I'm Sarah, founder of establishher.org A community of deep growing women hungering for more of Jesus in Life and in His Word! My heart is to make much of Jesus in every environment, gathering, and teaching. God has given me a passion to communicate the Living Word through the written word to women a…
I’ve been studying the fruit of the spirit in detail! The possibility, promise, and presence found in those 9 words has lifted me and grounded me in these days. This is simply a highlight of the first 5... deeper dive into all these words will be my first virtual Bible study launching Feb 1!
There is so much I can say and teach on prayer. I have led weekend retreats on it but here I simply want to highlight a key phrase that is often used would should rather be removed. The word “help” implies just that... Meaning we need God’s help (assistance) as if He is in the passenger seat. Your prayers will intensify and your intimacy with Christ will deepen when “help” is replaced with verbs that place God in the rightful seat of Driver. We do not need His assistance but His activating Presence to do all in, through, & for us. Amen?!
What is heart-breaking to you is heart-building to God! The very things I would never have chosen are the very things I would never change because through those experiences God made me who I am. It is the heart breaking things that God can use to be heart building. He works all things together for good- all things- even the rubble of our heart is the ground on which He can rebuild our lives. There is an "upside down" Kingdom in which God operates throughout His Word. We have to die to live, be weak to be strong, be worldly foolish to be worldly wise and so it is true that you have to be broken to be built.
From the beginning in Genesis, "God saw and called it good". He defines, demonstrates, and desires what is Good. Goodness of God in Hebrew is Tov- the idea that it is divinely all working as it should why it should and with great pleasure for the one it should. You see, Good is up to God to dictate not you or I. When the serpent tempts Eve, he not only questions God but he causes Eve to question "good" and even redefine it in her own eyes. This is dangerous! May we always keep good and God in the same sentence, letting Him alone be what sees and defines good.
