The She Sings Along Podcast, hosted by Allison Schrader, is a gathering place for encouragement, stories and using the word “singing” as a synonym for “seeking,” as we learn together how to seek Jesus is the everyday. Grab something yummy to sip on and stay awhile!
In this episode, after a long break from social media and sharing my words online, I share what I've learned from being quiet.
Let’s talk about being intentional about bringing beauty into our homes and why it can make a difference in our homes. I share about homes that have inspired me, what I have done in my own home. I talk about why there is a difference between having a beautiful home full of beautiful things that causes you to worship the One who made everything beautiful in the first place.Links from today’s Show:At Home with SallyThe NesterKathi Lipp and The Clutter Free AcademyHow to Make Your Home a Haven Blog Post

Instead of blazing into a decade, year, month, week or day for that matter, I have learned I maintain a higher capacity after slowing down first. I am learning what gives me rest, rejuvenation and what inspires me to “get it done.”These thoughts draw me into Scripture and I find myself in Psalm 1. Join me there as we slow down to see what God is speaking. True peace, the peace that comes from God isknowing that I am going to be with God foreverAnd knowing that everything is going to be okay. Even when our circumstances are painful and hard, God’s peace reminds us how the story ends. One day He will wipe away every tear from every eye and there will be no more sadness and no more pain! This is the peace He offers us in HIm.In this episode we talk about practices that activate this peace inside of us.Nichole Nordeman’s Let There Be Peace on EarthConnect with Allison at SheSingsAlong.com

In this episode, I take the listener back to some writing from 2011 with reflections from today. I wrote Holes in the Mirror when I was a young mama of two tiny humans, trying to navigate the tradition from working mom to stay at home mom. In my search for delight and purpose, God used a sweet moment to teach me a lesson I would work to live out for my lifetime.
In this episode I talk about the goodness of my social media sabbath, my time in nature, my lessons in delighting and other things I learned over this last summer.

She Sings Along Podcast Episode 6 | The Making & Tending of FriendshipIn this episode I interview one of my dearest friends, Tammy Huckaby, about the hard work of friendship. In a world with people all around us and access to others at our fingertips, we are still facing an epidemic of loneliness. Making lifelong friends doesn’t happen over night. It takes years of cultivating in and out of seasons. If you find yourself in a lonely place today, yearning for real friendship, may you be reminded that God can use such a season to call you deeper into relationship with Him.This episode’s Song:Oh How I Need YouTammy’s Etsy Shop:Avila and GreyMOPS:Find a group here! This month’s Spotify Playlist:She Sings Along - MarchSubscribe at shesingsalong.com

She Sings Along Podcast Episode 4 | Why We Should Let Christmas LingerDecember has been CRAZY for many of us. In just a few days there will be wrapping paper strewn across the floor, over-tired parents, sugar-high children, and a holiday hangover that doesn’t come from the eggnog but instead, the weariness we bring on ourselves during this time of celebration. Because I don’t want my Christmas to be defined by stress and dismay, I am going to let Christmas linger a bit after the 25th rolls around. I am going to watch Hallmark movies, take naps, read a book and enjoy my family. I am going to spend the days after Christmas remembering and reflecting and praying and seeking God for the new year. I have a proposition for you. Don’t pack it all up December 26th. Sit down for a few quiet moments. Pray. Read your Bible. Write down the things on your heart and mind in the glow of the tree. After all the food, festivities and presents, let Christmas linger while you find peace in His presence. This episode’s Sing Along Song:Thank you to Central Live for the permission to play I lift my eyes.
