In the first hour of BCT, we chatted with Ben about how his visit to LA was. We discussed the Broncos cutting Zach Kerr, Dekoda Watson, and Nick Williams on Monday. The guys chatted about how the team handled the Rams game. Broncos CB De'Vante Bausby joined Broncos Country Tonight to discuss getting more snaps, team expectations, and more.
Nick Kendell and Carl Dumler look ahead towards the Broncos' third preseason game against what is becoming a friendly foe in the San Francisco 49ers. Between recent draft day trades involving Kapri Bipps and DeKoda Watson, the friendship of John Lynch and John Elway, and the swapping of coaches in Joe Woods and Rich Scangarello, these two teams know each other pretty well, and perhaps too well by the end of the week. Looking over the Niners roster, the front seven and weapons stand out providing a good challenge for the Broncos' offensive line and secondary. Two Iowa Tight Ends will be on display and highly indicative of how much the Broncos have improved in multiple areas as well. Finally, at the end, Carl and Nick settle a personal grudge. Broncos LB Dekoda Watson joined Broncos Country Tonight to discuss practicing against his former team, defensive intensity out at practice, and more.
It was a "very choppy" day for the offense, as Offensive Coordinator Rich Scangarello said. But the defense found its form and flourished late. Andrew Mason and Ryan Edwards break it down and get the inside scoop on the day from edge rushers Dekoda Watson (19:30) and Bradley Chubb (22:27).
Andrew Mason and Ryan Edwards break down what happened on a Day 3 of camp that saw the defense dominate with five takeaways. Beginning at 1:36, they discuss how pressure up front is causing problems for the offense, including a huge day for DeMarcus Walker (15:35) and some big plays for Jeff Holland, Malik Reed and Dekoda Watson (19:49) over the first three days of camp. They also discuss what they like about Drew Lock so far in camp (21:30). Benjamin Allbright of KOA Newsradio also joins them to talk with Holland (16:49) and inside linebacker Josh Watson (23:57), who saw first-team reps Saturday.
Andrew Mason and Ryan Edwards of Orange and Blue 760 open up this week's podcast by discussing Emmanuel Sanders' recovery (2:00) from a torn Achilles tendon. How will the distribution of targets and receptions look if he is limited early in the year? At 3:45, Mason and Edwards break that down, and at 7:23, they incorporate Noah Fant and the tight ends into that conversation. At 17:30, the focus turns to the offensive line in the wake of Garett Bolles' comments about the alignment of guards Dalton Risner and Ron Leary. At 26:00, the chat becomes detail-oriented, focusing on the Broncos' emphasis on getting the little details right. Finally, at 37:00, Edwards, Mason and Ring of Famer talk with Watson about his return to Denver in a conversation that aired on Orange and Blue 760. Watson tells the guys how he was in Napa Valley when he learned of the trade. The post San Francisco 49er Dekoda Watson appeared first on Alive and Free.
Dekoda Watson started out as a seventh round pick for the Tampa Buccaneers in 2010, and has managed to carve out an almost decade long career in the NFL. In his first year with the 49ers, Watson has been a special teams standout and mentor to some of the 49ers young defensive stars. Watson tells Al about what it takes to make it in the NFL, and why he chose to play in San Francisco. He also tells us how the team kept it together after their 0-9 start, and how things have changed since the arrival of Jimmy Garoppolo. Also, Al reacts to Adam Schefter's comments about Goropplo's contact, the 49ers being "media darlings" this offseason, and the career of Frank Gore.
