To travel UNESCO sites and share the value they bring to the world. To encourage people to never be tamed by society and to firmly believe that what moves them, matters.
For decades the scientific community has questioned whether or not jumping out of perfectly good airplanes can cure hangovers. For decades humans have sought faster remedies to hangovers and today I put the scientific method to work in hopes of advancing this research. Hungover from Thanksgiving Day and at the Grand Canton, I knew the time was now.
In New Mexico right now. Reflecting on general Mattis book call sign chaos and a book big dog Mattis told me to read The Lessons of History (free with audible subscription). Going to focus on increasing survivability and putting out more content all the while staying true to what moves me.
2nd to last day in Roswell here are my thoughts
What almost being denied at Carlsbad Cavern, the largest and most decorated cave network in the world taught me about fighting for what's right. Being open minded when meeting new people and some trials of the journey. Love y'all.
Don't be cheap with valuable people. Yea it's probably going to be awkward to talk giant alien dicks with a professional TV editor but YOLO.
This engagement taught me about what really matters in life. It's not what people say about you, it's about making a positive impact from a logical perspective.
Weekend recap of meeting long lost xbox best friend Brando Esc and college friend Ryan Schmitt. 2 years ago Ryan and I spoke about our futures. Even though I didn't believe myself when I told him I'd backpack the US and stop by his place in Texas, it ended up happening!
Tmrw I'm grabbing drinks with someone I haven't spoken to in 10 years and really ever in really life. We'd text each other to get on xbox and play for 8-10 hours a day sometimes. Anyone who plays halo knows that halo 3 forge friend was your best friend. Around 12 years ago we started playing xbox and we've never met in person. I'm excited to grab a drink with him now irl now that I'm in Houston.
"how lucky am I to have friends that make saying goodbye so hard" - Whinnie the Pooh. I went off the grid due to some personal issues. Glad to be back! Here we unload travel tips, a weekend with the boys, getting hit on by a gay dude, challenges while traveling solo and a glimpse into my work life traveling. New motivation is in my veins and I'm excited. Grateful for this opportunity and excited for the journey. Thanks to any and all of those listening. Your time matters to me.
Yesterday's reflection since I was off the henny and forgot to make a reflection. Pro tip on how to solve whiskey dick in 20 minutes without cheap gas station pills and shoutout to NOLA hospitality but also savagery for booting my car. Also shoutout to Alan Pinto for swinging by during my trip.
Day 5 of my backpacking journey. Again, Garth brooks was right when he said "everything that is a blessing is a curse" and vise versa. I talk about how my blessing of always wanting to do better is also the curse that makes me too hard. I use anecdotes from backpacking, Eric Thomas, Ray Lewis, and Mr. Schindler to illustrate this obstacle as well as how to overcome it. Today was the day I picked up micro plastics or "nurdles" at the Mississippi River until the sun went down. Also a special shoutout to the homies that check in on me and give me positive reinforcement!
Today's podcast follows the same format. Proud of an event at work, opportunity to wake up earlier and workout, grateful for some specific friend actions today and the budding friendship of a NOLA neighbor. These reflections help keep me on track to pursuing my self-development and will be key in continuing my growth. Expect more !
This is the first reflection in NOLA. Here we follow the reflection format of 1. Proud 2. Opportunity or Regret and 3. Gratitude. There's so much to be grateful for right now I know I forgot several things. My friends and family deserve a special shoutout. Mom my and Dad supported me before I left for this journey and my friends went way above what I thought. Special shoutout to Austin, Brandon, Kyle, Mike, Anthony, Austin's mom, Nelson, and Brooke, for giving me some support before I left. I'm sure there more but I gotta slump. Love y'all and stay untamed!
Here I dive into some of the context of my 4 month backpacking trip across America despite the pandemic, hurricanes, riots, and wildfires. Also a glimpse into the reasons that keep me going.
