A child born to save our fallen, sinful humanity "will rule forever with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David."  (vs.7)  We may not see much of it these days, but PEACE is what we long for... peace in our homes and families, peace among our friends and in our own hearts. Because we known the LORD will return one day and reign in the chaos, we can have peace in our hearts and proclaim "Glory to God in the highest, and PEACE on earth to all whom God favors." (vs. 14)

What is peace, and how do we get it? In the midst of the business of life, the chaos of this world, or the constant to-dos and reminders, sometimes peace can feel far away. But what if peace is already here? In Jesus, there is peace, no matter what's going on around us. “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33) In this video, we take some time to experience the peace Jesus offers by allowing "Peace (Spoken Scriptures)" to remind us of who we are, who God is, and what we're created to do.

Let There Be Peace on Earth, and Let It Begin with Me. Do you ever find yourself discouraged by the amount of conflict and hostility in the world, wishing there was more peace on earth? Or perhaps you wish for more peace in your community. And as families connect around the holidays, maybe you wish for more peace in your own family. When we find ourselves longing for more peace, the words of a song written shortly after World War II can be helpful. The song's first line offers this insightful wisdom, "Let there be peace on Earth, and let it begin with me." Many things in the world are beyond our control - a lesson we have all learned repeatedly during the pandemic. One thing we do have control over, though, is how we choose to show up in the world, in our relationships, and at any holiday gatherings we may be attending. Rather than waiting for others to change, we can focus on our ability to be an instrument of peace in our circles of influence. All of us from the Wellness Compass Initiative wish each of you the happiest of holidays, filled with peace and love.
