Richie Carni and Mark Schlereth kick off today’s show talking about yesterday’s surprise snowstorm before recapping a busy weekend of Denver sports. They discuss the pros and cons of the Broncos’ quiet free agency, even after clearing out cap space. The Nuggets dropped a big game to the Lakers where the late game execution bit them yet again and Stink vents about it. Richie and Stink end the first hour with a question: is it time the Avs turn to Scott Wedgewood between the pipes full-time?  

Richie Carni and Mark Schlereth open the second hour having a conversation about competition and how being benched affects an athlete. They shout out a young 7am listener and they chat about wearing a cast to school. The Nuggets dropped another game where they faltered late in the game and it has shaken Stink’s faith in the Nuggets. The Broncos have prioritized their guys in free agency which has bothered a ton of fans; Stink dives into the mind of the Broncos brass to explain why. Stink and Richie wrap up the second hour in 4 Down Territory where Team USA gets some goodwill back, Joel Embiid is ducking the Nuggets yet again, and the USA gets the Golden Hat Trick. 

Richie Carni and Mark Schlereth kick off the third hour looking at the Broncos’ position groups that still need help. Stink has been studying the film on the TE’s in the draft not named Kenyon Sadiq and he picks out his favorite attainable targets for the Broncos. Their belief in the Nuggets as Finals contenders took a big hit after they failed to salt the game away in LA, Richie and Stink break down what went wrong for the Nuggets during crunch time. The guys end the third hour hearing the coach’s explanation for the end-of-game mistakes that led to the Nuggets dropping a crucial game to the LA Lakers.  

Richie Carni and Mark Schlereth open the fourth hour with some breaking Broncos-adjacent news that could have implications on the AFC West this coming season. The guys discuss whether it’s time for the Avalanche to hit the panic button on the goalie situation with the Dallas Stars hot on their heels. The Broncos missed out on the last needle-mover free agent but they have been moving around their money, is there a big move in the works at Dove Valley? Do you trust the Broncos’ process? Stink and Richie discuss how much equity Sean Payton has built over his tenure as he and the Broncos test Broncos Country’s patience. Stink caps off today’s show passing along some patented Sean Payton inspiration.
