From the Splendid Fred audio archive... You're about to listen to a sequence of poetry entitled 'Eulogy'. Written and performed by poet Lawrence Nicholas. The sequence was written in response to Splendid Fred's climate change album, This Changes Everything. The sequence was embedded into a soundscape and installed in Splendid Fred's multi media art exhibition at The University of Winchester on 3rd February, 2018. It lived in a listening booth that allowed for only a couple of listeners to experience at a time. Now, it's here for your personal listening. Lawrence's poetry strides a desperately fragile line between beauty and violence in the sequence, it was privilege to craft a soundscape to form the audible bedrock for these words of transcendence. Poetry and performance by Lawrence Nicholas. Soundscape by Antosh Wojcik

At 11am on the 12th December 2017, Creative Writing students gathered together to write flash fiction based on visual prompts. By 12:30, their stories were being recorded by voice actors from the drama department, and by the end of the day, they had been made into a podcast. From the brains of the students to broadcast in 12 hours, ‘Instant Stories’ is storytelling at its purest: undiluted, unedited, and a unique example of the talent on display at the University of Winchester. (Warning: contains explicit language and violent imagery). Visit us here: https://www.winchester.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/courses/ba-hons-creative-writing/
