Chris, Beau and Nate react to the NFL's week 2 slate and the action around the league. The Philadelphia Eagles knock off Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Arrowhead. Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley weren't perfect but didn't need to be as the Eagles defense stood tall and delivered Mahomes his 3 straight loss dating back to last season. Joe Burrow went down against the Jacksonville Jaguars and will be out for a couple months with a turf toe injury so the Bengals will turn to Jake Browning. The Detroit Lions are back with a dominant win over Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams. The New England Patriots got Mike Vrabel his first victory as Patriots HC, the Cowboys beat the Giants in a shootout, the Colts are a damn good football team and the Seahawks jumped Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers to get back to .500. We rip through those topics and more on our Monday Live Reactions episode! Jerry starts with the Russell Wilson interception in overtime. Brian Daboll sounded disappointed after the game. Aaron Glenn had a message to the team after the loss. The Colts beat the Broncos on a FG after a penalty on the previous FG that was no good.
Hour 1 Here we are again, 2 weeks into the NFL season and the Giants and Jets are both 0-2. The Giants played prevent defense which didn't make any sense with the Cowboys having one of the best kickers in the league. Cowboys fans should be concerned that they gave up all that offense to a Giants team that normally can't seem to score. Gio wonders why they put Jaxson Dart in for a few plays when Russell Wilson was having a career game. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and we heard the TD from Wilson to Nabers with :25 seconds to play. We also heard the call of the Cowboys game winning FG. We then heard the sounds of the Jets losing to the Bills as they couldn't stop James Cook. We heard Joe Burrow go down with a serious turf toe injury. Aaron Judge homered again, but the Yankees lost to the Red Sox. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer has a stat-pack stat regarding Daniel Jones and the Colts. Gio thought the Browns and Bears would cover this weekend and both got blown out. Hour 2 Gio called the Jets performance, ‘embarrassing'. So much for Aaron Glenn and the accountability. Yesterday we watched the Justin Fields that struggled in Chicago and got benched in Pittsburgh. This was probably his worst game in the NFL. We talked about Aaron Glenn as a rookie head coach. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Russell Wilson interception in overtime. Brian Daboll sounded disappointed after the game. Aaron Glenn had a message to the team after the loss. The Colts beat the Broncos on a FG after a penalty on the previous FG that was no good. The Mets finally won a game as we heard Pete Alonso's 3-run HR in the bottom of the tenth. In the final segment of the hour, there may be an LIRR strike during the Ryder Cup. James Hudson of the Giants was flagged on four plays in one drive to start the game. Boomer said there were a lot of great throws and catches for the Giants yesterday. Hour 3 JJ McCarthy struggled last night but Boomer loved the performance by Bijan Robinson of the Falcons. A caller said Tony Romo did a great job of calling out the Jets defense during the broadcast. A Cowboys fan calls in to call the Giants the ‘g-strings'. Boomer told him his defense stinks, so stop crowing. A caller wonders how it feels to have to talk Giants and Jets every day. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the game winning kick as the Cowboys beat the Giants in OT. The Giants had over 500 yards of offense. Brian Daboll said they have to move on to next week. Malik Nabers talked about all the penalties they had. We heard Nantz & Romo on the call as the Jets lost to the Bills. Aaron Glenn talked about beating themselves. We got breaking news that Joe Burrow will need toe surgery. The Lions blew out the Bears and Ben Johnson. In the final segment of the hour, Gio is going to see Dua Lipa on Thursday at MSG. Hour 4 Yesterday was one of the more entertaining Giants games in a long time. Justin Fields is in concussion protocol and it looks like Tyrod Taylor is going to start this week for the Jets. Gio is taking an early look at the spreads for this week's games. Joe Burrow is getting surgery so Jake Browning will be their QB and we remembered his girlfriend wearing a skintight dress at a game once. Maybe the Bengals will want to trade for Jameis Winston. Jerry returns for his final update of the day, but first Gio tells us his wife was bit by a spider. We heard post game sound from the Giants players after their OT loss to the Cowboys. Aaron Glenn talked about the Jets loss. Donald Trump doesn't like the new NFL kickoffs and called it ‘sissy football'. Ben Johnson was asked about the Lions running up the score on the Bears. The Moment of The Day: Gio's Shannon Sharpe and Ochocinco impression. In the final segment of the day, we have two Monday night games tonight.
Gio called the Jets performance, ‘embarrassing'. So much for Aaron Glenn and the accountability. Yesterday we watched the Justin Fields that struggled in Chicago and got benched in Pittsburgh. Mike Evans and Brandon Stokley kick off today’s show stumbling before they share their instant reactions to the Broncos’ heartbreaking loss to the Colts and explaining the leverage penalty. Mike goes into panic mode after the Broncos’ performance, writing them off as contenders after another uneven performance. The script flipped in the game versus the Colts, the defense struggling this time, and it makes Mike wonder if this defense that got so much preseason hype is overrated. The guys finish the first hour calling out the highest paid guys on the team for failing to play up to their contracts against the Colts.
Mike Evans and Brandon Stokley open the second hour debating whether the game really came down to the last second field goal or if Brocos Country are deflecting blame from everything that led up to it. What can Broncos Country glean from this game? Mike think the loss means the Broncos should be written off from contending while Stoke takes a more measured, patient outlook. They debate the efficacy of the Broncos’ run game. Some fans are second guessing Sean Payton’s clock management at the end of the game, Mike and Stoke break down whether they’re right or wrong. The guys finish the second hour in 4 Down Territory where they cover the Broncos’ heartbreaking loss, the last-place Chiefs, a key divisional matchup, and the honeymoon period ending for Coach Prime?
Mike Evans and Brandon Stokley with Mark Schlereth kick off the third hour getting the big guy’s take on the hottest topics after the Broncos’ loss to the Colts. He breaks down the defense’s failures and he gives an unpopular take on the final play. The guys call out the high paid superstar players that disappeared in Indy en route to the Broncos’ loss on the road. The guys have blamed the Broncos’ loss to the Colts and the senior editor at Denver Sports, James Merilatt, actually agrees with the guys for the most part about the week two loss.
The Denver Broncos defense is exposed as a fraud after losing to Daniel Jones and the Indianapolis Colts. Not a good idea: A doctor walked out of an operation for sex with a nurse. A cookie dough canister exploded in a thief's back end. Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel has some odd words of "wisdom" after their loss to the Patriots. He may be getting fired soon. 0:00 - ESPN's Adam Schefter joined us to break down Denver's gut-wrenching loss to Indy. And maybe...just maybe...he can explain what the heck Leverage is? We shall see. 21:47 - The Broncos have to learn to CLOSE OUT GAMES. Next week, they play the Chargers on the road. If you give Herbert and Harbaugh an inch, they'll take a mile. Don't give them anything. Execute down the stretch!33:03 - One coach was particularly angry and fiesty with the media over the weekend...after a win. Also, UCLA just fired their head football coach after an 0-3 start. We should've seen the signs. The internet dug up a very strange clip from his introductory press conference a few years ago. And finally, Vic claims his impression of someone was spot on. Let's investigate.
0:00 - That leveraging penalty call on the Broncos felt so arbitrary. Look at every FG attempt. Someone's always putting their hands on someone else! Why call the penalty in that moment? It's like holding. You could absolutely call holding on every single play if you wanted to.14:53 - It's Monday at 8:20am, so let's take a look Around the NFL!32:19 - Which Broncos players are In the Groove right now? It wasn't all doom and gloom yesterday! There were plenty of bright spots. After that, CU lost to a very beatable Houston team. But a good amount. So it begs the question...where's Coach Prime's Louis? He said he was bringing it. Really? Where's the talent on this roster?
0:00 - Late. Game. Execution. The Broncos had every chance to win yesterday and they made mistakes at every turn. Everyone will point to the last play and the friggin Leverage penalty, but that was the tip of the iceberg.15:39 - Yesterday's game was the opposite of what you'd expect. The Broncos offense actually looked good INCLUDING the run game! And the Broncos defense got cooked by Danny Freakin' Dimes. What a strange backwards day.33:15 - After CU's disappointing loss to Houston on Friday, Brett has an interesting question...what does CU do well?

There's plenty to be angry about following the Broncos upsetting loss to the Colts on Sunday. Will Lutz missed a gimmie fieldgoal IN A DOME. Bo Nix threw an ill-timed interception. The defense could not stop the run or the juggernaut(?) that is Daniel Jones. The referees called the game like they had money on it. If the Broncos are truly the team of destiny that we had been led to believe they would be, they're going to have to do a whole hell of a lot better going forward. Learn more about your ad choices. Bill opened the show by discussing his concern level for the Kansas City Chiefs after their 0-2 start to the season before reacting to the report that Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow will need surgery on his toe, which will knock him out for at least the next three months. Bill also reacted to the poor quarterback play from both Aaron Rodgers and J.J. McCarthy on Sunday before getting into 5 Things You Need To Know from the Week 3 college football slate. The second hour starts with Super Bowl champion Joe Theismann joining the show to discuss how the Commanders could prevent a sophomore slump for Jayden Daniels and his concern level for the Chiefs. Buy or Sell is next as Bill answered if the Bengals should trade for Kirk Cousins and if Notre Dame should still be ranked. The show ends with Bill reacting to the betting odds as to who could be the next UCLA head coach and his frustration with the Bears after their blowout loss to the Lions.

Sal and BT's discussion on their perfect parlay picks quickly devolved into a fiery rant about bad beats and the NFL's officiating. Sal recounted a brutally painful loss on a Broncos bet, where a late-game field goal was waved off by a questionable penalty, snatching victory from his grasp. This prompted a larger conversation about the league's inconsistent and game-changing penalties, which they argued are ruining not only the games but also the experience for bettors. Sal expressed his frustration, saying he's looking for a sign to stop betting after two straight weeks of brutal, last-second losses.

The Denver Broncos had their chances, but on day where the game went back and forth, and you knew it would come down to one or two plays. The Broncos in the end, were on the wrong side of those critical moments. #unitedinorange #broncos #broncoscountry #broncoscountryblitz #nfl #denvsind #podcast

The Broncos lost a gut-wrenching game yesterday in Indianapolis, falling 29-28 to the Colts. Will Lutz missed a key 42-yard field goal late in the 4th quarter and a Broncos penalty on a Colts 60-yarder gave Indy another chance and moments later a 45-yard FG ended the game. Eric and Bruce react to the loss, discussing the much-improved offense in Week 2 and Daniel Jones, Jonathan Taylor and Tyler Warren slicing up the Broncos defense. How much of a concern are the special teams? Troy Franklin looked excellent, so what is his ceiling this season? Denver's Week 3 opponent -- the Chargers play the Raiders in Las Vegas tonight.
