Sacrosanct is a Dungeons & Dragons 5e Actual Play Podcast set in a Forgotten Realms alternate reality featuring a cast of three elven women and one large, grumpy dragonborn.
The crew hears from Jengo the act he actually committed that landed him in the Palace of Justice. Afterward, the crew finishes their final "errands", or something like that, as the day of the ball nears. The library continues to provide a number of almost-connected, god-based revelations for the crew. Then, it's time to check in on an old friend whose fate was not as lucky as theirs. The party united at Phantasmal Fashion to assemble their ball-day brand. While Barash ponders his next steps and Lin partakes of sister time, Mia faces some tough questions about herself that her high Dex won't help her dodge. The (birthday) ball looms ever closer, and so Barash investigates leads on one of the elusive gods, Bahamut, while Lin returns to Mia with sisters Aza and Zola to go get fitted for (birthday) ball outfits. Finally, after hyping them up from the very beginning, Lin reunites with her sister and her sister's wife. While some creepy secrets are revealed, Barash decides it's time to do some investigation.Intro/Outro composed for Sacrosanct by humanaturefiverrAdditional Music: Borrtex || Daniel Birch || Lee Rosevere || Meydansound || Kai EngelWebsite: sacrosanctrp.wordpress.comTwitter: twitter.com/SacrosanctRpDonate: ko-fi.com/sacrosanctrp
The first night of freedom sees Mia doling out lots of explanations to just about everyone, except Barash, who's scheduled his own personal commitment. And when Lin makes her journey to locate her sister, she gains something unexpected (and cryptic, of course).Intro/Outro composed for Sacrosanct by humanaturefiverrAdditional Music: Borrtex || Daniel Birch || Ketsa || Meydansound Website: sacrosanctrp.wordpress.comTwitter: twitter.com/SacrosanctRpDonate: ko-fi.com/sacrosanctrp
The party finally makes their way to Mia's second home as a place to stay within the city. Cue awkward talks with parents, unexpected flirt game, and, "Hey, are you a god?" The crew has a lot to unpack. A lot. Some of the revelations they have, however, are not like any they could have seen coming, including an invitation to the Victor's March Ball. Wow, the new arc begins with our heroes reacting to everything that had just happened. There's a lot to learn about the God Shards, Crane and Novus (unexpectedly), and Lio's mother, the Undying Queen. After taking a small break (several months is small, right?), the cast reconvenes to talk smack about the campaign insofar. It's good fun. Too much fun? Possibly too much fun. The party awaits the verdict. The fallout of the Meeting of the Worthy has spiraled them to this very moment, and they won't land anywhere near where they expect in this Act 3 finale, the conclusion of the first arc. The party has returned to their dungeon suite after surviving the final round of the Hero's Games, somehow. Now, they face the toughest trial of them all: the, uh—well, the actual trial. What truths will they tell, and what lies? And how badly will they do either of those things? A visit from a less savory politician, and a letter from Jengo, added to the party's very full pot of, "The end is coming, what are we intending to do?" With the staple planning episode out of the way, now the party faces the final battle of the Heroes Games, and a big reveal. Barash experienced another strange dream, and Kaylark had a vision of someone who appeared much differently than when she had first met him. Lin had a moment of deja vu while studying the arrangement of rapiers, and Mia had an existential moment of questioning everything. Lin and Mia had initiated the royal chambers puzzle with Novus, beginning with the first of the children's rooms and now moving onto the next. Meanwhile, Barash and Kaylark make ultimate use of their library time, before it's time for the party to come together and face the next probably terrible thing in their journey. A letter was left for the party, tucked away in a hollowed book to the Ageless Queen, with a message dedicated to each of them. They've picked themselves up out of the rubble of the second round and dusted themselves off. After exchanging verbal blows with one of their allies (if that's the right word), they now make their way back to their dungeon suite. It'd be cool if things went as planned. The second round of the Hero's Games has ended, but the results are still unknown following the unexpected appearances of some dragons (no big deal or anything). The party picks themselves up out of the dirt to face the DM's favorite thing: consequences. "Only an hour and a half this time, hard stop," said the DM, yet again unwittingly, for this Act 2 Q&A session. The cast comes together to discuss the rising events and challenges of Bad Religion, and how their characters were affected by the dramatic fallout of the finale. It has begun. The second round of the Hero's Games has commenced, but the final adversary sparks a different kind of conflict through the party. Who do they fight? Can they afford to lose? While Kaylark, Lin, and Barash witnessed conflict between a number of politicians, Mia happened to see a very important door within the Palace of Justice hanging ajar. Finally reunited, the party came to rest (for the most part), and now they awake to face the inevitable challenge that awaits them. Lin, Kaylark, and Barash returned to the sewers (finally) to find Kethan certainly not pacing feverishly (he was) in wait, and Mia continued to venture with Ketharie before they came to discover the city under lockdown. In this episode, the party might actually reunite. Probably. The city erupted with guards and brought Barash, Lin, and Kaylark under the pressure of a full chase. After coming face-to-face with the Rose Guard, they now must decide what the heck they're supposed to do to get back to the dungeons, if that's the choice they make at all. In an attempt to make it back to the Palace of Justice before dusk, the Lin, Kaylark, and Barash part of the Crystal Crew attempted to make their way through the busiest part of the city. That didn't go so well, and now they come face to face with members of the Rose Guard. The party has officially split, with Mia and Ketharie stumbling their way through the infamous Urchin Bay while the rest of the party goes with the dependable Kethan back toward the Palace of Justice. There's absolutely no way something could go wrong, and especially not within mere moments of setting out. Intro/Outro composed for Sacrosanct by humanaturefiverrAdditional music: Meydansound || Pipe Choir || Lee Rosevere || epitomeZero
The party made their way through the sewers and discovered clues, or something clue-adjacent. After some contention with Ketharie and Kethan, Mia splits off with Ketharie to find her friend, while the rest of the party attempts to make their way back to the Palace of Justice. Nothing can go wrong. The party has acquired the skill of closing doors after entering the sewers and navigating their way through the underground maze. With this new skill, the end of the maze nears, and the party will discover what's on the other side. The casual lunch began well enough before ending on a terse note. Mia admitted that the journey to find her friends would take them into the unsavory Urchin Bay, to which Kethan and Ketharie made stink faces. The party now moves on to follow the trail set before them, down into the sewers, where the mystery builds. After Barash located a martial arts studio with some sort of connection to his monastery, he dropped his arcane disguise. Now he and a disgruntled Kethan must find their way to the rest of the party, who are enjoying a fun and absolutely stress-free lunch. No stress here. Not at all, no way. Following Lin's conversation with the mysterious Novus, the party moved onto the Temple of Kelemvor to locate Kaylark's contact, known as Locke, so that she could fail to convince him of her unlikely history too. Will she finally convince someone in this episode? At the very least, the party will learn more about the amulet they've found, and Barash faces a choice of his own. The party located a clue at the tavern, and then Kaylark recognized the face in the tapestry as somebody she used to know, probably? The face was no queen back in her time, after all. Then, following Mia visiting one-half of her uncles, the party moved on to Lin's contact, and she will come across a lead of her own. Intro/Outro composed for Sacrosanct by humanaturefiverrAdditional music: Meydansound || Chris Zabriskie || Hatch
The investigation of the scene of the crime resulted in some...odd finds? The party ends their tavern quest with an amulet and part of an antique map, but they're about to get something else to take with them to their next stops. Intro/Outro composed for Sacrosanct by humanaturefiverrAdditional music: Meydansound
There's something hidden at the tavern, and the party has one chance to find it. They revisit the scene of the murder for the first time since their arrest, and with only ten hours to burn, their chance to find answers is up against some unlikely odds - and some new drinking habits? Intro/Outro composed for Sacrosanct by humanaturefiverrAdditional music: Meydansound
Guard Captain Arizima has tasked them with investigating the scene of the crime, as well as to seek whatever clues they might find through the city. All they have to do is sneak through the sewers, navigate the expansive city of Ankhapur under cover, and be back before dusk. No problem, right? First stop: the tavern where it all started. After stumbling into second place during the first round of the Cullings (AKA, the Race), the newly minted Crystal Crusaders now face a familiar challenge: uh, who framed them for murder? The answer, of course, will only be found through a day-trip into the grand city of Ankhapur. "Let's just take an hour to ask and answer some questions," the DM said, unwittingly, before the crew took almost three hours anyway. Following the Act 1, Bait & Switch, finale, the cast comes together to discuss the mishaps and misfortunes from the game, both for players and for NPCs, as well as the potential alternative events and endings the players could have triggered.
They've come to the end of the race, but the race isn't done with them. To make it through the gate, the crew will have to survive it in this double episode conclusion of the Bait & Switch arc. Intro/Outro composed for Sacrosanct by humanaturefiverrAdditional music: Meydansound || OKAM vs ps || Sea of Åland || Borrtex
Whatever new information the map revealed, Lin has opted to keep it a secret from the rest of the party, and Kaylark managed to make a whole bunch of new friends before escaping with a new potion. The party will press on, their map marker revealing they're closing in on the end of the Race. What awaits them, however, is something not so pleasant, and a little familiar. Intro/Outro composed for Sacrosanct by humanaturefiverrAdditional music: Pipe Choir || Chris Zabriskie || Sound of Picture || LJ Kruzer || Meydansound
After the revelation that the Race has dumped them in the Plaguewrought Lands, the party stumbled unwittingly into a giant, which was partially composed of this weird reoccurring purple crystal. Mia left a crater in the shard giant, and Barash punched it to smithereens, but Lin will soon find something she decides to keep secret before Kaylark makes a series of unfortunate decisions. Intro/Outro composed for Sacrosanct by humanaturefiverrAdditional music: Pipe Choir || OKAM vs ps || Ketsa || Sound of Picture
The party has made...friends? No one's really sure, least of all their friends. After some sweet inner-party conflict over the handling of the tokens in the Race, the party resolved to move on with their new "friends", with a hope that the whole thing wouldn't backfire. Time's a-ticking and the sun's a-rising, and the party will have to weigh what's more important: winning, or surviving. Intro/Outro composed for Sacrosanct by humanaturefiverrAdditional music: Borrtex || Dexter Britain || Ketsa || Sound of Picture || OKAM vs ps
After stumbling across their first empty carriage, and finding it in a daunting state, the party moved on with the race. Finally, they came across other participants, but before they could come close, the two participants they were rudely dropping eaves on were ambushed, and a fight ensued. It's not going exactly the way they expected, either. Intro/Outro composed for Sacrosanct by humanaturefiverrAdditional music: Borrtex || Meydansound
The forest came alive with purple light to surround the party, an experience both alarming and gross. After punching birds out of the sky and making noodles out of the vine creatures, the party faces what to do about the race, and what the race will do about them. Intro/Outro composed for Sacrosanct by humanaturefiverrAdditional music: Parvus Decree
So, following the dragonling through the woods had seemed like a good idea at the time, until it led the party to a crater harpooned by a tall, glowing purple crystal. Lin revealed the crystal to be a "godshard", and also that she has the ability to channel it. What she didn't expect was what her channeling would awaken – and it's hella creepy. Intro/Outro composed for Sacrosanct by humanaturefiverrAdditional music: Meydansound
After the start of the Cullings landed the party in the middle of the woods with a less-than-helpful arcane map, they found their way just in time for the map to...short-fuse, it seems. Now, they've come face-to-face with what appears to be a red dragonling, and, most unnerving of all, the dragonling wants to take them somewhere. Intro/Outro composed for Sacrosanct by humanaturefiverrAdditional music: Parvus Decree || Meydansound
The Cullings have begun – probably. After agreeing to Guard Captain Arizima’s terms, the party was whisked away during the night and dropped into, uh, a forest? The map they were given included some annoyingly cryptic words, but what they know for sure is that this is a race. The question now is what they’re racing toward, or against. Intro/Outro composed for Sacrosanct by humanaturefiverrAdditional music: Borrtex || Parvus Decree
The Cullings are about to begin, and the party is faced with the decision of whether to opt in or not. They also have some visitors, both the underwear-model-attractive kind and, uh, the maybe-sincere kind? They bring both news and secrets of the investigation into the scene, as well as more information about the Hero’s Games. Intro/Outro composed for Sacrosanct by humanaturefiverrAdditional music: Parvus Decree
Well, this isn’t what the party signed up for. After trying to make a getaway from the grisly scene, the party is caught and promptly arrested for a murder they didn’t commit. Assigned to the dungeons, Guard Captain Zima comes to them with a deal that might absolve them of the crime, but it’ll require the party to play the villain they’ve been accused of. Intro/Outro composed for Sacrosanct by humanaturefiverrAdditional music: Meydansound
