In Numbers 30, scripture starts with instructions that might seem obscure. There's guidance about vows and how a married woman or an unmarried daughter might be released from a binding agreement—by bringing it to her father or husband, who could nullify it if they did not approve. It was simple: freedom from obligation came through someone in authority. In Mark 9, Jesus confronts sin with equally strong language. He says, "If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off." He isn't advocating literal amputation, but rather using powerful words to emphasize the seriousness of sin's grip. Sin, Jesus shows us, operates like a contract, a vow—an insidious agreement between ourselves and the parts of us that are prone to wander. Sin says to the hand, "Do this and I'll reward you with that." Sin bargains with the eye, "Look here and you'll gain something." We make these agreements, often without realizing, and they bind us. But severing limbs is not the answer. The answer is severing the vows and contracts we have unwittingly made with sin. And the way to do that is the way shown in Numbers 30: we bring our vow to the Father. We confess to Him the promise, the contract that is ruining our lives—and He, our good Father, is the one with the authority to nullify it. He breaks the contract. He releases us from sin's power and control. This is not about magic words; it's about what God has done in sending His Son. Jesus paid the price for our sin. He met the demands of the agreement, and He alone has the power to free us from the bonds we've created. He is the one who can tie those deceitful contracts to a millstone and throw them into the sea. Are you trapped in the grip of sin? Take every agreement you've made—all the bargains, all the lies—and bring them to your Father. Confess them. Your confession doesn't change God's attitude toward you; it changes you. It wipes your eyes clear to the truth of your being: that you belong to Him. Regardless of sins committed, God will never cease to be your Father. He has united Himself with us once and for all through Jesus Christ—His incarnation, death, resurrection, ascension. Jesus has defeated sin, death, and the grave. Sin blinds our eyes to the reality that we are swept up into something new, but confession is our way of seeing again. On the cross, Jesus broke the power of every agreement. Let us return to the Father and remember who we are in the Son—free, alive, hopeful, and full of love. That's the prayer that I have for my own soul. That's the prayer that I have for my family, for my wife and my daughters and my son. And that's the prayer that I have for you. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose  through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen.   Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.   And now Lord,  make me an instrument of your peace.  Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon.  Where there is doubt, faith. Pundits opened their mouths with the usual choreography, but what came out was unfiltered oxygen. Raw. Bracing. Occasionally fatal to reputations.The first hearings convened before breakfast.A senior Democrat, long fond of describing January 6 as an existential threat on par with Pearl Harbor and 9/11, leaned toward the microphone and admitted that while the riot was disgraceful, the apocalyptic rhetoric proved politically invaluable. It unified a fractured caucus. It redirected scrutiny away from pandemic policy failures. It froze debate. “Most secure election in history,” another repeated, before clarifying that security and public confidence are not synonyms, particularly after states rewrote voting procedures under emergency authority while private actors poured hundreds of millions into local election administration.He even cited the now well documented “Zuckerberg grants,” the $419 million channeled through the Center for Tech and Civic Life, a figure reported widely in 2021 and dissected in state legislatures thereafter. What had once been framed as “philanthropy” was now described, under duress of honesty, as asymmetrical infrastructure. Legal, perhaps. To Teach them what the Bible says about them and who they have been made to be in the promises of God's Word. This changed my life years ago and completely transformed me from a person full of doubt, fear and unbelief to a strong confident Christian that knows I can do anything through Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. And I'm determined to teach the world what God has taught and commissioned me to teach and that is His Word.  That commission takes me to jails and detention centers weekly along with other open doors at many churches and ministries that are wanting to teach these important truths to the world. My podcast goes out 6 days a week to help the people I am ministering to grow in the truths that God has taught me for many years now. This podcast is free to all that want to listen and grow strong in who God has made them to be in Christ Jesus their Lord and Savior. My Prayers For The World Ephesians 1:15-23 NLT  'Ever since I first heard of your strong faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for God's people everywhere, I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. Our text today is 1 Corinthians 5:1-2. The sin in Corinth wasn't subtle, hidden, or debatable. It was so scandalous that even the surrounding pagan culture was shocked by it. Paul writes: It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that is not tolerated even among pagans, for a man has his father's wife. And you are arrogant! Ought you not rather to mourn? Let him who has done this be removed from among you. — 1 Corinthians 5:1–2 Paul cannot believe what he's hearing. A man in the church is committing sexual sin that even unbelievers reject, and instead of grieving over it, the church is arrogant about its tolerance. This is not just a Corinth problem—it's a problem in today's church as well. Sexual sin is no longer shocking in the culture, but the deeper issue is that it's no longer shocking in the church. Porn has become normalized. Cohabitation is assumed. Adultery is reframed as emotional escape. Lust is dismissed as human nature. Same‑sex behavior is being affirmed rather than confronted by churches that are more focused on appearing compassionate than being holy. We are treating as normal what God calls destructive. This is where Paul's words cut through our excuses. The church is never more vulnerable than when it stops being distinct. And if we lose our distinction, we lose our witness. We cannot rescue a world we're trying to resemble. Believers today must reclaim what Corinth forgot: holiness isn't harsh—holiness is healing. Calling sin what it is doesn't crush people; it frees them. Truth is not the enemy of compassion; truth is what makes compassion meaningful. Love doesn't celebrate what destroys people; love confronts what destroys people so they can be restored. If we stay silent, people stay trapped. If we stay passive, people stay wounded. If we tolerate what God calls sin, we slowly become a church shaped by culture instead of by Scripture. This moment demands courage. Courage to grieve what God grieves. Courage to stand for truth when it's unpopular. Courage to gently persuade others toward the life God blesses. Courage to be different in a world that demands sameness. We cannot change hearts, but we can point to the One who does. We cannot force holiness, but we can model it with conviction and compassion. You don't persuade people by blending in; you persuade them by living what they desperately need. This is why Paul urges the church to mourn rather than shrug, to confront rather than ignore, and to lead rather than imitate. The church must be the place where truth restores—not where sin hides. DO THIS: Ask God to reveal any area of sexual compromise or complacency in your life. Confess it honestly, and commit to helping others walk in truth with humility and courage. ASK THIS: Have I become numb to sexual sin—in myself or in the church? Where have I stayed silent when I should have stood for truth? How can I lovingly help someone move toward holiness? PRAY THIS: Father, open my eyes to anything that mirrors the world instead of Christ. Give me courage to stand for truth—even when it's costly—and compassion to help others walk in it. Make me a voice of clarity and a vessel of restoration. Amen. PLAY THIS: "Refiner"

Pastor Alex reminded us that at some point in our walk with the Lord, we will face loneliness. It can feel like being unseen, unheard, rejected, or forgotten. It can come through loss, betrayal, transition, sin, or even the weight of your calling. If ignored, loneliness can turn into isolation, depression, wrong relationships, and even a drifting faith. But God never intended for us to remain alone. He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those whose spirits are crushed. And we can turn to Him in our times of need. When loneliness comes, don't isolate, lean into God. Worship. Confess. Gather with believers. His presence changes everything.
