Two guys talk about a comic once a month
So, Terry Gilliam said some not so great stuff about MCU's Black Panther movie, for which Daudi and I have some thoughts. We also discuss Saga by Brian K Vaughan, an epic space opera/fantasy comic book series illustrated by Fiona Staples, published monthly by the American company Image Comics. Welcome to Episode 2 of Two Guys, One Comic. In this episode we discuss the swinging pendulum that is Spider-Man's MCU membership, the Joker's box office success and Kevin Feige's promotion to Lord High Ruler of all entertainment as well as 2004's Secret War, Marvel's most paranoid title. 00:00:00 - Intro and tipsy chat; Daudi is a very responsible drinker00:02:41 - What’s been happening since the last episode? The Joker movie is a critical and commercial success - what does this mean for the future of smaller comic book movies?Martin Scorsese’s denounces comic book movieKevin Feige’s promotion; are mega franchises a threat to our cultureSpider-Man is out of the MCU. Fury immediately takes his findings to the President of the United States but is denied the authorization requested to overthrow the post-Doom Latverian government due to its sponsorship by the U.S. Government. Fury is enraged at what he sees as the same pre-9/11 security complacency inviting disaster yet again.Fury recruits Captain America, Spider-Man, Daredevil, Black Widow, Luke Cage, Wolverine, and superhuman S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Daisy Johnson in a private attempt to covertly overthrow Latveria.01:20:09 - A quick aside regarding our earlier discussions - there is no risk in comic book movies but could that mean we get an Amalgam movie franchise?01:24:01 - Back to the book01:49:46 - Conclusion01:52:49 - Comic-Book RouletteDaudi's not on twitter but you can find Tom there.
