En périphérie de Paris, les « banlieues rouges » sont ces villes riches de leur histoire ouvrière, dirigées par des mairies communistes (et socialistes), depuis plus d'un siècle pour certaines. Ivry-sur-Seine, Montreuil, Nanterre, Aubervilliers : au nord et à l'est de la capitale, ces municipalités ont incarné l'essence même du « communisme municipal ». Construction massive de logements sociaux, investissements dans la culture et le sport pour tous, développement de centres de santé municipaux, etc.Malgré cette histoire, on constate que l'épuisement du vote communiste au niveau national n'a pas épargné ces bastions locaux : lors des dernières élections municipales de 2020, le Parti communiste français ne dirigeait plus que 17 villes de la « banlieue rouge », contre plus d'une centaine dans les années 1970. En cause : des luttes intestines, la désindustrialisation, la gentrification de ces villes jadis ouvrières.A cela s'ajoute un nouvel acteur politique de taille : La France insoumise (LFI) qui, pour la première fois, a décidé d'investir ces élections, et tout particulièrement dans les villes de la « banlieue rouge ». Sur place, le parti de Jean-Luc Mélenchon jouit d'une popularité inédite lors des grandes élections : au premier tour de la présidentielle de 2022, le leader « insoumis » a ainsi remporté 51,8 % des suffrages à Saint-Ouen (Seine-Saint-Denis) et atteint 55,2 % à Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis).LFI remplacera-t-elle le Parti communiste dans son rôle historique d'une gauche de proximité ? 1324. Llega la Iniciativa Resident Evil para que 17 podcast se unan entorno a una saga. Hoy arranco pidiendo disculpas porque sé que durante el episodio voy a pronunciar “Resident Ivol” como lo hemos hecho toda la vida por aquí, aunque no sea lo correcto. Ya sabéis que con ciertos términos anglosajones nos puede la españolización. Dicho esto, lo importante no es cómo lo pronunciemos, sino lo que han conseguido hacer alrededor de esta saga. Hoy os traigo una de esas propuestas que me encantan porque demuestran que el podcasting también es comunidad y coordinación. No hablo simplemente de podcast sobre videojuegos. Eso ya lo comparten todos los participantes. Hablo de algo mucho más concreto: 17 podcast distintos que se han puesto de acuerdo para rendir homenaje a una misma saga, coincidiendo además con el lanzamiento de la novena entrega, Resident Evil 9 Requiem. La iniciativa surge en el grupo de Podgaming y ha sido coordinada por Sergi, conocido podcastilmente como Waylis10, integrante de GamelX. Y lo interesante no es solo el tema elegido, sino la manera en la que lo han planteado: reparto de títulos, fechas de publicación cercanas, portada común o estilo compartido, hashtag propio y, además, creación de un feed específico donde escuchar todos los episodios juntos.Esto último me parece especialmente brillante. Porque no se han quedado en “cada uno publica lo suyo y ya está”, sino que han creado listas en iVoox, Spotify, YouTube y YouTube Music para que cualquier oyente pueda seguir la iniciativa completa sin volverse loco saltando de un canal a otro. Es decir, han pensado en la experiencia de escucha. Estamos hablando de una saga que empezó en 1996, que ha generado remakes, spin-offs, películas, novelas, cómics, series y hasta versiones en realidad virtual. Un universo tan amplio que daba para mucho más que un simple episodio suelto. Y eso es precisamente lo que han hecho: repartirse el universo Resident Evil para cubrirlo desde múltiples ángulos. Lo que me gusta de este tipo de propuestas es que, además de celebrar un lanzamiento concreto, consiguen algo todavía más importante: cruzar audiencias. Si escuchas uno de los podcast participantes, es muy probable que descubras otros 16. Y eso, en un ecosistema tan fragmentado como el nuestro, es oro puro. Yo, por supuesto, me sumo a la fiesta desde este lado del micrófono, haciendo de episodio 18 y cierre simbólico de la iniciativa. Y, sinceramente, ojalá más nichos hicieran este tipo de colaboraciones coordinadas. In this episode, Glúm continues to establish himself as a leading figure in southern Eyjafjörður. We start with a brief overview of the many marriages that take place at this stage of the saga, including: Glúm - Halldóra Thórir of Espihóll - Thórdís Thórarinn of Espihóll - Thorgerd Thorvald Hook of Espihóll - Thorkötla Of course, the real trouble starts when Thórir's son Thorgrím sets his heart on the lovely Thórdís. Things get interesting from there. Check out the Víga-Glúms saga genealogy Andy's been building here. All these marriages naturally result in the arrival of many new characters to the saga. Among them are Már, the son of Glúm and Halldóra, and two special little cousins, Arngrím and Steinólf. These two boys get along better than anyone in Iceland. Surely they have a bright future ahead of them. Right? We also dive into a fun little story about Ingólf, a very large man who finds a home at Þverá with Már and Glúm. Through no fault of his own, Ingólf gets caught up in a somewhat precarious feud between Glúm and a no-good neighbor known as Kalf of Stokkahlaðir. There's a horse fight, some hurt feelings, and then thing leads to another. Before you know it, there's a lawsuit against Ingólf at the Althing. As usual, we've got plenty of digressions to distract you from the story. We talk about ice storms in Mississippi, snow storms in Massachusetts. We go on for too long about formalist approaches to the structure of Víga-Glúms saga and how we approach building an episode of Saga Thing. This actually leads to a brief discussion of the role of minor characters in the sagas, a subject that the great Ármann Jakobsson covers in his new book (grab a copy here): We discuss the fascinating subject of children and toys in medieval Iceland. While there's not much info out there, we found just enough to get John excited about a possible Saga Brief on the subject ;). At some point, I mention a small toy carving found at Seydisfjordur (a great spot to visit in the East fjords). What kind of animal is this? Read the article in Smithsonian for more information. As you'll hear, this episode is very digression heavy as we work our way through a transitional moment in the saga.
