And there are strong opinions on both sides.So this podcast covers the pros and cons of both modes of travel to help you decide what is best for you and what you prefer!

Früher begann die Urlaubsplanung mit Sehnsucht. Nach Sonne, Meer oder einfach einem Ort, an dem niemand fragt, ob man „kurz noch in diesen Call springen“ kann. Dann kam das Internet und machte aus Sehnsucht eine Suchmaske. Also, wenn man nicht zu den Nostalgikern zählt, die nach wie vor denken, eine gute Expedienten-Beratung im Reisebüro ist das Beste, was mir als Urlauber passieren kann.. Also mussten wir Formulare bedienen, um ans Meer zu kommen: Reisedatum, Zimmerkategorie, Transferwunsch, Haustier. Wer bloß eingab: „Ich will irgendwohin, wo es warm ist und die Kinder nicht nach drei Stunden durchdrehen“, galt im System als Störfall. Aber auch diese Ära endet gerade. Künstliche Intelligenz bricht die Reisebuchung um. Aus der starren Suche wird ein Gespräch, aus der Liste mit 1.743 Treffern ein konkreter Vorschlag. Die Maschine lernt, was wir meinen Der Unterschied zu früher: KI verarbeitet keine Schlagwörter mehr, sie erkennt Absichten. Wer heute tippt: „Wir wollen im Sommer mit den Kindern und dem Hund an den Strand“, füttert ein System, das mitdenkt. Die KI kombiniert die Daten im Hintergrund: Sie sieht den Abflugort Berlin, filtert passende Strände von der Ostsee bis Dänemark, prüft Einreisebestimmungen für den Hund und berechnet die Fahrtzeit. Wenn Italien mit dem Camper 18 Stunden dauert, schlägt das System einen Zwischenstopp vor – bevor die Familie auf Höhe München kollektiv die Nerven verliert. Die Maschine zwingt uns nicht mehr in ihre Tabellenlogik, sie passt sich unserer Sprache an. Für uns Reisende fühlt sich das an wie das alte Reisebüro an der Ecke – nur eben digital, rund um die Uhr und mit der Leistung eines Rechenzentrums im Hintergrund. Der neue Luxus und die unsichtbare Sortierung Das klingt bequem: Keine 36 offenen Browser-Tabs mehr, kein nächtliches Vergleichen von Hotelbewertungen. Die KI nimmt uns die kognitive Schwerstarbeit ab. Wir äußern Wünsche, die Maschine sortiert vor. Aber genau hier entsteht eine neue Abhängigkeit. Wenn die KI auswählt, sehen wir nur noch das, was der Algorithmus für relevant hält. Die alte Ergebnisliste war mühsam, bot aber Kontrolle. Die KI liefert weniger Chaos, aber auch weniger Transparenz. Wir bekommen eine kuratierte Antwort. Wer sortiert hier eigentlich für uns? Dabei bleibt offen, nach welchen Kriterien das System filtert: Qualität, Preis, Provision oder Verfügbarkeit? Für Reiseanbieter verschiebt sich der Markt komplett. Früher kämpften sie um Plätze bei Google. Künftig geht es um GEO: Generative Engine Optimization. Wer seine Daten nicht maschinenlesbar bereitstellt, existiert für die KI nicht. Das Angebot ist dann nicht schlecht – es ist schlicht unsichtbar. Die besten Empfehlungen sind nicht automatisch die objektiv besten Reisen, sondern die, die das System am leichtesten verarbeiten kann. Bei Algorithmen zählt vor allem Vertrauen Das erklärt, warum der Mensch die Blackbox retten muss. Je stärker Algorithmen vorsortieren, desto wichtiger wird Vertrauen. KI formuliert beeindruckend, aber sie halluziniert auch. Sie missversteht Verfügbarkeiten oder klebt Details aus unterschiedlichen Quellen zu einem allzu schönen Gesamtbild zusammen. Bei einem Ladekabel ist das egal, bei einer Familienreise für 5.000 Euro nicht. Hier schlägt die Stunde für echte Reisebüros und Touristiker. Sie sind keine analogen Restposten, sondern das Gütesiegel in der Flut. Ein guter Berater weiß, ob das „charmante kleine Hotel“ wirklich charmant ist oder nur winzig. Er weiß, ob der flache Strand für Kinder taugt und wann er dem Kunden sagen muss: „Diese Flugverbindung ruiniert Ihnen den ersten Urlaubstag.“ Das ist Expertise, keine Romantik. Reisebüro stirbt nicht – aber muss besser werden Einfache Buchungsarbeit, das reine Eintippen von Daten und Preisvergleiche, wird die Maschine übernehmen. Menschliche Beratung verschwindet nicht, sie verändert ihren Wert. Erfolgreiche Reisebüros müssen künftig Kurator und Vertrauensinstanz sein. Für junge Touristiker heißt das: KI ist kein Feind, sondern ein Werkzeug. Datenkompetenz, Zielgebietswissen und Empathie gehören ab jetzt zusammen. Brauchen perfekte Reisen etwas mehr Chaos? Vielleicht plant die KI irgendwann den perfekten Urlaub: wetteroptimiert, stressfrei und hundefreundlich. Dann merken wir vermutlich, dass perfekte Reisen langweilig sind. Die besten Geschichten entstehen dort, wo der Plan versagt: im falschen Bus, im seltsamen Restaurant oder in der Pension ohne Website, deren Gastgeber den besten Sonnenuntergang kennt. Der neue Luxus ist nicht die perfekte Maschine, sondern der Mensch, der weiß, wann fünf Prozent Chaos einer Reise guttun. Die schönsten Wochen des Jahres brauchen mehr als Daten: Sie brauchen Vertrauen, Erfahrung und jemanden, der sagt: „Nehmen Sie nicht das perfekte Hotel. Nehmen Sie das, an das Sie sich erinnern werden.“ Die V-I-R Innovationstage und ihre Botschaft Das ist auch das Thema in meinem heutigen Deep Dive Podcast. Inspiriert wurde ich dazu von den, wie immer, hervorragenden Innovationstagen des V-I-R. Bei diesem Verband geht es logischerweise komplett um die „neue Internet-Reisewelt“, und wie sie sich verkaufen lässt. Das klassische Reisebüro ist da eher nicht Mitglied.  Aber gerade deshalb – auch durchaus im Sinne des Stationären Vertriebs – findet im Virtuellen derzeit die Entscheidungsschlacht statt, wie wir in Zukunft unsere Reisen buchen. Wie sehr die KI die Touristik gerade umkrempelt. Es gibt kaum ein spannenderes Thema. Wer hat künftig die beste Expertise und ist der beste Reiseberater und Kümmerer? KI-Impulse für die Zukunft der Beratung Grundlage für unsere Analyse des Status Quo – der sich, wie wir wissen, wahnsinnig schnell und radikal verändern kann – sind zwei Vorträge auf den V-I-R Innovationstagen 2026: Marco Otte-Witte und Florian Pichler von Mainmatter haben sich gefragt, was die neuen KI-Wege der Informationssuche für klassische Reiseangebote und ihre Darstellung bedeuten. Und Henrike Lewerenz (Google), Henning Höne (FDP), Salim Sahi (Holologix) und Marco Otte-Witte (Mainmatter) haben sich, moderiert von Travelholics-Host Roman Borch, vorsichtig der Frage angenähert, ob KI nicht gleich ganz die Tourismus-Branche übernimmt…? Ich denke, in unserem Podcast haben wir es geschafft, die vordergründig sehr technische Seite sehr erlebbar und verblüffend Augen-öffnend zu analysieren. Mit dem Wohnmobil in die Ferien und die grosse Freiheit geniessen. Aber; Sind Ferien mit dem Wohnmobil Ferien ohne Probleme? Und; Gibt das Wohnmobil wirklich ein Gefühl von Freiheit ohne Verpflichtungen? Kann man einfach so losfahren, wohin man möchte, ohne feste Pläne oder Abhängigkeiten? Fakt ist sicher: Das eigene Zuhause ist immer dabei – inklusive Bett, Küche und oft sogar Badezimmer. Ob am Meer, in den Bergen oder auf einem ruhigen Stellplatz in der Natur: Jeder Ort kann zur persönlichen Wohlfühloase werden. Gleichzeitig gelten Wohnmobile gerade auf Pass-Strassen als Hindernis und überfluten im Sommer ganze Campingplätze. Viele Neu-Camper sind zudem von dem Angebot und späteren Suche nach einem Winterstandplatz, wenn der Camper nicht gebraucht wird, überfordert. Vielfach endet das Abenteuer dann mit einem Verkauf des Campers. Wie werde ich ein glücklicher Neu-Camper und was muss ich trotz der ganzen Abenteuerlust beim Campen bedenken? Braucht es das Haus auf 4 Rädern oder kann ich auch klein anfangen?

Die Hubschrauberpilotin hat europäischen Astronauten wie Alexander Gerst und Matthias Maurer das Handwerkszeug für die ISS beigebracht.  Technik, Abläufe, Fehler- und Notfalltraining. Inzwischen gibt sie als Selbständige Einblicke in das Thema Raumfahrt, coacht Führungskräfte - und wirbt als Keynote-Speakerin dafür, sich auch mal ins Unbekannte zu stürzen. For the last 7 years, my overlanding setup has revolved around a bed rack and rooftop tent. It's taken me on incredible trips, helped me learn what actually matters on the trail, and honestly shaped the way I camp and travel. Fred from the Subarctic Alaska Sasquatch YouTube channel is back with more amazing encounters, and this time he brings us deep into the wild, unforgiving landscape of Alaska. Be sure to check out his channel using the link below.In this episode, Fred shares Ralph's chilling early-1980s encounter on the Willow side of Hatcher Pass, where what began as a routine trip to set up a travel trailer on soft breakup ground quickly turned into something far more terrifying. Ralph first believed he had spotted a bear near the treeline, but the massive figure he saw soon revealed itself to be something far more humanlike, standing an estimated nine-and-a-half to ten feet tall.Over the following days and nights, the activity around the trailer intensified with guttural growls, strange clicking sounds, older tracks, and what appeared to be a worn path leading dangerously close to the trailer window.The encounter escalated when the trailer was violently tipped onto its side during a night of terrifying growls.Ralph fired at the figure in the darkness and later discovered broken windows that had to be patched. On another night, he woke to see a large hand reaching through one of those broken windows, fired again, and then heard heavy movement across the roof.After finding stacked lumber shoved deep into the ground, Ralph finally left the property and never returned. His brother would later abandon the land as well after experiencing similar unexplained events.Fred also shares a haunting 1990s report from near the Kvichak River, where a wolf's howl was followed by the appearance of twenty to thirty wolves and a strange “Jeremiah Johnson”-looking figure.
