Now, here's a treat - a rare mix from the founder, legend and pioneer behind a special label. You know and love him, we do too... It's Zaltan! Antinote Records is an imprint which has released a huge assortment of music from some of our favourite artists here at Ransom Note. Zaltan has acted as a pivotal curator behind the label and has achieved enormous success having released music by the likes of DK, Raphael Top Secret, Domenique Dumont, Tolouse Low Trax, Geena, Alek Lee, Iueke and many more. The vision behind the label has always been to release music that is not aligned to style or genre, not restricted by preconceptions and stereotypes. As such it has been a crucial outlet for many who have chosen not to conform. Every release is varied and offers an insight into the wild and wonderful musical personality of Zaltan himself - who as you can imagine has excellent taste. Antinote is presently celebrating its 50th release in the form of Yarra River's "Frogmania" EP. However, they have more recently announced a new LP from OMMA. One you won't want to miss. We invited Zaltan to show us around his musical realm, he kindly obliged.

Il vero nome di River Yarra è Raudie McLeod, musicista, producer e dj formatosi prima come percussionista presso la Eltham High School Symphonic Band insieme ad altri artisti di stampo classico, jazz e post-ambient. Lui è giovanissimo e la sua prima release, con un altro pseudonimo, è datata 2017, Tambo’s House EP su Vulcan Venti, etichetta fondata insieme a Liluzu, amico e collega anche lui di Melbourne. Poco dopo si è trasferito a Parigi dove è entrato a pieno merito nella crew di Antinote Records, insieme a Zaltan, PAM e Nico Motte. Sul suo canale SoundCloud si possono trovare le sue ultime uscite, alcuni repost di artisti della sua nuova etichetta Super Utu, ma soprattuto tanti mixtape, tutti bellissimi. Leonardo Martelli è giovane, è nato nel 1994 a Foligno, tra le montagne umbre, in un’area dall’alta sismicità in cui le vibrazioni della terra sanno farsi sentire. Lui è cresciuto artisticamente vicino ai ragazzi di Dancity Festival e Serendipity ed è, secondo noi, una di quelle persone brave ad ascoltare e ad imparare in fretta, silenziosamente. I suoi studi l’hanno portato sin da giovanissimo vicino alla musica elettronica e a tutto ciò che riguarda l’energia sprigionata delle onde sonore; grazie al network di artisti locali si è avvicinato già nel 2009 alle prime Roland 808 e ai primi Prophet, ma la sua prima release esce in cassetta “solo” nel 2015, sulla label techno sperimentale americana New York Haunted. Seguono altri ep (Menti Singole, Menti Singole Vol. 2) e un album (Previsto) pubblicati da Antinote Records, label parigina di Zaltan, tre uscite che definiscono meglio la sua ricerca sonora all’interno di territori ambient-house.
