Picture this: you're a young Kiwi on their big OE. You arrive in London, clasp your hands together, then quickly realise that you have no idea about how to find a job, how to find a flat, or where to get drunk. Where do you turn to? Cline Heine runs the Kiwis in London Facebook page, a 70,000 strong online diaspora designed to help young New Zealanders get their lives in London together. He tells me how the group got started, and why he's making the move offline.

When you Google “New Zealand” and “London” one of the first results is Rebecca Blandford’s blog Runaway Kiwi. It has become essential reading for anyone - Kiwi and non-Kiwi alike - wanting to get the most out of this pretty, and pace place. But Rebecca’s blog has become more than a source of advice on where to find a flat white that doesn’t suck - it’s symbolic of London’s incredible capacity for making a person. So, what brought her here in the first place?

London is synonymous with music and it's been the place where some of New Zealand's best musicians have produced their greatest work. Singer songwriter Jesse Will moved to London from Auckland in 2013 and is on the same path Don McGlashan and Neil Finn went before him. We met up in an East London park in a chilly July and talked music, werewolf Michael Jackson, and akward metaphors... mostly mine. Ok, entirely mine.

It's not easy finding a job when you've just moved to London. It's even harder when you're a journalist with nothing but Stuff or TVNZ on your CV.
