Our next story we look at astronomer Jerry Ehman in 1977 using the Ohio State University Big Ear radio telescope. His volunteer job was to simply examine marks on an endless scroll of paper searching for anomalies, outlying marks indicating signals from out space. On this particular day, in review of the data, the signal was so strong he made a notation "WOW" indicating the unusual signal that he had never seen before.
