Sheen) is still winning and discuss Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. Amazon Music is launching AI-powered playlists (because who needs a human DJ when you can have an algorithm that thinks it knows your soul?), and Deezer claims 28% of all new music is AI-generated. Taika Waititi is developing a "potentially disastrous" Fyre Fest musical (we're excited!), Foundation is renewed for season 4, and the HBO Max CEO thinks it's "way underpriced"—bless his heart. Plus, more Highlander reboot news that will probably disappoint, and a look at The Missi & Brooke Show and The Traitors Ireland. Finally, in Apps & Doodads, bad news for AirPods Live Translation in the EU, Evernote and WeTransfer's owner is buying Vimeo, and you need this pettable Poké Ball Tamagotchi-style toy. In The Dark Side with Dave, we'll discuss The Princess Bride, how tariffs are ruining hobbies, and who wants "slop for their ears." This episode shows that some things never change, and most things are just getting worse. Next Level Soul with Alex Ferrari: A Spirituality & Personal Growth Podcast
On today's episode, we welcome the remarkable Carol Collins, a dynamic and insightful channeler and medium. Carol, often referred to as America's Medium, bridges the gap between the physical and non-physical realms, bringing through teachings from a collective of non-physical beings known as "The Teachers." Her journey from a structured, logical career in IT and the military to the fluid, intuitive world of channeling is nothing short of extraordinary. Carol's early life was deeply rooted in structure and discipline. As a former Marine and a professional in the Department of Defense, she thrived in environments that valued precision and order. However, a significant personal upheaval in her mid-forties led her to explore deeper, more esoteric realms of existence. "I had what everybody had at some point—a mid-life crisis," she recalls. It was during this period of introspection and isolation that Carol's intuitive abilities began to surface, leading her down an unexpected path. Carol's first profound spiritual encounter came through a serendipitous experience with a video of Esther Hicks channeling Abraham. "Within that 15 minutes, the whole front of my chest became warm, and it was like this vibration," she shares. This experience ignited a curiosity and a deep sense of connection that guided her towards a daily practice of meditation. Over the next nine months, her intuitive abilities blossomed, eventually leading to her first channeled messages. In her role as a channeler, Carol brings forth teachings that cover a wide array of spiritual topics. These teachings are organized into what she refers to as the "Four Pillars of Learning": conscious life and the purpose of physical existence, the law of attraction and thought creation, using source frequency to heal, and intuitive development. These pillars form the foundation of her work, offering a comprehensive roadmap for spiritual growth and self-healing.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/next-level-soul-podcast-with-alex-ferrari--4858435/support.
Out in the remote villages of South Korea, Indonesia, and Thailand, belief isn't just tradition—it's infrastructure. In this month's episode of Sitting in the Dark, guest host Andy Nelson takes Pete Wright, Tommy Metz III, and Kynan Dias on a journey into three modern horror films that weaponize spiritual legacy: The Wailing (2016), Impetigore (2019), and The Medium (2021). Each film presents a different lens on the collision between folk belief and contemporary life, and none of them offers easy answers. The panel dives deep into the disorienting tone shifts of The Wailing, where slapstick cops and demonic rituals clash with devastating consequences. They unpack the haunting beauty and brutal tradition behind Impetigore, a film that begins in a toll booth and ends in generational damnation. And The Medium, with its immersive mockumentary format, challenges our understanding of family, fate, and whether gods actually have your best interests at heart. What unites these films? An unnerving thesis: belief might not protect you—it might damn you. These aren't stories of good versus evil. They're stories about what happens when spiritual systems—old and new, global and local—overlap and collapse. And in the end, maybe the most terrifying realization is that all these spirits, deities, and curses… simply don't care what you believe.Join us this month as we stare into the spiritual void, question the value of ritual, and contemplate the horror of legacy itself.Film SundriesThe List on LetterboxdWatch the movies discussed:The Wailing: Apple • Amazon • LetterboxdImpetigore: Apple • Amazon • LetterboxdThe Medium: Apple • Amazon • Letterboxd (00:00) - Welcome to Sitting in the Dark (02:19) - Asian Horror with Andy! In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Sana sits down with Jason VanDevere, entrepreneur, author of Dream Driven, and founder of GoalCrazy. Jason shares his story of walking away from a multi-million dollar family business to build his own path with just a vision, a journal, and relentless persistence. From selling over 40,000 planners to creating multiple income streams and now publishing his upcoming book, Jason opens up about the mental, emotional, and practical side of entrepreneurship. This conversation goes beyond success stories—it's about protecting mental health, finding balance, setting boundaries, and fueling your business with passion and systems that work. Whether you're in your first launch or scaling your fifth year, Jason's insights will help you design a business that supports your life not overtakes it. About the Guest Jason VanDevere is an entrepreneur, podcast host, and creator of the GoalCrazy Planner. He has built a seven-figure business from scratch, manages a thriving real estate portfolio, and coaches others on designing a life that aligns with their deepest dreams. His new book, Dream Driven (launching September 9, 2025), guides readers through clarifying their vision and building businesses that make their dream lifestyles possible. Website: goalcrazy.comBook: Dream Driven (available September 9, 2025, on Amazon) Key Takeaways Balance is possible in entrepreneurship if you design your business around your desired lifestyle—not the other way around. Clarity of vision helps push through fear, doubt, and financial struggles in the early years. Dreams give goals meaning; without dreams, entrepreneurs often end up in “survival mode.” Journaling can help unload fears, clarify thoughts, and keep the mind available for focused work. Taking regular “mindset days” (full days off during the week) prevents burnout and sparks creativity. Passion fuels persistence, but systems and practical strategies make long-term success possible. Boundaries—like timers and fixed work hours—protect mental health and family life. Family commitments can drive productivity by limiting wasted time and forcing focus on high-value activities. Success isn't about building the biggest business; it's about building the life your business fits into. In this episode of Healthy Waves, host Avik Chakraborty sits down with Patty Durell, founder of Rock Solid Fitness, and Daniel Hartshorn, co-founder of Flowgreens and ScentXpresso, to explore how technology, aromatherapy, and strength training are reshaping wellness in a high-stress, tech-driven world. From smart showers that transform daily routines into mindful rituals, to efficient resistance training that rebuilds energy and confidence for women in midlife, this conversation challenges outdated health myths and reframes what vitality truly looks like. Whether you're feeling stuck in burnout, curious about tech-powered healing, or seeking strength without overtraining, this episode offers practical, science-backed insights you can apply today. About the Guests Patty Durell is a strength training expert and the creator of High Intensity SAFE™ Strength Training, a proven method that helps high-performing women regain strength, energy, and confidence with just two 25-minute sessions a week. She is also the founder of Rock Solid Fitness. Daniel Hartshorn is an entrepreneur and co-founder of ScentXpresso, a wellness technology company creating spa-like aromatherapy shower experiences to combat stress and burnout. With a background in scaling tech startups, Daniel now focuses on human-centered innovation for health and well-being. Key Takeaways Strength training is not about doing more but about doing enough—properly applied resistance builds both physical and mental resilience. Many midlife women avoid lifting weights due to myths about injury or “bulking up,” but real results come from heavy resistance done safely. Smart aromatherapy rituals, such as Daniel's ScentXpresso, turn overlooked moments like a shower into powerful anchors for relaxation and mental reset. Scent is a primal sensory trigger tied to memory and emotion—using it intentionally can reduce stress and promote emotional stability. Rituals and boundaries—like nature walks, hugs, family breakfasts, or mindful exercise—help root us in balance amidst digital overload. Resistance training improves sleep, mood, hormonal balance, and self-worth, especially for women navigating menopause and midlife challenges. Both guests stress the importance of cultural reset: midlife is not “old age,” but an opportunity to strengthen body, mind, and daily habits. Wellness technology's future lies in combining hard data (like heart rate and blood pressure) with personal experiences of well-being for truly personalized care. Police Shooting Myths Shattered: From His Own Story. Special Episode. When it comes to policing in America, myths often dominate the public conversation. Many believe law enforcement officers are “trigger happy,” quick to fire their weapons at the first sign of danger. Others assume that trauma only takes its toll after decades in uniform. But as former Roswell, Georgia police officer John Saporsky explains, both assumptions couldn't be further from the truth. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast promoted across their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms. In a candid conversation shared on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and streaming on Apple and Spotify, Saporsky speaks openly about the Police Shooting Myths Shattered, From His Own Story. His journey highlights the danger, recovery, career, and experience that shaped his life both in and beyond law enforcement. He is the guest on the Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast, available for free on their website, on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and most podcast platforms. Early Career and Trauma in Georgia “People think trauma comes late in a career, but mine started early,” Saporsky says. As a young officer with the Roswell Police Department in Georgia, he faced situations that most officers never experience in their entire careers. From a near-death experience in a traffic accident involving a stolen police car to brake failure in a high-speed pursuit, Saporsky's early days in uniform were filled with life-threatening moments. Look for supporting stories about this and much more from Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast in platforms like Medium , Blogspot and Linkedin . He recalls a terrifying incident with brake fade, a dangerous reduction in braking ability caused by overheating. “When the brakes failed, it could have been fatal. Those are the moments the public never sees,” he explains. Police Shooting Myths Shattered: From His Own Story. Special Episode. And then there were the shootings. Saporsky was directly involved in critical incidents that tested his judgment and courage. Research from the National Police Foundation underscores just how rare such experiences are. In a study of 1,006 police shootings across 47 departments, four out of five officers had never fired their weapons in the line of duty before. Saporsky's encounters placed him in the small percentage who had. Available for free on their website and streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other podcast platforms. Shattering Police Shooting Myths Saporsky emphasizes that officers are not eager to use deadly force. “Most of us hope we'll never have to fire our weapon,” he says. “When it does happen, it changes you forever.” By sharing his story, he aims to dismantle the stereotype that police officers are reckless or insensitive in dangerous situations. Instead, he highlights the human side of danger and recovery—the side the public rarely hears about in the evening news or viral social media debates. Life After Policing After years of service, Saporsky decided to transition out of law enforcement. But stepping away from the badge wasn't simple. “Leaving the profession can feel like losing your identity,” he reflects. Police Shooting Myths Shattered: From His Own Story. The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast episode is available for free on their website , Apple Podcasts , Spotify and most major podcast platforms. That personal struggle led him to create Law Enforcement Connect LLC in 2021, a platform designed to help officers transition into civilian life and new careers. “Like military veterans, law enforcement professionals face unique challenges. They need guidance, resources, and a community that understands,” Saporsky says. Through interviews with veterans, business leaders, psychologists, and researchers, Saporsky developed a framework for career transition that goes beyond simple job searches. His mission is to coach, mentor, and connect officers who are moving from service to civilian life. Roswell Police Department's Legacy Saporsky credits much of his professional foundation to his time with the Roswell Police Department, which is known for its focus on community policing and public safety. With a population of nearly 93,000, Roswell is one of Georgia's safest cities and continues to embrace the principles of 21st Century Policing and Procedural Justice. The full podcast episode is streaming now on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. “The men and women I served with were dedicated, professional, and deeply committed to the community,” Saporsky notes. “I'll always carry those lessons with me.” Police Shooting Myths Shattered: From His Own Story. From Trauma to Purpose Today, Saporsky uses his platform to speak openly about his experiences and to encourage others to do the same. His story resonates across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and beyond. “Police officers don't just need to survive the dangers of the job,” he says. “They need to thrive after it. That's why I share my story, because myths need to be shattered, and real stories need to be heard.” The Law Enforcement Talk Radio Show and Podcast promoted across their Facebook , Instagram , LinkedIn , Medium and other social media platforms.
