Nike deserves a handclap of praise
Branding can mean so many things, and if you're starting a business, it may be the furthest thing from your mind. I always thought of Nike's Just Do It Campaign and felt if I didn't have the budget of Nike's then branding just wasn't going to happen. Dacia Coffee of The Marketing Blender gave a great breakdown of branding and how you can apply it no matter how big or small your business is.
