Hello and happy Thursday! Tom has always had moments where he was experiencing a specific theme with different clients at different times. Tom has repetitively mentioned: being present, being thankful and being in the moment. All of those are Pro You when experienced, but as with everything Pro You, easier stated and much more difficult to apply. Long term goals are more difficult than shorter term goals. If one achieves multiple short term goals, inevitably they are on their way to achieving any long term goal. That perspective added to being present made Tom realize that 'Today' is truly all any of us have and that is where our time, energy and focus should go. When applied there is a true sense of power; controlling what one can while they can. With no thought, time or energy going to tomorrow or yesterday. Enjoy, and as always, thanks for listening! To support the ministry and get access to exclusive content, go to: http://patreon.com/logicalbiblestudy Matthew 6: 24-34 - 'Do not worry about tomorrow: your Holy Father knows your needs.' Catechism of the Catholic Church Paragraphs: - 2113 (in 'Idolatry') - Idolatry not only refers to false pagan worship. It remains a constant temptation to faith. Idolatry consists in divinizing what is not God. Man commits idolatry whenever he honors and reveres a creature in place of God, whether this be gods or demons (for example, satanism), power, pleasure, race, ancestors, the state, money, etc. Jesus says, "You cannot serve God and mammon." Many martyrs died for not adoring "the Beast" refusing even to simulate such worship. Idolatry rejects the unique Lordship of God; it is therefore incompatible with communion with God. - 2424 (in 'The Social Doctrine of the Church') - A theory that makes profit the exclusive norm and ultimate end of economic activity is morally unacceptable. The disordered desire for money cannot but produce perverse effects. It is one of the causes of the many conflicts which disturb the social order. A system that "subordinates the basic rights of individuals and of groups to the collective organization of production" is contrary to human dignity. Every practice that reduces persons to nothing more than a means of profit enslaves man, leads to idolizing money, and contributes to the spread of atheism. "You cannot serve God and mammon." - 2729 (in 'Facing Difficulties in Prayer') - The habitual difficulty in prayer is distraction. It can affect words and their meaning in vocal prayer; it can concern, more profoundly, him to whom we are praying, in vocal prayer (liturgical or personal), meditation, and contemplative prayer. To set about hunting down distractions would be to fall into their trap, when all that is necessary is to turn back to our heart: for a distraction reveals to us what we are attached to, and this humble awareness before the Lord should awaken our preferential love for him and lead us resolutely to offer him our heart to be purified. Therein lies the battle, the choice of which master to serve. - 2547 (in 'Poverty of Heart') - The Lord grieves over the rich, because they find their consolation in the abundance of goods. "Let the proud seek and love earthly kingdoms, but blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven." Abandonment to the providence of the Father in heaven frees us from anxiety about tomorrow (abbreviated). - 2830 (in 'Give us this day our daily bread') - "Our bread": the Father who gives us life cannot not but give us the nourishment life requires - all appropriate goods and blessings, both material and spiritual. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus insists on the filial trust that cooperates with our Father's providence. He is not inviting us to idleness, but wants to relieve us from nagging worry and preoccupation. Such is the filial surrender of the children of God: To those who seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness, he has promised to give all else besides. Since everything indeed belongs to God, he who possesses God wants for nothing, if he himself is not found wanting before God. - 2416 (in 'Respect for the Integrity of Creation') - Animals are God's creatures. He surrounds them with his providential care. By their mere existence they bless him and give him glory (abbreviated). - 305 (in 'Divine Providence') - 1942 (in 'Human Solidarity') - 2632 (in 'Prayer of Petition') - 2659 (in 'Today') Got a Bible question? Security footage caught the act as Ikram stepped out of a car with her mother, just before the attack. While physicians aren’t sure if Ikram will ever fully see again, investigators are trying to determine who would do this to the victim. Ikram said she was likely targeted but has no idea why. Police said the suspect in the New York incident wore a black hooded sweatshirt during the incident and was holding a white cup. He stands around 6-feet-2-inches tall and has a “skinny build.”Joining Nancy Grace today; Nafiah Ikram - Victim, GoFundMe: "Help Nafiah, acid attack survivor, get justice" gofund.me/95699ed6 Sherina Mohammed- Victim's Mother Wendy Patrick - California prosecutor, Author: “Red Flags” www.wendypatrickphd.com 'Today with Dr. Wendy' on KCBQ in San Diego Dr. Jorey Krawczyn [KRAW-ZIN] - Police Psychologist, Adjunct Faculty with Saint Leo University; Research Consultant with Blue Wall Institute, Author: Operation S.O.S. - Practical Recommendations to Help “Stop Officer Suicide” (July 2021) bw-institute.com Karen L. A 6-year-old boy is dead after he was shot in an apparent road-rage attack in California. Kindergartener, Aiden Leos, was sitting in a booster seat in the back of the family’s car when another driver cut off Leos’ mother while they were in the carpool lane. She threw the other driver the finger in the rear-view mirror, according to police. As the mother merged into another lane, a passenger believed to have been in that other vehicle fired a gun, striking Leos. The mother pulled over to the side of the road on northbound State Route 55 in Orange, southeast of Los Angeles. She cradled the child as he died in her arms. Investigators are searching for the other vehicle believed to be involved in the incident. It appeared to be a white Volkswagen wagon sedan, and its two occupants, a man, and a woman.Joining Nancy Grace today:Wendy Patrick - California prosecutor, Author: “Red Flags” www.wendypatrickphd.com 'Today with Dr. Wendy' on KCBQ in San DiegoDr. Jorey Krawczyn [KRAW-ZIN] - Police Psychologist, Adjunct Faculty with Saint Leo University; Research Consultant with Blue Wall Institute, Author: Operation S.O.S. - Practical Recommendations to Help “Stop Officer Suicide” (July 2021) bw-institute.comDr. Michelle Dupre - Forensic Pathologist and former Medical Examiner, Author: “Homicide Investigation Field Guide” & "Investigating Child Abuse Field Guide", Former Police Detective Lexington County Sheriff’s DepartmentSpencer Coursen - Founder and President: Coursen Security Group www.CoursenSecurityGroup.com, Author: "The Safety Trap: A Security Expert’s Secrets For Staying Safe in a Dangerous World", www.TheSafetyTrap.com, Instagram: @s.coursen, Twitter: @SpencerCoursenKaren L. "It's your responsibility to guard and check your heart." Brett continued with our series in Hebrews, focusing on Hebrews 3:7-19, and explained how the books of Exodus and Numbers stand as warnings against unbelief that are relevant today. We can see that in verses 7 - 11, which read: "Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, 'Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness, where your fathers put me to the test and saw my works for forty years. Therefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, 'They always go astray in their heart; they have not known my ways.' As I swore in my wrath, 'They shall not enter my rest.'" Brett instructed us to be vigilant concerning unbelief today through the gift of the church community.

An MIT graduate has been named as a person of interest in the shooting death of Yale graduate student Kevin Jiang. New Haven Police say Quinxuan Pan, 29, should be considered armed and dangerous. A warrant is for his arrest in connection with a stolen car, but he is not named as yet as a suspect in the homicide. Jiang, 26, was fatally shot in the New Haven’s East Rock neighborhood. Police report indicate at least seven shots were hear by witnesses. Jiang’s vehicle had rear damage, so investigators are looking into the possibility that a car collision preceded the fatal shooting.Joining Nancy Grace today: Wendy Patrick - California prosecutor, author “Red Flags” www.wendypatrickphd.com 'Today with Dr. Wendy' on KCBQ in San DiegoDr. Daniel Bober - Chief of Psychiatry Memorial Regional Healthcare systems (Florida), Assistant Professor at Yale, @DrDanielBober on Twitter Robert Crispin - Private Investigator “Crispin Special Investigations” www.crispinsinvestigations.com Dr. Tim Gallagher - Medical Examiner State of Florida www.pathcaremed.com Alexis Tereszcuk - CrimeOnline.com Investigative Reporter, Writer/Fact Checker, Lead Stories dot Com
